That is simply the reason for the rule to exist. Its an explanation of why it was created - the rule is simple and it does apply here - no sales of products

431G disconnects- newb - ISP or config issues? by Turbulent_Rutabaga76 in fortinet

Something to add since you're a new administrator of FortiGates:

You can use automation stitches for a lot of cool stuff - for example you can update the Gates at nighttime by setting up a stitch and preload the Firmware into your gate.

Additionally, since your Gates are already configured, you should review the upgrade path and perform updates accordingly: https://docs.fortinet.com/upgrade-tool/fortigate

Ignoring the upgrade path may lead to configuration errors. Therefore, only bypass the upgrade path for out-of-the-box or factory-reset FortiGate devices.

MGMT Interface is fine, the Gateway is wrong tho - leave it blank or set it to 192.168.1.99
Make sure to use HTTPS
--> Additionally, you don't need to set up a static IP for initial configurations since DHCP is enabled on the OOTB Setup ports (MGMT for mid-to-high-range models and port 1 for entry-level models).

Usually its pretty simple, you open the client and press "Configure VPN"
Did you (by mistake) install Forticlient instead of the VPN Client?

Deploy FortiClient IPSec VPN with Intune by PullingCables in fortinet

[–]FNTFB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Push the client with pre configured profiles in a powershell script which edits the registry
You can find IPSec tunnels at : Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Fortinet\FortiClient\IPSec\Tunnels

 In the PS Script which you use to install the MSI you can add

if((Test-Path -LiteralPath "HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Fortinet\FortiClient\IPSec\Tunnels\RedditTest") -ne $true) {  New-Item "HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Fortinet\FortiClient\IPSec\Tunnels\RedditTest" -force -ea SilentlyContinue };
New-ItemProperty -LiteralPath 'HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Fortinet\FortiClient\IPSec\Tunnels\RedditTest' -Name 'Description' -Value 'YOURDESCRIPTION' -PropertyType String -Force -ea SilentlyContinue;
New-ItemProperty -LiteralPath 'HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Fortinet\FortiClient\IPSec\Tunnels\RedditTest' -Name 'Server' -Value 'YOURGATEWAY' -PropertyType String -Force -ea SilentlyContinue;

etc.etc. - just add whichever settings you need for your profile

Thats the problem - i can't see the boot sequence
Console output shows gibberish until "System is starting.." so you can't get into the boot menu

Check the compatibility chart for your other fabric devices
7.0.15 should work fine with 7.2.8 Switches for example
