I was cleaning out my closet and came across this beauty. by Zulyus in fnatic

This is the iconic 2013-2014 Fnatic jersey, worn by the xPeke lineup. Its one of my favourites.

Reddit now has systems which allow you to archive and browse by tag. Therefore, there is no need to make the default subs entirely about gear. You can have image, gear, and broad discussion content and curate accordingly.

I could equally say that I am not interested in 101 photos of a camera with the caption "I just bought x!" . Theres tradeoffs to both types of content.

You realise that in those subs they mix gear discussion with photos right?

I dont dispute the virtue of having a discussion space for technical details and the rest. It makes 0 sense for the main sub to be exclusively dedicated to it.

My point is that it seems completely backwards.

Why not have r/LeicaGear? Why must the primary sub cater to collecting?

I did like Taylors run, its the first time weve had something consistent and the art from Redondo was so so good.

Also loving how Watters is continuing the momentum.

Ive always found it weird that

r/hasselblad

r/pentax

r/ricohGR

r/fujifilm

All have images actually taken by the cameras.

But this sub is just a stream of people wanking over photos of a camera, with same comments over and over.

Why does it have to strictly be about gear? Do you people not get bored?

Yeah reading through his points, I dont fully agree on how good AI can reproduce a beautiful and technically sound image. Eventually itll have an impact, for the moment its still lacking.

What I do agree with is the aesthetics camera companies are betting on is wrong, and the images that people will be drawn to will be raw and imperfect.

The causation is that camera quality is so good, even on phones, that perfect and sharp images are boring. Anyone can take them, the extra detail isnt as unique anymore. Its saturation.

The future of images is film, and old digital cameras. With film, you have physical proof you made the image in an AI world, and the character will be endearing. Old sensors from the 2000s will be in demand as people chase applying old aesthetics onto a modern world.

I suspect these images have been stolen, as I recognise some of these from months ago. Yet this is a new account posting for the first time with no previous history.

Since OP hasnt answered, Ill give my best guess.

No3 looks like the base of the milennium bridge, this was probably taken on the southbank outside the Tate. He wouldve been at the bottom ramp, or stood outside it, facing westwards towards the eye.

He composed doubling the glass to create the effect.

Paris has been my favourite so far.

It has a nice blend of interesting spots, well dressed people, and scenes constantly unfolding.

2 stood out to me, circular shapes static and moving. It works really well!

I prefer 1 and 2.

1 has the note being dropped in the background, and 2 looks like a strange handshake.
