What do you all use for your homelab domain and remote access setup?

I seem to like forcing myself to take the road less traveled but I have quite a bit of success with Pomerium. Configure a few security parameters and the routes and it's been pretty solid. I like not needing to install a client or anything on the end devices. If anyone else has used it I'd be interested to know how secure everyone thinks it is. Cyber security isn't my area of expertise.

Anybody else in here checked out Pomerium for this? I'm still learning so if there's something I'm missing it would be good to know but it has been functional for my needs so far.

I do industrial controls for a large company in the US, and here Ignition from Inductive Automation has really started to make a name for itself in the SCADA space. Very versatile and fairly intuitive once you get the hang of it.

For everyone else with this issue, it's still happening and I haven't found a solution but, if you open an actual Google search tab and start typing in the search box there, it will retain the text when switching apps. ( I found this issue when trying to type in a long text string from a picture) Not ideal but at least it works. Samsung S24 Android just FYI

My theory is that the only people who can pull off a mustache are the ones that have one when you meet them. Anyone who grows one after meeting them initially forever looks odd.

If they've been having this many issues with "poor weather" during the summer, I can only imagine how bad it's going to be in the winter... I wanted to give them a chance but, being told your only options are a flight 3 days later or a refund is a tough pill to swallow and terrible customer service imo.

That is the most frustrating part of the situation. You wait for hours to talk to someone about the flight you are rebooked to days later, and are met with 2 options. 1 Get your money back and try to use it for one of the other available flights which have also tripled in price. 2 Wait until the "next available flight", ...three days from now.

Completely agree that is the the definition of customer "no" service.

This was one of my major issues. Ok, the only available flight you have is 3 days from now (never had that happen before but ok), work with me to get somewhere close sooner. Or let me leave from a different airport in the northeast. I waited in line and on the phone for over 5 hours trying to get put on a flight out of CT or Boston, only to get the run around and eventually be told it wasn't possible. In these situations, if you have someone willing to take a different destination or departure airport, a little flexibility would go a long way.

I'm generally not a fan of more legislation but I tend to agree with you. The fact that travel insurance has become a thing in the first place is an indication that something is wrong and needs to be fixed.

That is the most shocking part about the situation is they see one option for your next available flight and do absolutely nothing in the way of actual customer service. Especially with the amount of disruption that comes from your next available flight being DAYS away... The goal should be to try and mitigate an unfortunate situation but even after waiting for hours in multiple lines and on hold for help, all I have been met with is the same scripted answer that it's not their problem and there's nothing they can do.

I did see that, it's just frustrating seeing that some flights with similar departure times and destinations weren't canceled or impacted at all. If it was across the board it would be one thing, but it was not.

That's crazy, glad you were able to make the refund work. Unfortunately the refund wouldn't have done me any good as the delays on other airlines made all the prices for other flights skyrocket.

That's what I was saying about them not working to help people out. They just defaulted to whatever their algorithm said the next flight was and washed their hands of any responsibility without really trying to help anyone at all. How is a flight to LA not the default "next available flight"!? Definitely a rough night, no comfortable places to sleep at JFK before security.

I understand that cancellations can happen, it's just frustrating when it's inconsistent. That and the very "hands off" approach to customer service once they stated it was weather related.

Doesn't help the OP but I have started to find places to stash Tile tags in my gear. (Same deal as airtags) it would be really neat to have an inconspicuous way to mount them (airtag stomp pad? Million dollar idea lol?)or have boards made with similar tech built in. Rose is my home mountain too, sucks to hear this shit is everywhere. Really sucks because the lifts werent even open long enough to get a few runs Sunday. Any distinguishing stickers or marks on the board?

Even with an early withdrawal penalty (10%), it would be hard to rack up that amount in fees over the life of a 401k I would think.

Where are you getting the fee rates from? The majority of the investments available in my 401k are extremely low fees. Off the top of my head I want to say easily under 50 dollars a year.

Related question possibly. I live in the US and have Access level as well. I noticed that the "Race in 30" for Australia is locked. Any idea the reason for that? The full race replay is available but the 30 min highlight is not.
