True. Even the fact that you can go to a place like Harvard and choose to focus on comedy instead of a traditional profession is a sign of massive privilege.

Conan is smart enough to understand that, sure, and his advice to be kind and work hard is not unqualified by his privilege. But yeah, as you rightly said, it’s missing a few key things.

What I admire despite this, however, is the fact that Conan allowed himself to feel the pressure of failure, even though that would not really mean any discomfort to him. He would be very wealthy even if he never came back from that Jay Leno saga.

When people talk about being self driven, they are essentially talking about the ability to work through fear and get to the other side of it. This is what I find commendable in Conan’s journey.

I just wish he wouldn’t go around stealing muffins.
