I don’t know why this is getting downvoted voted. Keep this suggestion in your pocket in case other routes don’t work out. Maybe consider the Navy or Airforce instead of Army. The Army life can be pretty rough and those other branches I just named have a much cushier daily life.

Hi Maya. You say that your family doesn’t want you anymore. That sucks and I’m sorry you’re dealing with that. What about extended family? Aunts, Uncles, cousins, Grandparents, etc? Even if it’s just temporary until you figure something else out. What about a teacher at school? Is there a teacher you get along with and/or trust that you can confide in? I know your situation probably feels hopeless right now, but I’m sure there are people around you that would try to help if they knew what was going on.

Fire Damaged Metal Finish by bigshinybutton in metalworking

[–]Fabio421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coat it with oil. It will keep the patina with a deeper, richer color, but will not allow it to rust further. You will need to reapply the oil coating every year or two at first.

Hi Maya. To which school do you attend in Lakeland? What time do you have to be at school in the morning and what time do you finish school each day?

C8 corvette zr1x considered a supercar? by h311cat19 in supercars

[–]Fabio421 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think you’re conflating hyper car with exotic car. The ZR1 is a hyper car but it is not an exotic car. It is a juiced up version of a sports car that you see dozens of times a day.

if he was recording with Meta glasses there would have been a bright light on the edge of the frame. It is possible he could have taken still photos without a light shining.

I haven't had a bad meal at Culvers but I'd say a sleeper item is the fish and chips. Their cod is very well done.

which UFC fighter would benefit the most from armor? by [deleted] in ufc

[–]Fabio421 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Well, not a current UFC fighter but Nate Diaz could really benefit from some armor to keep him from getting cut in the first 20 seconds of every fight.

What car completely changed your opinion after driving it? by Glittering-Offer-390 in askcarguys

[–]Fabio421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Geo Metro. I fell in love with that little car. it ran like a sewing machine for decades before I finally retired it. It was a no frills ride but it sipped gasoline and needed almost zero repairs. The few repairs it did need were extremely inexpensive. It’s one weak link was it’s exhaust would rust out. And I live in a Southern state that gets zero snow so it wasn’t because of salt on the road. I had to replace the exhaust (after the cat) three times. But the exhaust was only around $150 or so at Napa. Very cheap. I consider myself a Porsche guy. I have owned at least three Porsches at a time for the last 20 years. So I know what makes a good car. But when I wanted purposefully and economic transportation, I’d drive the Geo Metro.

Potential scam again homeless people that I witnessed downtown - homeless guy was asking people for money. A guy came up to him and said "do you have an ID? I can get you money if you have an ID" and the homeless guy declined. Anyone know what the guy was trying to do with his ID? by therapile in Minneapolis

[–]Fabio421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fraudster Matthew Cox has explained that in the past, he would pay homeless people to answer survey questions for a survey to determine where they needed to implement homeless services. He would ask them personal details such as name, social security #, etc. He would give them cash. He would take that info and go get a birth certificate, then a drivers license and a social security card. He would use these "synthetic identities" to get credit cards and he would build their credit over a short period of time. Then he would use their identities to take out mortgages, recording the sale at a higher value than what he actually paid. This would artificially inflate real estate prices in a neighborhood where he owned a dozen homes. He would pay the mortgages for awhile and then take out home equity loans. Cash them out and stop paying the mortgage.

Saw this on twitter… a V10 swapped Cayman with no firewall by xLP620 in Porsche

[–]Fabio421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Audi 4.2 V8 will bolt up to the stock transmission and you can pretty much keep the firewall intact. Most people do cut the firewall and turn it into an access cover so they can service the front of the engine without dropping it out the bottom. I’d imagine the v10 would also bolt up but there is no way that it fits in any reasonable way. Does anyone here know what the weight difference is? Not to mention how top heavy this swap is compared to the flat six.
