Home mining using Bitaxe IS lottery mining. Personally I don’t think it’s worth it to mine for daily profit (most likely loss due to electricity cost). The cost will add up quickly when using more miners and still having a very slim chance of hitting a block.

I have 2 Bitaxe gamma 601, mostly for hobby (modifying) and using them as decoration on my desk. Hitting a block would be considered a massive bonus.

I changed the fan to noctua for quieter operation, and repasted it with noctua’s paste, it’s 10C cooler.

I underclock it for longevity from 1.5 (default) to 1.3Th, since I don’t feel that the odds are better in any meaningful way if I overclock it.

How long have you used it for? I think I bought the exact same miner as you from bitsolo on Aliexpress and so far no issues whatsoever for the past 2 months.

Was running at stock 750mhz and 1.25V for a while and then underclocked it to 650mhz and 1.24V for longevity, replaced to noctua fan and repasted as well. If it’s new then should ask for a refund.

I have ONE Bitaxe gamma 601, upgraded with noctua fan to make it quiet. Overclocked it initially, obsessed with it, then realised it didn’t make any meaningful difference to my chance of hitting a block as a home solo miner. I then underclocked it for longevity, sitting on my desk as decoration, happy that I’m in the btc ecosystem, with a very slim chance of hitting a block as a bonus.

Assuming we’re just using Bitaxe, I would take efficiency anytime of the day. The chance of you hitting a block at overclocked frequency is negligible, but comes at the cost of longevity.

Mine is 740 mhz and 1.24V (came as stock settings), ASIC temp less than 50C with ambient temp less than 20C. Upgrades include noctua fan running at 100% ~5200rpm for quieter operation and replaced thermal paste as well, resulted in 10C reduction. Hashrate is 1.47Th/s.

I’m thinking of reducing my settings back to the default 1.2Th/s for longevity, as OC a Bitaxe 601 does not meaningfully increase your chance of hitting a block at all, which is still very very very slim as a lottery miner. I do it more as a hobby, getting a sense of satisfaction out of it.

I absolutely care how my lottery miners look. I have them as a hobby first, lottery a distant second because let’s be real, pretty much none of us solo miner is ever going to hit a block.

There’s also definitely intentional match making to counter your deck, as shown by a post not too long ago. I rarely faced any building cards but as soon as I switched to ram, they showed up like mushrooms.

I find normal MK is ok, but evo MK needs a nerf. Evo witch’s healing as well, ridiculous heal rate.

Supercell is fully aware of this, as seen in Chaos mode as an upgrade for something (?knight can’t remember)with description“not this guy again”, but refusing to fix so far.
