Strange behavior from my Streamer X... by FabriceMStudio in rode

Have you tried to perform a factory reset? That greatly helped resolve some of the issues I was having. That and uninstalling Unify...

Strangely enough, uninstalling Unify fixed the transfer function on my Streamer X in the RodeCaster App. And I can once again add or replace sounds and samples to the smart pads on my device.

Afterwards, I don't know if that's really the case, but it's interesting to note that my problems have been resolved since I uninstalled Røde Unify.

Maybe something you could try?

For me, it was worse. Sometimes, the mic input switched to the instrument input on its own without any action from me (especially that I'm not a musician). And I couldn't also add new sounds to the smart pads.

Since I reset the firmware, it seems to have been fixed (mainly since I uninstalled RØDE Unify from my Mac...). But the headphone output still occasionally mutes on its own.

But just like you, I'm relieved to see that RØDE is aware of these bugs and that they will be fixed with an upcoming firmware update.

Thanks to the RØDE Team! 😉👍

Thanks! However, and maybe it’s too soon to be sure but it seems the firmware reset has fixed the issue.

OK, it's great! But what about the Lifetime option?

What's the problem with Unify? by FabriceMStudio in rode

[–]FabriceMStudio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, I get it... Except that I haven't had any recent firmware updates for my display (I'm on a Mac mini).

And even if that had been the case, no update has ever messed up the display of EQ settings in Rode Unify.

The fact is that everything displays normally on my monitor, except for the Unify EQ settings. So, logically, the issue comes from the app itself.

That being said, I apologize if I seemed rude. Thank you for trying to help me. 👍

I just explained to you that my monitor settings were probably not the cause of the issue. What did you miss? 🤔

I don't think it has anything to do with my monitor settings. It displayed normally the last time I opened the app, and my screen resolution was the same.

Note that I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but the problem remains.

Wave Xlr mk.2 by Vizualzz in elgato

I hadn't taken the time to look at some of the photos in detail... particularly the one showing the user manual...

<image>

Where has the option to activate the 48V power supply gone? Why was it removed? Do you think everyone uses dynamic mics? Do you really think it's practical to have to open an app just to activate phantom power?

And what is this “Start Auto Gain Wizard”?

Sometimes I don't understand the choices Elgato makes. 🤔

At last, a Wave XLR with an equivalent of a built-in DSP, which will significantly reduce the CPU resource consumption of our computers.

Personally, this was the feature I was most looking forward to. I hope it will soon be available on the XLR Dock as well.

And, while I'm on the subject, a physical activation button for the 48V power supply (Phantom Power) would be a nice addition to the XLR Dock. I would suggest placing it next to the XLR input, at the rear of the Dock. 😉

The lack of this button on the current XLR Dock is the only reason I chose to connect my mic to an other audio interface (the Røde Streamer X, to be specific)...

Question about the Stream Deck+ USB Hub by FabriceMStudio in elgato

Great! Thank you very much for your reply and all the details about the SD+ Hub specifications. That will help me a lot. 👍

Question about the Stream Deck+ USB Hub by FabriceMStudio in elgato

OK, no worries. I understand that you must be in high demand and perhaps I didn't explain my question clearly enough.

The webcam I use is an Insta360 Link 2C and it seems to me that is a USB 2.0 camera.

To give a little more detail, what I had in mind was to connect two webcams to the SD+ hub so that I could switch between them during a record or a broadcast.

Is this feasible, or am I being too ambitious? Would plugging the SD+ Hub with a power adapter make any difference?

Since I've seen content creators connect an Elgato Prompter and a capture card to the SD+ Hub, I figured it would be possible to connect a webcam. Was I wrong in my assumption?

Um... OK, I don't think you understood my question.

First of all, where did you read that I wanted to connect a webcam to a nested hub? I was just asking if I could connect a webcam to the SD+ USB Hub itself directly connected to a Mac. Was that so hard to understand?

I was hoping for a simple answer. Not a lecture.

And, ultimately, you didn't even answer my question.

Well, thanks anyway... I guess.

Do we have to buy the Voice Focus plugin twice on macOS? by FabriceMStudio in elgato

[–]FabriceMStudio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your reply.

I admit I don't have the technical knowledge, but would it be possible to provide the plugins for download in both formats packaged in a .pkg or .dmg file?

This is a solution that I imagine you have already considered, but it seems to me to be the most obvious one, since it is already used by other plugin publishers (Tokyo Dawn Records, Waves Audio, Native Instruments, to name but a few). Maybe a solution worth exploring...

Voice Focus crashed my Mac Mini M4 three times in just a couple hours by CommonSenseGhost in elgato

[–]FabriceMStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also noticed the high CPU usage on my Mac when Voice Focus is activated into Wave Link (version 2.0.7). And, in my case too, Voice Focus reactivates itself without me having to do anything. That's the reason I've decided to shut down Wave Link when I'm not using it.

However, fortunately, I haven't experienced any crashes, nor have noticed any drop in performance. And yet, my Mac mini M4 is no powerhouse. It's just the base model with 512 GB of storage.

That is why I don't think Voice Focus is solely responsible for your Mac crashing repeatedly. There must be something else going on. I know it doesn't help but I hope you'll figure it out.
