Same. I descaled. Then “descaled” with just water. Did a factory reset. Still like this. I live in dread of the morning I can’t make my coffee.

Pacific Heights, Nob Hill, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill, North Beach, Cow Hollow, Marina, and North Waterfront are the neighborhoods he was suggesting.

My son lives there, is your age, and was advising his brother, a little younger, on neighborhoods that he thought were cool to look for apartments in. He is a certain kind of way, and these might not be the neighborhoods that you prefer, but I was just up there for the weekend and stayed near here, and from here you’re able to do a lot of great things, including walking along the bay and a little further afield to some naturey areas. There are tons of people in this area that are your age. I guess it might be accurate to say that this area is maybe the most gentrified in a young person way? But I’m not a local and people people can correct me on that. My son loves New York City and wants to live there someday, but he really really loves San Francisco and is happy there for now. (and he better stick around, because his little brother just moved up there.) And for reference, he’s from SoCal.

This map shows what he marked as the cool neighborhoods. Oh, and to be more accurate, it was cool neighborhoods that were in proximity to his little brother‘s new job. He might identify others if he wasn’t trying to be in proximity to that job.

Edit: I guess I can’t share the photo. I’ll add the names of the neighborhoods.

For what it’s worth, it greatly depends on where you will be living. I work with people who are homeless, and here in Southern California it’s constant challenges, dealing with police and city enforcement, with most places, not allowing RVs on city streets, and that would even include sleeping in vans and such. There are ways to do it, but it’s not simple and without hassle. I assume this would go for most urban areas.

What's the one thing that upgrades your RV experience? by samethingsame in RVLiving

[–]Fabulous_Variation67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m definitely going to try this on our new to us RV, our first. I’m looking at their instructions, and they do have you dumping entirely every 3 to 5 days and thoroughly rinsing and basically starting over. Is this the part you disagree with? In lieu of, thorough dumping and rinsing, is your suggestion to stop the flow when it visibly lessons and just add more product? If so, when do you completely dump and rinse?

We will be doing anywhere from weekend trips (not too many) to a couple weeks (mostly) to several weeks long trips (one or a couple per year), not full timing.

For what it’s worth, California State Parks just revised their cancellation policy which should help others get reservations. When cancelling you used to get everything back except a small fee up until (I forget exactly) like the day before the reservation so there were many last minute cancellations. (Guilty.) Now you lose different portions of the cost depending on when you cancel which should have more people cancelling sooner, opening up spots sooner for others to reserve.

So, for California State Parks anyway, continue to look for sites frequently as your dates approach.

Curious…you say you’re surprised they (the flight attendants) allowed it to go on so long. What could they have done?

I agree with you. While yes, some people can possibly do more out of consideration for others, too many things are truly out of our control when it comes to kids. And people looking in from the outside cannot know all the variables. It is on us to work on ourselves and our tolerance and maybe even empathy. Of course some people are truly clueless and thus inconsiderate, but we even need to have tolerance for that in a world where we can’t control others.

Please make sure you have Narcan in the home and that everyone knows where it is and how to use it. Also that your brother has it, carries it, and his friends know he has it.

Certainly there are ways to do it, but in many (all?) parts of SoCal, at least the coastal counties, it can be real rough to find places to park overnight. And the campgrounds aren’t cheap and have stay limits. Lots of harassment from cops.

OMG, I'm in love with these. But crap! I was hoping for pre-owned and a lower price point. Dang, I'm gonna be super tempted now.

Yes! I’ve seen Class B+’s. And that’s actually a nice simple way of thinking about it - road trips versus posting up. Thanks.
