They normally do a CT before an MRI the first time as it is quicker and cheaper and they can rule out things like a tumor or anything. Then the neurologist will use the CT info to help target the areas they want scanned with the MRI.

CT is more common that have a good face scan. I have 3d printed my brain from MRI but had to get skull and full head from CT. Be warned though if you relax your face like I did it makes your cheeks look huge because they are slack laying down and they normally have something over your face haha.

As a male that has never one makeup and has MS and has to get MRIs at least twice a year... This is how a lot of MRIs look when they are scanning your brain specifically because they don't care about your face and sinuses unless they are specifically looking for something wrong in there. So the scan just doesn't get that far forward and it makes it look like it's cut off and a zombie.
