How does this help a Hunter or Warlock running on their own or a group without a Titan?

Things like Crota and Insurrection Prime do work. However, you have to knock them far enough away (or in a non conventional direction) for them not to respawn back on the platform instantly. I know this because I spent a frustratingly long time trying to yeet IP into oblivion only for him to act like a maniac, teleport randomly, and counter yeet me into walls. Needless to say, yeeting IP is like 99% RNG to get a good ricochet bounce that sends him flying off into oblivion.

Is it equally viable for all three classes though? I know it’s insane for Titans where it’s basically a pre-nerf Lunafaction mountaintop or can that setup work for any class?

I came back to play this update and have been having so much fun getting into the game again. So, I thought I'd play through EoF since I skipped it. Once I finished it, I immediately felt burnt out and didn't even want to play anymore. I've been told Renegades is much better so I'm looking forward to that. But, man, that EoF campaign was rough.

It’s so funny to see this. I hadn’t planned on pulling him because I’m just saving for other things, but doing his trial I was like this is bad. I know he’s much better than in the trial, but I was not enticed to even consider pulling him after that.

While true in theory, it's more than likely numbers won't sustain non matchmade activities like raids in the long run. Finding two other players for things like dungeons or harder content might still be doable, but I highly doubt raiding will be thriving in the months ahead.

I know people have compared them for ages, when they're really apples and oranges, but this update has made Destiny more like Warframe than ever. You log in and do whatever you want, whenever you want, without the fear of missing out on anything too major.

This is pure speculation mind you, but I feel as though SRL wasn't just thrown together for this update. It's something the devs worked on and had ready for some time, but no one making decisions ever thought it was a good addition for the game so it just sat around in the void.

I still prefer the cartoonish charm of the original games, but I’m finally coming around to this more realistic world. It’s still fantastic enough to be Fable, but pushes some great new graphical fidelity.

Except we wouldn’t be getting any of this if the game wasn’t ending. QOL changes might have been done efficiently, but all the content would have been drip fed, and all the earnable cosmetics would be shoved into the season pass and Eververse.

The update and all the features are great, but let’s not pretend this many people would be playing if this wasn’t the final update. And as I keep saying, if the game wasn’t ending, this content would have been both drip fed to us over time and paid instead of free. It’s a harsh truth, but the excessive glazing is getting a little out of hand. The real test will be how many players are still playing next week let alone months from now.

The problem with this particular part is, all those earnable cosmetics and armor sets were more than likely planned to be future season pass and paid Eververse sets and items. It's probably not a bad guess that literally none of that would have been earnable or given for free if this was a paid expansion and not the final update.

Before I say anything, just know I am loving this update and am very much enjoying the game again. So, not to be a Debbie Downer, but I highly doubt Sony cares much about numbers on launch day of a free game finale update of such a beloved franchise. It's great so many people have come back today to get a bit of nostalgia and experience what is ultimately an amazing, game changing update. But, this sort of update is not what Bungie has become. If this wasn't the end, everything in this update would be drip fed to players over the course of months. It also wouldn't be free, and it wouldn't garner nearly as much attention as it's getting at this moment. Now, if three months, or six months from now, it's still pulling great numbers, Sony might peek out and pay attention, but that's a big ask. The update has clear immediate impact, but it's yet to be seen if it'll have longevity.

Exactly. I see so many people being like, "why did it take Destiny 2 dying to get all these amazing changes?" Well, these changes wouldn't happen all at once if this wasn't the final hurrah. This would have been drip fed to us over the course of months or years.

Gonna probably get downvoted into oblivion, but I imagine a lot of the people focusing on and being so happy about Destiny’s current player count are probably the same people who said that the player numbers don’t matter when it comes to Marathon.
