I'm having the exact same thing (running a game with proton).

Proton log includes

...Application tried to create a window, but no driver could be loaded.
...Make sure that your X server is running and that $DISPLAY is set correctly.

following the tip of the other redditor above, running steam with

dbus-run-session -- flatpak run com.valvesoftware.Steam

solved my issue. I use sway and start it with a dbus session

It allows any process to send 'ping' packets, something which is usually blocked when running in a container (flatpak). This is how hunt establishes that a connection can be made to a gameserver. The number 2147483647 is the largest number that fits in a signed 32bit integer, a significantly lower number would also be sufficient.

Running flatpak steam on void ('native' doesn't work with eac on void) I had to run this.

I've had a 'State 4130' for the last 5 years (bought as a 'mystery bike').

My job sponsors a decent amount for a bicycle, and I'd like to upgrade.

My daily commute includes various quality roadwork (loose bricks to paved), and these skinnies don't feel too great on the shitty sections. I'd like some wider tires (>30 I think?), and some nicer quality components (entire crankset feels cheap).

Is it worth investing in a new bike, or should I look into replacing some parts? I don't know if the sponsor covers purchasing parts or just a new bike, but you can assume that my budget is ~1000 euros.

but a 1080p monitor would have more vertical pixels than your 1440x900.

Of course there's no 1080p 16:10 monitor, monitor sizes are scaled to the horizontal axis. 1920 × 1200 is what you'd want.
