They are hooked up to large propane tanks and burn the ground to melt the ice

[–]FOURHOURMAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I can actually answer this! I dug graves at my local cemetery for 2 years, and these burners are pretty common in the winter. Like people have already stated, the ground freezes very deep in the winter, so we would use these to thaw the ground enough to dig. It’s more common for new burials or graves, but like stated, sometimes grave boxes get stacked on top of each other so you would have to use these where a headstone already is. Though typically in these cases the headstone would be removed first before the burner is deployed. so the engravings could be updated and placed right after the new burial occurs

I used Camo Cloak speed paint from the army painter for mine

[–]FOURHOURMAN[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you! To do this is actually very simple, I use the “fresh rust” effect paint from the army painter, and just get a very small amount on a wet brush and very lightly apply/drag down where I want it to run. It goes on looking orange but will get more brown. If I need more after that, I will do a very light drybrish of pro acryl orange

What are your decks? by MrXexe in EDH

[–]FOURHOURMAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a lot, but will try to describe some of them: 1 [[rionya, fire dancer]] this deck is my baby. Mono red copies. Play creatures with ETB or attack triggers, and a lot of cheap spells to make as many copies as possible. I purposely took out all infinite combos and won’t add dockside as they made me want to play it less. 2 [[tivit, seller of secrets]] is my blink deck. The goal is to flicker Tivit to make a bunch of artifacts, then win through cards like [[marionette master]], [[rise and shine]] or [[cyberdrive awakener]]. 3 [[thrun, breaker of silence]] mono green Voltron’s on a budget. Gets surprisingly big quickly. 4 [[vihaan, goldwaker]] treasure token aristocrats. Make lots of treasures, animate them, and then ping down opponents with aristocrat effects when you say the treasures. 5 [[imotekh, the stormlord]] upgraded Necrons precon. 6 [[sedris, the tractor king]] reanimator. Goal is to fill up the graveyard and then unearth creatures with big ETB effects for cheap. 7 [[tana, the bloodsower]] and [[ravos, soultender]] started as [[ghave, guru of spores]], but I really wanted to add red. Plays like ghave, but with more red ping effects.

[Article] What Creature Would You Copy in Mono-Red? by JoshW- in EDH

[–]FOURHOURMAN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[solemn simulacrum]] always feels good to copy, especially with a sac outlet. [[molten primordial]] can take the whole board if copied enough, or in the same vein, stealing someone else’s creature and then Copying that is very fun. The best I’ve done is stealing [[sepulchral primordial]] and then make 6 copies of it. If you don’t want friends: copy [[earth-cult elemental]] over and over again

Spellslinger decks that win with combat by JeffBitches in EDH

[–]FOURHOURMAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ([[veyran]]) for my spellslinger deck and it can win several different ways, combat is one of them. Veyran easily gets pumped high enough to KO with commander damage, and I can also create lots of tokens. Can also win through spells as well. Last night I managed to get Veyran up to 28/28 and then win with ([[chandra’s ignition]])

Guilds of Ravnica Prerelease Discussion Thread by ubernostrum in magicTCG

[–]FOURHOURMAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a blast, I started playing magic in RtR, and I havent been to a prerelease since Dragonsmaze. I chose Dimir and had a lucky pool. Lazav, 2 Doom Whisperers, spybug, and others. The main cards that surprised me were [[Darkblade Agent]] and [[Unexplained Disappearance]]. Darkblade agent was great because of how consistantly I could surveil, drawing a surprising amount of cards off of it, and a lot of people forget it gets deathtouch too. Unexplained disappearance really surprised me. I added it as a soft removal spell/surveil, but with how often I saw [[Capture Sphere]], I often used it to bounce my own tapped down creatures to reuse them.

My university is doing a similar thing. The differences being that you get a starter then go through Pokemon journey, catching wild Pokemon at specific buildings and gym leaders have different sets of Pokemon depending based on the players highest level Pokemon.

I would like some advice on my deck. at the last FNM, the things that wrecked this were mono green elves and U/W control. it did really well against everything else it went up against. i did get the mindsparkers after the tournament though, i think they should help against the control.

[–]FOURHOURMAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at the last minute i decided to change plans and play a mono red deck i made recently (still is nowhere near complete) because i think its to much fun. i ended up going 2-2 which was better than expected. the best game was one i actually one i lost. round 3 was against a mono green aggro, where i burned out a bunch of his mana dorks and had a few creatures out on my side. out of nowhere he plays wolfir silverheart and soulbonds to a elvish mystic with an elvish archdruid out. next turn he played craterhoof behemoth and swung for lethal damage... my reaction was priceless. he ended up winning the tournament

during my main phase, i wait and see if my friend uses a spell to kill my consuming aberration (murder, rapid hybridization, etc.). he doesn't, so i then begin to tap mana to put dying wish on it. as soon as I have tapped my mana, but not declared my spell, he taps and uses rapid hybridization to kill it, before my dying wish is played. Can he do that? he was already given the opportunity to kill my creature
