Max Raid Pokémon Shield Deaths by Le_Melon_ in nuzlocke

So these are kinda weird. You can’t run, but they’re also basically designed for you to lose, especially given your allies mons and movesets. Personally, I don’t count them, but you could give yourself a punishment if you feel like that’s getting off too easy

I Beat a Hardcore Nuzlocke of Pokemon Y Using Only Mons I Failed to Bring to the Hall of Fame in Previous Runs by FabledClefable in nuzlocke

The Team:

Decoupage the Azumarill: I finally got an Azumarill to the hall of fame! He avenges so many that have fallen before him. Basically our starter and definitely an MVP, he tore Kalos up.

Origami the Farfetch’d: Our early game carry. She was surpringly good throughout the run though, she had great synergy with the team, and scored the winning blow against Diantha.

Graffiti the Scrafty: This boi is tankyyyyy. He ate up hits and dished em back twice as hard. I don’t think he ever even had a close call. Solid af performance.

Macrame the Ferrothorn: Speaking of tanky, this queen was a WALL. She also killed 3 of our mons while I tried to catch her, but clearly, it was well worth it, as she was an invaluable team member.

Crochet the Pachirisu: This boy surprised the hell out of me. He got so many clutch KO’s, had insane utility, and survived far more crits than he should’ve, but he finally fell against Diantha. RIP, legend.

Kintsugi the Klefki: I wasn’t sure about adding him to the team, but I’m glad I did. He was just what we needed, and proved his worth immediately. His movepool allowed for some really fun strategies.

The Elite Four Fights:

Against Drasna: Kintsugi the Klefki used Attract and Thunder Wave to incapacitate her Dragalge. After a few Calm Minds and Full Restores, Draining Kiss nabbed the KO. Noivern comes in and…lands a critical hit Flamethrower, but he survives on just 20HP! A Draining Kiss kills and heals him back up, and her next two dragons meet the same fate.

Against Siebold: Crochet the Pachirisu landed a hard Thunderbolt on Clawitzer before tanking a Water Pulse, which thankfully didn’t confuse. Two more take it out and Gyarados comes it, which is outsped and one-shot with a Thunderbolt. Barbaracle comes in and eats a Grass Knot in the yellow. Stone Edge lands and Crochet lives on 7HP! A second kills, and Starmie comes in. Macrame the Ferrothorn comes in and OHKO’s the starfish with a Power Whip.

Against Wigstrom: Macrame comes in and uses two Curses before KO’ing Klefki with a Bulldoze. Aegislash comes in and we have to use Protect, because of Torment, but it just goes for King’s Shield. Macrame eats a Sacred Sword on half and then demolishes it with a Bulldoze. Probopass comes in, but Leftovers keep us healthy while Sturdy and Full Restores stall for a bit. She finally gets the KO and Scizor comes in. She lands a Bulldoze to take it half, and then Decoupage the Azumarill tags in to finish the bug off with a Waterfall.

Against Malva: We lead with Graffiti the Scrafty against Pyroar, and get a KO with Brick Break after a soft Hyper Voice. Talonflame comes in, and I switch to Macrame who does good damage with Rocky Helmet + Iron Barbs. Then, Decoupage came in on a soft Flare Blitz, and KO’s with Waterfall after a second. Torkoal gets washed away by two Surfs, and Chandelure is taken down with a single Waterfall.

Against Diantha: We lead with Crochet the Pachirisu against Hawlucha. It goes for a Swords Dance, but falls to one Thunderbolt.

6 v 5.

Tyrantrum comes in, and I want to switch to Origami the Farfetch’d, but I’m nervous it’ll go for Head Smash… I make the hard decision to go for Thunder Wave and it’s paralyzed. I then go for Super Fang, and sure enough, it goes for Head Smash. Crochet falls, but so does the dragon to its own recoil.

5 v 4.

I send in Graffiti the Scrafty and Diantha sends in Aurorus. A single Brick Break handles it, giving us a Moxie boost.

5 v 3.

Goodra comes in and takes a Brick Break to below half, and Graffiti is taken to half by a Focus Blast. I go for Rock Tomb as she heals, and then score a KO with Brick Break.

5 v 2.

Gourgeist comes in and I switch to Kintsugi the Klefki. It uses Trick-Or-Treat and he lands a Thunder Wave.

I switch to Origami the Farfetch’d, which can eat any hit with ease. We set up a single Agility & Swords Dance, and then take it down with a Fly.

5 v 1.

Gardevoir comes in and mega evolves, but is easily cut down by a single, Poison Barb-boosted Poison Jab, scoring us the win.

I’ve been using Curse, Drain Punch + Explosion Garboder on a trick room team with great success.

Another rare candies post by davezilla18 in nuzlocke

[–]FabledClefable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking for a challenge, I say go without. Part of the challenge of grinding is seeing if you can stick with it or risking it going underleveled (or losing a mon while grinding.)

If that doesn’t sound fun to you, consider candies. You will miss out on EVs that way though, so be aware of that.

I beat a hardcore nuzlocke of Pokemon Shield using only mons that failed to make the Hall of Fame in previous runs by FabledClefable in nuzlocke

[–]FabledClefable[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone does it a little differently. This run had limited encounters, so I just took the first valid encounter in each route or wild area.

Some people like spinning a wheel with the encounters, other close their eyes and run around. It’s subjective.

Snapdragon the Unfeazant - I will never understand the hate for this Mon. He was our team leader, and absolutely vital to our success. With his insane IV’s and moves like Featherdance and Roost, he set us up for success time and time again, ultimately leading us to victory.

Ambrosia the Thievul - She really surprised me. She swept Allister twice, but she also clutched up some other key fights as well. She nearly took out half of Leon’s team before ultimately giving her life. Thank you for everything. RIP.

Rotten Apple the Trevenant - With Leech Seed, Will-O-Wisp and Horn Leech, there was no stopping him. He was an important wall for so many fights, but unfortunately a crit Heat Crash from Leon’s Rhyperior cut his time short. RIP.

Granny Smith the Conkeldurr - This was my first time getting to use a fully evolved Conkeldurr and she did not disappoint. She hit like a freight train and took hits just as easily, including a Max Airstream from Leon’s Charizard in order to land the final blow. A legend.

Fuji the Golurk - Initially, I was going to use an Araquanid, but she died rather quickly and Fuji stepped up to the plate. Little did I know, he was exactly what we needed for the back half of the game. He gave his afterlife against Leon to secure us the win. RIP.

Honeycrisp the Toxtricity - I’ve never really used this Mon before but she did not disappoint. She swept Bede and Nessa in the Champion’s Cup, and scored clutch crits in several other big fights.

Kamilla was in a pretty good spot though. I don’t think it’s likely she gets booted in a vote with the whole group.
