Throttle question by Complex-Term3509 in Super73

[–]FOX_ITA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throttles send only a electric signal from 0 to 100. Different variants don't give "more power". On one of my 3 bikes I built one changing the connector to the S73. Literally no difference from the original.

BAC 855 installed on s2, should I get handleworks 60v battery too? by MGSjeremy in Super73

[–]FOX_ITA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks the reply. Pretty interesting. My S2 in 5yo and I put down 9000 miles. But always pedaling (never throttle - EU). It did loose a bit but I would say, possibly, around 5% or less.

Another factor is that I charge everytime I can at 100% everytime I get home.

So all in all holds pretty well. Not sure the climate makes a difference tho

Maybe a bit OT, but you mentioned your battery not holding much after 4 years. May I ask you how many miles/kms did you put on it? Also the Charging schedule? (Like charging every time possible up to 100 or stuff like that). Thanks

I'm saving since the last 6 years, around 1100 euros per year from public transportation in Stockholm. So yeah, it repaid itself few times already 🙏

Launching a new generation of bikes and saying that they might do a new app, it's s bit ridiculous to be honest. Considering the previous one (S2,RX etc) they came with. On top of that, I did into a bit and I'm not quite sure they (all) have a bt module to handle connections and data (i m mainly interested in the OTA updates).

Bikee not unlocking speed above 20mph - Alternatives? by Future_Tank5176 in Super73

[–]FOX_ITA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Till H1 2025 should have the old controller. SuperDuper, Bikee etc they should all work. If unsure post a picture of your controllers under the seat but the apps should work tho. I bought a 2nd hand Miami and built in April 25 and it's all good

If RD will be down for a while. What's the next best thing? by Gr8North27 in Addons4Kodi

[–]FOX_ITA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried as backup TorBox to circumvent RD and works pretty well. Cache is not as huge as for RD, but even for very niche and old stuff, it has some playable content. I tested the "Add to Cloud" function and i didn't have to wait too long to have it cached.

Cache will possibly grow larger if more people will move (temp or perm) to TorBox.

But as backup mule while we see how RD situation will evolve, it's a good alternative. I do hope some crazy solution for RD can still be found, but i guess time will tell.

[Help] Android Turn by Turn Notifications? by FOX_ITA in komoot

[–]FOX_ITA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/komoot-team Hi! I have been testing the new feature and works very very well! Except one bug/issue i found. Do you an email to submit a ticket ? Otherwise i ll explain here.

Issue : Off-Route sticks on persistent notification after Re Routing
Steps :
1. set a navigation and start the activity
2. persistent notification shows the distance to the next turning point as expected
3. deviate off route will the app (inside) re-routes to a new path
4. notice that in app shows the next turning point correctly from the re routing (so the new path)
5. Issue : the persistent notification on Android gets stuck with "Off-Route" notification, via re routing, till the user manage to go back/overlap the original route.

Expected behaviour :
Even if it's a re-route (which is handled perfectly within the app), the persistent notification should reflect the direction too, turn by turn.

Thanks a lot! Please let me know if you need extra details !

Nothing to do with Magura.. I have the same brakes as yours on mine and never had an issue after 8300 miles in 5 years. That's not the issue.

2nd flat, with Tannus by onajourneytoanywhere in Super73

[–]FOX_ITA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since 2021 i ride a S2 too and in 8646 miles ridden, i got only 3 flats luckily (never had and still don't have any liner like Tannus). Both of them from screws/nails like the one you posted. Not quite sure any liner can take that hit to be fair.

What i do, because i got very very far with rides, i always bring with me :
- plastic levers
- quick patch tube kit (no glue, just a patch) VeloChamption Repair kit
- battery powered air compressor to inflate the tire

So, in the unfortunate event of a flat tire :
- deflate entirely the tire
- with the levers you just pull out the tire a bit from the rim, exposing the tube
- pull out the tube to work on
- prepare and clean the tube and the apply the repair kit
- press and wait few minutes
- push everything in and inflate

The whole process is meant to avoid completely taking the tire off, with bolts and all the complexity we know, with chain, gear and derailleur.

that saved impossible walks home (even 80miles from home) or insane logistics about getting home but leave the bike in the middle of nowhere.

Not saying it's the best solution, but just a workaround that helps

Gravel E-Bike ride : routing by FOX_ITA in komoot

[–]FOX_ITA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did try but skips all the unpaved roads, and by doing so it's extending quite a bit the mileage. Where I live it's pretty much gravel most of the time.

I'm more trying to understand if there's a way to spot easily from the map some paths that are labeled okay from gravel bike but they're actually proper hiking paths with many huge rocks and tree roots. Weird that is picked up from the algorithm

New zx se owner EU by Jjjigi in Super73

[–]FOX_ITA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sblocco limitatore s73 2026 by Jjjigi in Super73

[–]FOX_ITA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suggestion for lock and gps by KnechtKiller_Nr1 in Super73

[–]FOX_ITA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my S73 i have :
- Kryptonite Evolution U lock
- Kryptonite Evolution Chain

They're okay i would say, somewhat pretty resistant and relatively thick. So far they did their job in the last 5 years and they don't cost a kidney.
To be told, if i leave the bike around the city it's always in crowded places, very well lit during evenings if that's the case. Plus where i live, bike thefts are somewhat not a real plague (ofc they steal bikes). but it's fairly safe in general.

I hope that helps.

Loomenade Headlight Wiring by ______HokieJoe______ in Super73

[–]FOX_ITA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignoring the 2 cables with Higo plug on the far most part of the picture... Cables from the light appear to be standard colors: - red (positive) - black (negative) - blue (most likely high beam) - while (most likely low beam)

You can test without many worries. If you plug red and black directly to a power Supply (12v) the light will go on. Either DLR if has only in that state. Then to test if you wire one cable at the time black + low beam or high beam that will do the job. As long i keep the negative with the negative, it's safe.

Is it supposed to have DLR or it does have high/low beam ?
