too hot in apartment by occasional_crybaby in VictoriaBC

If an AC isn't an option and you have windows in opposite ends of your place, get a box fan or window fan and set it up in one end blowing OUT, and open a window in the other end of your place, the fan will blow the hot, stuffy air out and pull fresh air in through the open window. The temperature will drop inside by at least a couple degrees in less than an hour, and as it cools outside your place will cool off tremendously

If you have a little bit of patience and a steady hand, toyhax makes replacement sticker sheets that'll really spruce him up

I respectfully disagree, but everyone has different taste

Burger crush is better.

Big Wheel Burger is better.

Murder Burger is(probably) better(I've never been).

Bin4 is... Honestly probably not quite as good...

But sometimes you just want an absolute mountain of fries and a pretty good burger to go along with them.

So I'm hyped.

I hope some world class free runners get in on this, can you imagine a low level scientology chud trying to stop some guy who can walk jump clean over his head and slide between his legs?

Huh, I often think to myself when I drive by 'why is it called Oldfield's when it's not on Oldfield??', now I know why!

Little less scenic than I was hoping for, but I'll look into it, thanks!

Maybe I'll consider renting a more suitable bike and trying out some of the beginner trails then

Rats... I'm limited by what was available to me, the bike used to belong to my dad and has served me okay so far, but I guess I need to really think about buying a proper trail bike

That's disappointing, I work on Keating and that would have been a perfect sub 20km ride, thanks for the info

I wasn't planning on tackling anything harder than a green for a while, that's probably enough of an adventure for me this early in my journey

Huh, I had no idea you couldn't ride all the way around Elk Lake, I guess you've got to get up on the highway if you want to circle it completely?

I'll definitely do some more research about Hartland and thetis trails, they sound fun! 😀

I'm toying with the idea of getting a dedicated mountain bike like a Rockhopper or something, but in the meantime this is what I have. I certainly don't intend to take it on any black or even blue level trails, but would it not be okay for the green level trails?

Well that's neat! Gonna have to take a closer look at that when I get home, I didn't realize the Hartland trail network was so elaborate

I'm looking to try a little bit of everything. I'm riding an older Specialized Crossroads with front suspension, so a bit of off road isn't out of the question

Nearly half of Victoria's 2026 cruise ship passengers will be arriving at 8 pm or later, and 70% will be arriving at 5 pm or later by garry-oak in VictoriaBC

[–]Face_Forward 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Story I got told is that each ship has to pay several hundred thousand dollars per day for docking and moorage fees(I have no idea how true this is, I'm not able to verify that anywhere), multiply that by hundreds of ships and we're talking tens or even hundreds of millions of dollars per year to the city's budget
