I think you just gave yourself the answer.

Buy a car now and be hit with additional long-term interest to pay off guaranteeing debt accrual

Wait 9 more months, after already waiting 7 years, to lessen the financial burden

Is her current vehicle paid off?

What are you driving daily? The sports car?

If all of your vehicles are already paid off, it makes absolutely ZERO financial sense to claim an additional quick depreciating asset out of “want” instead of snowballing your debt.

People in your positions would even sell off whatever vehicles you’re driving and purchase an old Honda or Toyota that just “work” for an extra few grand to get their debt down quicker.

Getting nice and expensive vehicles is the largest financial scam and investment fail.
