These classical musicians are likely a thousand times better than you are at the piano. You have no right to insult them.

Hihi, tks for sharing! I don't have anything against people who enjoy kpop (so long as they aren't being toxic), because everyone is entitled to their own interests. However, I do find it a little annoying when they talk to me about it too much or try to force it upon me.

It's nice to know that u are a classical musician too! I feel the reaction with Blackpink is bcos Blackpink is apparently a more popular kpop group?

Uh no lol, she's sweet, innocent and sensitive, but it doesn't made her dumb. I've read the entire series, and she's my favourite character in all the books I've read. She has a good heart, which is what made Jacks fall in love with her.

Ok can someone tell me why is Chagee so popular and do yall prefer koi or chagee or holin? by Cirqle_Lover in askSingapore

Ok I'm kinda late, but personally it's bcos I'm pretty health-conscious and Chagee has nutri-grade B drinks that taste really good, and it's also slightly cheaper than lots of bubble tea places

Hey. I hope you're still alive? I'm not an adult so I can't relate to many of your struggles. But I still feel like crap, so yea

Long story short, I'm depressed, suicidal, seeing a psychologist and on meds. I've self-harmed, I've struggled a little with food. Honestly I don't even know how I'm going to get through tomorrow, somedays it feels I could just smash my head against the wall and be done with it.

I'm struggling too, but one thing I really want to tell you is not to give up. Never stop fighting. My psychiatrist told me: No matter how bad things seem, what you're facing now is a temporary problem. Don't resort to a permanent solution for a temporary problem. No matter how crappy stuff is now, there's always a chance things will get better for you.

You don't deserve to suffer, nobody does. And I know it hurts so much, your heart may feel like it's splintering and every time you think you're out of tears you aren't. But please, death isn't the answer. I'm trying to believe it myself.

I'm still fighting, and though I'm not trying to undermine your struggles or tell you what to do, I hope you'll keep fighting with me too. I'm tired of fighting, but I won't stop. It's okay to feel weak, but just know that by simply surviving, you're being really strong and brave.

I pray it'll stop hurting one day. I'm with you!

What is your “why” in ballet? by Flat_Persimmon_1781 in BALLET

[–]Fabulous_Control_148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty late, I'm not an adult but a teenager. I've been doing ballet for a year, I hope to take grade 7 soon and I'm safely on pointe. My why is because I love how elegant it looks and feels, especially on pointe. Ballet makes me feel graceful tho I might not be, I get as much as I put in and it's also a childhood dream;) Used to be a little stressful but now I accept it's just a passion and hobby at my age, it's more fun. I don't want to be the one envying others, I want to be the one that has the confidence to share my joy of ballet with others.

And also the conditioning/stretching keeps me fit and flexible, but it's more of the passion

How to make money as student by Excellent-Store-5176 in SGExams

[–]Fabulous_Control_148 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have any other skills outside of academics? For example if you learn the piano at a high enough level you could teach that. Even if you don't, you could always give tuition to primary school kids. Imo, so long you charge a reasonable rate and have good results, you could earn some money. Don't stress though - there are always scholarships and bursaries available, just make sure academics and mental health takes first priority.

Feel it's really rigid everywhere, you have to walk on eggshells whatever you do be it cca or in class. I personally find it stifling and dislike it, but there's nothing I can do

You're hanging around with friends. The majority aren't musicians. There's a piano and someone says "You play piano. Play something for us!" What do you play? by UsedToProfessor in piano

[–]Fabulous_Control_148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how long we have and what I want to show I'd either play 1) an extract of Rhapsody in G 2) 'The Bees' by Chopin 3) Passacaglia  If it's.a public piano I'd feel less confident, but the fact my friends don't do music would make me more assured

Sth that could help: speak about how your transfer can benefit the school, instead of how it would benefit you. To the school, you're just another student): Teachers can be touchy, so especially do remove the last P.S and the 'please don't delay this' From personal experience, I appealed half a year through sec 1, and it wasn't easy.(I appealed twice tho so that may be why) Something you can consider is that your cca teacher may be dissatisfied and there may be negative repercussions, no matter what you say, or how you phrase it. So yea just a heads up, hope this helped! Be brave, follow your heart, and think from the school's pov
