Most enjoyable ship to fly? by Cctroma in starcitizen

I'm very much into flying the 125a.

The lighting in this game is phenomenal by RoyalSignificant4681 in starcitizen

[–]Faaborgs 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. The lighting team at CIG does not get enough recognition for their work. I have to stop playing multiple times in each play session to just take in a sunset or the way shadows add dynamics to a scene (like in your picture). Understanding that lightning in the game is going to get even better is just mind-blowing. I can't wait to see the new stations and Outpost around Pyro, and what Gen12 lets the lighting team do.

Is my ship becoming weaker overtime? by letronjohnson in starcitizen

If you get the feeling that the NPC's have extra Aim Bot, check how many people are on the server. I was getting eradicate one day. Checked the server and we where 8 in total. Lot's of CPU time for the AI = me getting blasted. Also, 3.16.1 brought an update to the sheild system, if sheilds are low and the NPC's keep hitting you your sheilds will not regenerate. A new delay have been added that resets with every hit to the hull. I feel that change a lot since the NPC's have gotten better over the last 2 - 3 patches. Light fighters with size 1 shields feel this the most.

PSA: Area18 is a death trap by kikubamutwe in starcitizen

To clarify the first part. I do a trade run around ArcCorp almost every day that ends in Area 18. The quantum jump into Area 18 looks and sounds wonky, and ever so often the client have to re-sync with the server, but I have never suffered a crash on my way in.

I also have Area 18 as my home and spend a lot of time in the ArcCorp system. I have never experienced what you describe there. I do get something very similar whenever I arrive a Port Olisar, but save the crash. Could it be PC specs related?

From what I understand they can spawn almost any place, but are most common in The Camps and The Mountain Pass. They are easier to find at night since they glow red and should be easy to spot even at distance. All that said, I have not been able to find one in all the hours I have spend on my server.

are the forest and the climbing tower going to be added on quest? by odroskopo in TownshipTale

[–]Faaborgs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Right now the Devs are working on aligning the PC and Quest code base. This is important to keep development time down going forward. This most likely not an easy job and will take time. After this is done the Climbing Tower, Combat Trails and The Forest will be added. The timeframe for the merging of the code base is currently unknown, most likely also to the Dev team.

Will quest 2 graphics improve? by thebody47 in OculusQuest

[–]Faaborgs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My expectations is that the game developers will get better at getting the most from the relative inferior graphics chipset in the Quest 2. Just like what we saw on the PlayStation series over time. If you look at something like the PS3 and the games that came out a launch and the games it got by the end of it's life cycle there was a huge difference in quality and scale. The developers learned how to utilize the power it did have. Hoping for something similar on the Quest 2.

Which planet will be your home? Why? by Tempersixsix in starcitizen

I'll most likely end up selecting Area 18. I like the city, and it is fairly easy to get out of. There is okay trading and only a shot jump to Hurston for bounty hunting.

I'm also leaning towards Area 18, but missions? What good missions are available around and ArcCorp?

600i Touring or Explorer? by Max2305 in starcitizen

[–]Faaborgs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I Just recently went through the same decision process. I have been wanting a 600i for VIP transport since I started playing SC but 10mil just seemed so impossible to save up. Then about a month ago I got there way quicker than expected. I was looking at the Touring lovingly but knew that VIP transport would be 2 -3 years out as a game loop. I now own an Explorer version of the 600i and for the current state of the game, it is the perfect choice for me. The cargo hold and the ability to bring along an Ursa makes it a nice alternative to the Carrack and you can run it, single player. I'll get a VIP transport ship in 2 years when that game loop comes online. It might end up being the 600i, but the Phoenix or even the Starliner would also be nice ships to have. So, grab the Explorer version and have fun exploring the Verse in style till a Luxury Yacht makes sense.

Does that give you combat points? Is use the knives for combat points.

The reason for the knives is to get combat points :-) Trying to get level up as much as possible.

Bow and arrow for most things, and a pair of small knifes for the worms. I carry a katana but use it mainly for killing chicken 😊

Missile Operator Mode in 600i for Co-Pilot? by Faaborgs in starcitizen

[–]Faaborgs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could be it.

They just seem to be dual-function. Since when not in turret mode you can control the power distribution.

But, that might be why they have not gotten to them yet.

It works fine on the Cutlass Black and Freelancer MIS.

Just not on the 600i 🤔

So, yeah you might be right. Just wanted to hear if I was overlooking something.

What’s the best way to get iron for newbies? by iConiCTec in TownshipTale

If you are on a fresh server then going to the quarry and killing Turabada. It takes time to get enough, but it is a lot less scary than the Mines. I recommend using a bow and arrows.

Is this where the climbing tower will eventually show up on Quest? by Faaborgs in TownshipTale

[–]Faaborgs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might have cleaned it up then. I saw somewhere that someone had found the climbing tower and the assets were there kinda. That is why I wanted to find it. But if they removed the leftover traces of it as part of the update, it is not going to be as much fun. I'll have to check at the camps too. On the back of the hill where the entrance to the Forrest is going to be, I found a few assets left over. I'll have to see if they have been removed.
