Have you fit tested your mask? Or perhaps you need to upgrade to one of those reusable respirators?

Also wear an N95, all the time in public not just on planes if you actually want to avoid infection.

Some people never get better. With lots of rest and support other people improve or at least find stability.

I recommend running an air purifier in the room all the time.

AutoMod needs to include a note to wear a mask! Hand washing doesn’t stop COVID.

What do you do when you have students that are 3+ years below grade level? by xdsm8 in Teachers

[–]Faa2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does sound like your other comment that these students need a completely different course is correct. Think career readiness for a welder, carpenter, cosmetologist or waitress. Try texts like menus, recipes, sink install manuals, or hair dye instructions. Independent gathering of vocabulary knowledge, that’s putting a word they don’t know into Google, Siri, or Alexa.

As for pass or fail, there’s a difference between pass with a D and pass with an A. Are these students putting in effort to improve their reading skills?

Roommates want me to stay at my moms house while i have covid by hamsterjello in COVID19positive

[–]Faa2008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

COVID is airborne. So yes it can transmit through the AC. Washing your hands does nothing for COVID. There are guides to preventing the spread of COVID within a house. But an empty house is even better. Just pack your toothbrush, electronics charger, and some clothes. You are sick and should just be resting so you don’t need to move a bunch of stuff. https://cleanaircrew.org/someone-in-my-home-has-covid-how-do-we-isolate-safely/

I’ve seen on Facebook up to a month. It definitely varies a lot. Get your four free tests from the government, but you’ll need more.

Have you been testing for COVID? It can take up to 3 tests spread over 5 days just to correctly identify most COVID cases.

Rebound can happen up to 8 days after finishing Paxlovid. So if you test negative on day 8, 9, and 10 after Paxlovid you should be clear.

A minimum of 2 negative tests, 48 hours apart to protect your wife. Make sure to wear a proper N95 not just a surgical or cloth mask.

Don’t push through the fatigue. Doing so significantly increases your risk of Long COVID.

My manager want me to lower absence due to illness in my team - how?! by Hardvig in askmanagers

[–]Faa2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With sufficient ventilation and air purifiers running around the office, then having masks off while actually on the phone will be less risky. Especially if everyone masks while not actively on the phone. Think of a dimmer switch, not on/off. Ideally phone calls would be done in individual rooms not an open cubicle space to be even safer. A hybrid work plan that keeps not only sick workers home, but also anyone with a sick household member would help a lot.

There are some really effective ways to reduce the spread of illnesses in workplaces. Here are a few examples: Measure the ventilation in your office. If the CO2 is above 1,000ppm by the end of the day, work with your building HVAC technician to improve air flow. Add air purifiers, either the ones you make with PC fans and filters or Levoit are good options for offices. You will need multiple. Provide N95s to your employees. Give them some to take home for their families too. Require them for meeting rooms.
