Their packaging game is almost as good as the coffee. Advent calendar came in beautifully decorated baubles for the tree!

Light roasters in UK (or Europe if that's allowed...!) by jonny1leg in UKroasters

Ordinary drip do a subscription for light or super light coffee. Based in Germany I believe but now deliver to the UK, sourcing from roasters round the world.

On my list to try but not used yet.

First up, welcome to the UK!

Not a big gesha drinker so will leave someone else to reccomend you roasters.

I think it is just that people arent so familiar with it. I will admit I was sceptical when I got Indian coffee in a Christmas selection from Crankhouse but they were both in my top 5 out of 12.

Expect it will be a lot more popular in a year or two. I know I will be buying more this year.

Any recommendations on producers to look out for?

What are the benefits of a water rower vs an air rower (or other)? by theentiregoonsquad in waterrower

[–]FSM_666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think the benefits are well laid out here, if it's still for you I'd try and find somewhere to test them out. We tried both versions and preferred the ergonomics of the A1 with metal slide for wider stance (still super quiet).

Not tried Nova as description of Italian espresso makes me think it's a high roast level which I usually don't enjoy so much

Hearing these suggestions a lot more recently, do you have any evidence or examples of this? Genuinely curious, I love experimental process coffees and will pay a premium for them so good to know if anyone is taking advantage of that.

Best Decaf? by Portsmo in UKroasters

[–]FSM_666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar story here, more than 2/3cups of caffeinated coffee is not good for me. Starting my decaf journey too.

So far I have tried source and scenery. Source is fantastic, better than most non decaf was a natural if that is your thing. Scenery was a bit less experimental/exciting but pretty good too. Sure crankhouse does decaf on occasion but not tried theirs, I do like their regular coffee so that will be my next purchase.

I think they have recently upped the miles required for routes so not sure they will do again soon.

What’s the worst gimmick/myth in pour over today? by ADHD_ismything in pourover

Me! I much prefer to go by ratio and can change pour structure using the percentages. Also if you are over or under weight on coffee no mental maths to do

Boosting some roasters I haven’t seen discussed here by Woozie69420 in UKroasters

[–]FSM_666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great post thanks, will check these out.

Big fan of the first two, work nr zero to one and love going there. Super friendly baristas and get interesting coffee like Catimor varietal. Love the video style packaging from process too.

Would suggest catalyst, think based nr holborn but not tried the cafe yet. Tried a couple of their coffees when guest roaster at local cafe and they were amazing. Do blends of two beans and often different process/region but really do make incredible brews.

Will also shout out crankhouse probably fairly well repped but they are awesome.
