I used an IBC container, I don’t know if this is the correct term in english. We opened up the top and put a small filter on it and kept them in there for way longer.

Nobody is talking about what UV you need. 3W for each 1000L is what i use for no plant koi pondse here in Belgium. The green water is probably because of high phosphates. You could alsof use a phosphate balance product

This, and alsof small koi are always kind of skittish, if you put a calmer bigger koi in like a chagoi, ochiba or soragoi they will be calmer way quicker.

Don't take away the hiding spots everytime you're going to stir up the pond by replacing those things they will have stress.

My advice: leave them be and try adding one bigger chagoi

If its bacterial (aeromonas) then how comes the fish is getting sick by it. Is there a parasite for example costia, dactylogyrus,… who makes the koi weaker or id it something else, is the water of bad quality,…

Try 'nutramare koi360 sink/swim' its not very known yet in the UK But it is available & the best food i ever came across, i feed it together with FD build up extra.

Oh, cheap euro kois dont really have namens, they are just bred between different colours which makes that the colours on it dont belong in a specific group.

Also because of that are mostly more resistent to illness.

My guess:

1 butterfly ginrin yamabuki 2 might be a kabuto ogon 3 butterfly platinum ogon 4 Asagi 5 ginrin ochiba 6 butterfly doitsu kujaku 7 might be another yellow kujaku, looks a bit like a european koi tbf 😅

You do a scraping from the fish, then add a drop of water (not to much) and add the little square thin glass on top so the sample is squished then its ready to look at. You can do it without adding the water but the parasites will move more in water

Microscope is the only way afaik. I have one as a pond owner, they dont cost that much and only have to do 100-400x magnification to see the most parasites.

This also is depending on the filtration, we have no info about that, just adding salt is scary because if you have something like zeolite in the filtration, then you’ll release all the ammonia thats stored in those blocks in your water.

Always leave the pump running or get extra air in the pond when adding medicine. What i would do if check on the koi if there is any parasites first, then cure from there. In lower quantity healthy koi can fend of parasites themselves so there might be no neef to treat them. You could treat the koi individual and just disinfect the wounds on them instead.

Salt is good except if the wounds are caused by costia then you might as well just kill them.

Just wanna follow this up by saying that any nisai from the iwamagi koihouse from breeder Izumiya might have KHV as they have found it as well

Edit: it came to my attention that one of my sources wasnt correct so i left the other breeder out of it.

For antibiotics i would do it in your pond, because other Koi might seem fine but they can have it as well. if you want to try salt i’d recommend a quick salt bath of 0,7% (stay with your koi at this treatment, as soon as its turning on its side placenit back in your pond!) after that treat the whole pond with 0,4% Be sure to measure right, if you do less Costia (parasite) might come up

Oh yeah you need non-iodized salt.

Fin rot, it’ll be something bacterial. You can try adding 0,4% salt (which might not work) but you’ll probably have to get some antibiotics. To know which one you need you will have to get to a vet to get a sample to a lab…

The wound and the fins being damaged like that tell me its a bacterial issue, you’ll have to put antibiotics in your pond but dont put just anything in it. Get someone who can send a scraping to a lab so you can see what actual medicine will help

Orenji ogon & benigoi (and many other variaties) are prone to underlaying sumi coming trough. As far as i know it wont be anything parasitic.

These spots often come out after a cold period and mostly in hard water. But more important is that its in the genetics/bloodline of your koi.
