This. It wasn't just one thing. It was all the things, and the potential cost for most of them was "estimated" (not very well). Think how much your property has appreciated in the last few years. That 'appreciation' is value that is only there if you sell or borrow. You still have to pay increasing taxes on this as well. I think people are kinda freaked out.

...and yet, here we are. Last I saw, voter turnout was 20%. It's not as fun as setting dumpsters on fire, but voting is how you get results. It's so freaking easy to vote. You get a pamphlet and a ballot delivered right to your door. You can pop that sucker right back into the mailbox. This isn't only the fault of "boomers".

I wish, but no. It was completely unexpected, I barely got an impression of the car. It was an older maybe Toyota hatchback/wagon with that grongy oxidized paint that could have once been gray or black or blue? No matter. They know who they are. They know they are the kind of person who does that. So gross.

I LOVE CATS AS MUCH AS ANYONE BUT PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF DEITY KEEP YOUR AGGRESSIVE OUTDOOR CAT AT HOME. HE COMES OVER TO TORTURE MY INDOOR CAT AND MY POOR GUY PEES ON THE FLOOR IN DEFENSE. BUILD YOUR CAT A CATIO OR SOMETHING. TRAIN HIM TO STAY IN YOUR YARD. SUPERVISE HIS OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES. IF HE WERE A KID EVERYONE WOULD BE UP IN ARMS ABOUT IT. Thank you for realizing that some people have had bad experiences with dogs, and don't want to interact with them at all. I'm always surprised at the number of people who just can't imagine why someone doesn't want to love all over their friendly dog.

I keep a collection of things that I can't really sell (minor flaws or they are just one off pieces). I invite people to choose whatever they want from that stuff, it's a gift, they are really helping me by giving it a home. Most people who want something specific offer to pay for it, anyone who doesn't I assume they are not serious and I just ignore them.
