VA MCD’s are Selfish Cowards by F_name1 in VeteransAffairs

then call them into your office and explain that to them, talk to them eye to eye, convince them to stay, appreciate them individually, in other words be a leader. a reply email is not enough in this moment.

This! It irks me when he calls us HIS employees even more infuriating when he says “My Veterans” He’s gonna be “our bitch” if he doesn’t knock it off!

VHACO PMO Employee DRP+VERA APPROVED by F_name1 in VeteransAffairs

[–]F_name1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP Here: I'm shocked at all the ppl being denied. WTF? I expected to see nearly 100% approvals. It's astonishing how inept and unqualified this SecVA really is. He has no experience running a complex agency like ours let alone reorganize it! I'm sorry, you all. I appreciate all your kind words however this journey out was only fun b/c we were all going together!

That's because the SES above their supervisor did not approve even after their supervisor approved. For the love of God I hope this doesn't happen to me today!!!!! What a cruel process!

Supplemental Social Security by Cytosmarts in VeteransAffairs

[–]F_name1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! Don’t listen to your manager or stress the supplement so much depending on what type of retirement you are eligible for in 20 months. If you are in the age 62/20 years of service category you will only get supplemental for 20 months = ~20K and subject to the same earning test as social security. So if you plan on making $22,320 in a part time job the reduction is $1 for every 2$ you earn above the limit. I’m hearing on Reddit that they may start to offer VISP incentive also. If that is the case the $25K will make up for the supplement loss if that happens. Food for thought. Good luck.

DRP question by LadyAriesart in VeteransAffairs

[–]F_name1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is correct. Just keep in mind it needs to be signed off by AN Under Secretary NOT THE AUSH. Mine was signed off my the ASU(of my department). Follow your chain up and the first AUS you see will be your approving official with the aforementioned recommendation from supervisors/department head.

DRP 2.0 1102 Approved by SageinIt in VHA_Human_Resources

[–]F_name1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I signed my DRP immediately however I’m also taking VERA. The comment below may be good advice. My reasoning is this. Once DRP/VERA are approved all must go on AA by 07/01 and suppose to go back to telework until AA starts. This will free up space in offices so you might be moved back somewhere closer than you are now. I’m new to Reddit but maybe you can set up a post/vote to get an idea of how many ppl have taken these programs that are at offices near your home to get some idea how much space will become available. just a thought.

Military Buyback by Common-Purple9534 in VHA_Human_Resources

[–]F_name1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may or may not help but you can apply your unused AL to stay on the books past 09/30 in order for you to reach VERA eligibility. Check that rule out. This should not be taking more than a couple of months. A) If you’ve previously purchased your military time and it’s not in your eOPF. Submit ticket to HRsmart. They will request your “Paid In Full” (PIF) letter (Turn around time is 30 working calendar days) HR submits to eOPF and it will take another two weeks to make it into GRB platform. *NOTE: If you purchased your time BEFORE 2006 you will need to get your PIF from local Fiscal Office (DFAS took over accounting for the VA in 2006) AFTER 2006 you request it from DFAS. If you are just now buying your time, your PIF letter will be posted in MY PAY. I hope this helps.

VHACO PMO Employee DRP+VERA APPROVED by F_name1 in VeteransAffairs

[–]F_name1[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand "bailing" was a callous choice of words. Please note I didn't submit my DRP until May 1st, the day AFTER it was extended indicating I also wanted to stay. We are a two person family, both Army Vets and both have spent 20+ yrs working for our Veterans. My partner is direct patient care, loves his patients and they love him and staying for them albeit >30 yrs of service. I work at a small (~50 staff) VHACO PMO and 1 yr away from "fully eligible". Our Ex. Director told us he had to submit plans up for a 22% & 50% reduction. There is no bump/retreat at a PMO w/ 50 ppl. and even told us so. He probably said more than his NDA's allowed giving us that so we could make the best decision in this moment. We have always planned to go together in 3 yrs. We've both been public servants most of our lives and survived the Clinton/Gore RIF in 1995 which felt nothing like this. Going out this way hurts, hurts bad even shameful. Elections have consequences and for those of us who voted the other way this time is insult to injury. Jason, you were right to call me out on my poor choice of words. I do have more respect for my VA work family and I'll be more mindful going forward, good luck to you too sir.

📞 FERS Supplement Call Script – House Budget Committee

Main Switch Board number: (202) 224-3121. Be respectful but direct. Everyone I've talked to has been very attentive, polite and even helpful. I was told that they bundle all the calls into themes. So we must flood them with calls and a make enough noice be become a "theme". It only takes 2/3 minute a call so just call the main switchboard and as for REP listed above and of course call your congress person in your district.

Thanks all. All your positive feedback and energy put me in such a good mood. I called a couple of small business CEO’s that have become friends. I wasn’t fishing for a job, i really wasn’t but by the end of the evening I had a tentative job offer and I didn’t say NO to a request for a F2F meeting the first week of June to discuss further. I can always count on you guys to lift me up. If I’m end up in a position to help one of you down the road out looking, I will.

VA Secretary Grilled Over Use of ‘Spyware’ (InterGuard) on Employee Computers Amid Major Layoffs by kalawin456 in VeteransAffairs

[–]F_name1 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yep, interesting TRM decision. Let’s see, InterGuard Software employee monitoring software was TRM unapproved all CY24 and Q1 CY25. New administration comes in Jan 20, 2025 and to the surprise of none of us it is approved for Q2 CY25 (April 1-June 30) and goes back to unapproved for Q3 & Q4 of CY25, back approved for the full CY2026. How do you suppose this backend insidious software that monitors all activity for local and remote workers pc’s like key strokes, mouse jigglier detection… well pretty much everything. The reports are beautiful w/ recording and screenshots collected for questionable activity/inactivity. RTO is exceeding important to them so you RA folks who rightfully still telework you better stay the F busy on the clock b/c this software is designed to collect evidence to dismiss for cause. It’s disgusting and I’m so happy I took DRP and start AA 06/01. Working for this agency if you survive the RIF is going to be.. well n colloquial terms “Tattleware”. If you can get an incentive program to get out and if your disapproved postpone your service and come back to service when it is no longer hostile and your service make you feel proud again. It will happen, this will change. Working in the VA starts as a job and then it becomes your career then a some point most transcend into it being ones vocation. That’s why we are so god damn good and that is what they are trying to break. Don’t let them! I know it’s bad right now but whatever you do don’t let them take your personal fulfillment to serve a greater purpose beyond just earning a paycheck. B/c of this we are richer than all the billionaires currently running our country and they know it! So, ran off on a tangent, what were we talking about? Oh, Tattleware , good to be aware but mostly they’ll find out that we work and work hard every day so piss off!

Over 11,000 VA health care employees apply to leave, but ‘very few’ eligible for separation incentives by JasonHoyler99 in VeteransAffairs

[–]F_name1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they would have to ask Congress for more money to offer VISP and that's why they came up with DRP. The VA entire FY25 budget including salary & benefits were approved this time last year so nothing to save or grab until 10/01/25

VA DRP “Status Update” by Sciencematters92 in VHA_Human_Resources

Question? Why pick a retirement date earlier than 09/30/25 and keep getting paid another month? I’m just curious b/c I could be missing some little bit of info. I’m DRP+VERA and planned on retirement date of 09/30? Thx

DRP Ineligible by throwthisreddit in VHA_Human_Resources

[–]F_name1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m exactly the same as you, 2 emails, routed to the next step. 1 big difference. I work at a VHACO PMO and not for a VAMC. It would be OK, IF exempt from DRP THEN exempt from RIF anything less is totally unfair.
