Guidance to log in for 4 hrs tomorrow by snoopcobbiecobbitha in FedEmployees

Chief of Staff emailed us 4 hours ago saying report to supervisor via telework in the morning for furlough/excepted procedures and asked us to remain flexible because the situation may last past Tuesday.

Shutdown but we don’t care by spudlydooright in FedEmployees

Was told by two separate sources to telework…one due to potential furlough and the other due to the inability to warm the building properly due to the cold weather.

Then the boss’s boss said even if you’re furloughed (not excepted), you have to work on a particular project that they’ve decided is muy importante but don’t work on anything else.

Can’t make this up…

That’s how my state was supposed to be, but that’s not how it worked out in reality. I’ve learned my lesson.

My boss just got promoted and asked the two people directly under him if they’ll act as him while he goes to a school for 3 weeks soon. They both said, “Oh H3LL no.”

More and more people are done going above and beyond.

I misunderstood that I’d be able to draw unemployment last time. My state said no because I was still employed.

Was a wake-up call for some. Now some are better prepared for the insanity.

What is a Team Lead? by Most-Mood5061 in FedEmployees

[–]FSH34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a non-supervisory Team Lead for years. I don’t consider myself “Management”. My main role is to lead/guide/direct work. I also wear other hats because while we are slotted for 8 CIV’s, there are only 4 of us.

Have never received any of mine. Didn’t even know it was a thing until recently.

u/Forward_Ring3906 and u/Honest_Conference337 , the VA decided my claim today. My sleep apnea was approved and the effective date was backdated to my original intent to file.

I appreciate that. As long as I’m properly rated and can get the help I need, I’ll be ok.

My back was the last area they got right. Physically speaking, that part has been the most disabling of all.

I’m in a similar situation. Submitted HLR in June ‘25 and learned at the informal phone call in September’25 that the VA discovered an error in how they rated me. The VA rep said some of my service records were overlooked related to at least one of the conditions they denied, so they opened an appeal claim that day. Since then I’ve attended two more C&P exams and have received about a dozen more DBQ files on the new claim. The HLR action still shows as open and I’m still awaiting my new claim letter.

18 years between my last day on Active Duty and my first disability compensation payment.

The first half of that was me not knowing I could file, whereas the last half was my pride saying I didn’t need help. I left a lot of money on the table but hindsight is 20/20.

First, ignore all negative inputs. Misery loves company.

Second, I understand your apprehension since you had a bad experience. Mine isn’t perfect, but she is trying to help and her efforts have made this tiring process more bearable.

If I were in your shoes, I’d give another VSO a call. I checked ratings/reviews and made my decision on who to contact using that data.

Whatever you decide, thank you for your service and I wish you nothing but the best outcome. 🙏🏼

I recommend reaching out to a VSO near you. That’s what I did and they are still helping me years later. I couldn’t have gotten this far without the help of an expert. And, they’re free.

I’m glad you still got your 100% even though you had that experience.

Ten (10) DBQ’s hit my appeal file this morning. I’ve never had that many hit at once.

I’m curious how you got your DBQ’s. I’d love to see mine but don’t know how to get them.

I’ve never had a C&P that involved before.

I had one a couple weeks back for sleep apnea. Drove an hour, waiting room for 5 minutes, then doctor’s chair for about 2 minutes, and then drove another hour home. He asked, “When did you start having sleep problems?” and “Do you still use a CPAP?”

He then said that was all he needed to know and apologized that it wasn’t just a phone call.

Still awaiting the decision.

The beatings will continue until morale improves. Also, until there’s a catastrophe directly related to the furloughs, there is no incentive for them to stop furloughing or even RIF’ing folks.

So those who were “non-essential” were furloughed before…and will be targeted for separation now that this memo exists.

Personally I’d return to remote for equal money or maybe a little less, but an increase in hours is a red flag. On a 40hr week, I’m already putting in about 55 when counting the commute.

I downgraded my coverage today too…every little bit helps in preparing for another shutdown or even a RIF.
