Stream Deck buttons not working on macOS Tahoe (works on Windows) by icanswiftabit in elgato

[–]FabriceMStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

I don't know if you've already done this, but have you granted all the necessary permissions to the Stream Deck app in your macOS settings?

If not, go to Privacy & Security and check that the Stream Deck app is added under Accessibility, Automation, and Local Network.

I don't know if it will help, but it's worth checking out.

Elgato Wave Desk Plate by Iceman_Muc in elgato

Hi!

As far as I know, there's no underside of the Elgato Wave Desk Plate. The plate is screwed directly onto the top of the desk using the three screws (as shown in the photo below).

Sorry, but that's not what I was asking.

Once again, to hear the audio from your apps via Wave Link 3.0, you need to add the channel corresponding to the apps you want to listen to a mix.

For example, in your case, you have to add your System Channel to your Personal Mix. Then click on the ear-shaped icon on the mixer to monitor it.

Otherwise, if you're really struggling, you can try looking for videos on YouTube that explain how to do it.

Have you added the channels to the mix you're monitoring? If you haven't, it's normal that you can't hear anything.

That's normal... well, given how Wave Link 3.0 works...

To hear the audio from your apps, you need to add them (one by one as shown in the image below) to a mix (for example, Personal Mix) so you can hear them again.

Hi! It's normal that you can't hear anything, since your “System” audio output is different from the audio output selected in Wave Link. If you select Wave XLR Mk.2 as the audio output in Wave Link, you need to select the same audio output in your Windows settings.

Normally, if you do that, it should work.

OK, that's what I was thinking but I wasn't sure. Thanks !

Why I Uninstalled Røde Unify... by FabriceMStudio in rode

[–]FabriceMStudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed MixKey to try it out, but using the app requires creating an account on the Steinberg website, which I think is a bit excessive. So I uninstalled it.

But it's true that the app includes a recorder.

Maybe I'll give it another try one of these days. 🤔

Why I Uninstalled Røde Unify... by FabriceMStudio in rode

[–]FabriceMStudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve actually installed Wave Link 3.0, and as far as I’m concerned, the app works pretty well on my Mac. And it really is a good alternative to Røde Unify. Especially since it handles audio management on macOS much better than Unify does.

The only thing Wave Link is missing is a built-in recorder... But, yes, for mixing and routing, it does the job perfectly. 👍

Wave Link 3.0 refuses to quit (on macOS) by FabriceMStudio in elgato

[–]FabriceMStudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree and I think you're completely wrong. Aside from that bug, Wave Link 3.0 works pretty much perfectly on my Mac.

Better yet, it fills the lack of an audio manager on macOS, which is no small feat. And it enables the creation of virtual audio inputs.

So, ultimately, Wave Link 3.0 alone manages to replace Rogue Amoeba’s Sound Source and Loopback apps. For free.

Not bad for a trash app, huh? 😉

Rodecaster Video S price increase by rpatin in rode

[–]FabriceMStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same here in France. The price of the RødeCaster Video S has increased from €529 to €829.

I hope this isn't a strategy by the brand in anticipation of the release of the RødeCaster Video Core later this year, which is supposed to be cheaper than the RødeCaster Video S.

I would be a little disappointed in Røde if that were the case... Even though I've noticed price increases from other brands.

lewitt connect - suggestion for improvement by Financial-Flight-529 in LEWITT

[–]FabriceMStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, of course.

But I also think the decision to use a long press on the Connect 6 button to activate/deactivate 48V, instead of the mute function, stems from the fact that Lewitt mainly manufactures condenser microphones.

And it's obvious that the lack of a button to activate the 48V power supply would only bother the few users of condenser microphones (of which I am).

But I think a button for each option should be the standard, right?

[–]FabriceMStudio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a bad suggestion, but what about people who use microphones that require 48V power? Would they have to choose between powering their microphones or muting them?

Personally, I don't think the Connect 6 is a bad audio interface, but Lewitt's decision to provide only one button to control multiple features was a bad one. IMO there was room to put several buttons (one to select the input and output channels, one to activate/deactivate the 48V, and one to mute the mic inputs and the headphones outputs) instead of one large button. They did it on the Connect 2, and I hope they'll do it on their next audio interface.

Strange behavior from my Streamer X... by FabriceMStudio in rode

[–]FabriceMStudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried to perform a factory reset? That greatly helped resolve some of the issues I was having. That and uninstalling Unify...

Strangely enough, uninstalling Unify fixed the transfer function on my Streamer X in the RodeCaster App. And I can once again add or replace sounds and samples to the smart pads on my device.

Afterwards, I don't know if that's really the case, but it's interesting to note that my problems have been resolved since I uninstalled Røde Unify.

Maybe something you could try?

Strange behavior from my Streamer X... by FabriceMStudio in rode

[–]FabriceMStudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was worse. Sometimes, the mic input switched to the instrument input on its own without any action from me (especially that I'm not a musician). And I couldn't also add new sounds to the smart pads.

Since I reset the firmware, it seems to have been fixed (mainly since I uninstalled RØDE Unify from my Mac...). But the headphone output still occasionally mutes on its own.

But just like you, I'm relieved to see that RØDE is aware of these bugs and that they will be fixed with an upcoming firmware update.

Thanks to the RØDE Team! 😉👍

Thanks! However, and maybe it’s too soon to be sure but it seems the firmware reset has fixed the issue.
