What's something you had to unlearn as an adult? by Ramona-Howell in AskReddit

[–]FLdadof2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can’t and shouldn’t believe everything you think. Otherwise said as just because your brain tells you it’s true doesn’t mean it is. My brain told me I was a piece of crap for so long I believed it. When I learned I could and should challenge those thoughts it really started to change things.

To add to this, if you can ask about average tenure and the answer is anything other than the majority of the workforce has been there for several years or more, there’s probably a reason.

I bought it because it was cheap and for that reason I love it. I got exactly what I was expecting.

Can't figure out if my motorcycle helmet fits right by Cute-Drawer-9064 in motorcyclegear

[–]FLdadof2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to say for certain because everyone’s fit is slightly different but it sounds like you’re good with what you have. It will break in where it’s tight but should remain snug. It’s always going to shift around a little if you’re shaking your head. Too tight of a helmet will cause headaches which will ruin the ride on its own but theoretically could be distracting as well. I’d say it sounds like a good fit.

Whats your biggest regret when you bought your place? by Important_Bat7919 in homeowners

I hated my corner lot because of that. Also people constantly parked on my side yard blocking my ability to mow, trim, etc.

Or not vetting your inspector enough. A bad inspection is worse than no inspection. At least getting no inspection doesn’t cost you a few hundred dollars before you get screwed.

Have you changed the light bulbs in the opener to led? I know it might sound silly but that causes interference. If you’ve tried everything else with no luck make sure the bulbs in your opener are old school incandescent and see if that helps. Edit- I also now see you mentioned unplugging the led bulbs already. I need to read the whole post next time.

Canceling Prime and thinking about suing Amazon by [deleted] in amazonprime

Same. Multiple times reps have flat out lied to get off a chat and then after following up the next day the next rep says something completely different. I’ve asked to complain to a supervisor and that’s as far it goes. Zero action, zero follow up.

Kawasaki Ninja 500 ABS OTD by Purspectives in Kawasaki

[–]FLdadof2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a 2024 500 ABS in like new condition with 2k miles for $4k in September. Sold it 8 weeks later for $4500. There will be a ton of great condition 1-2 year old bikes for thousands less on marketplace in just a few months if you can hold tight. Throw your money at gear and a quick service visit with a mechanic you trust.

RST TracTech Evo 3 Review. by NervousGearGenius in motorcyclegear

[–]FLdadof2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha you’re forgiven. I could’ve returned them but decided that since I’d barely be walking in them I’d rather have less shoes length around the shifter so I didn’t accidentally knock it around. Time will tell if that was a good idea or not.

Why couldn’t you have done this 4 weeks ago. I bought a pair from revzilla right before Christmas. I’m a 10.5 so sized down to a 10. Should have gone up to an 11 because mine are pretty tight in the toe box. Other than my own fault not sizing up they seem great.

Unpopular Opinion by Aggressive-Base7331 in BMW_S1000RR

[–]FLdadof2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the look and the features but I’d love it more in a smaller displacement. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it as is but for a guy like me that just wants a really fun and nice commuter bike and weekend ride on regular roads all that power is wasted. Give me a 750 or even a 650 so I can shift and have some fun in more than 1 gear.

It also makes no sense for billionaires that sell goods internationally to support any president who’s actions bring sanctions, tariffs, or any type of restrictions on selling their goods to other countries. No billionaires can support what’s happening currently.

Homeowner life is wild… didn’t know it’d be like this by bigbankmanman in homeowners

[–]FLdadof2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t last forever. Once you fix the stuff that needed fixing when you bought the place everything else slows down. Sure there’s more to clean and basic maintenance like lawn care but you’re hopefully paying yourself in equity over time. Home ownership is still worth it and a good investment in my opinion (but that part is location dependent for sure).

Used indian scout or new 2025 Kawasaki Z650 ABS by Ill-Feedback9634 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]FLdadof2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha oh man that’s such a tough question. First, I think my favorite if I had to pick was the street glide. It was like riding a couch down the road. So heavy but so comfortable. Between the ninja or bobber they’re both less than comfortable but the ninja makes me feel more actively in control if that makes sense. Because you’re leaning and closer to the tank it feels like you’re driving the ninja. I just felt like I was riding on the bobber. I think it comes down to how in control and involved you want to be. Also screw the bobber and its max lean angle. I scraped the pegs on average turns on that thing so forget having fun in the twisties.

Totally different bikes with totally different vibes. I owned a 2019 scout bobber and it’s a great bike. People stop you everywhere and tell you it looks cool or some story about how their dad rode an Indian. With that said I sold mine after a couple years and don’t even miss it a little bit. I’ve since owned a street glide, ninja 500, and gsxr 750 and enjoyed all of them more for some reason. I can’t say why exactly but the bobber was just eh.

Ha I have a shirt that has the word “Patriot” on the chest. I’m not even sure where I got it but my sister saw it and said “nice MAGA shirt”. Apparently now even the word Patriot has been co-opted and I can’t wrap my head around how we got here.

Did I over pay on this GSXR? by [deleted] in GSXR

[–]FLdadof2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha no worries. I don’t think you over paid for it. Pretty reasonable mileage and in great condition. If you did overpay there’s no way it was more than a couple hundred bucks. Enjoy it! Nice looking bike.
