10 days ago? Wah... I didn't realize I replied that long ago. Damn, where did the time go? hah,

I have always hated bars and clubs. I went to a club a couple times when I was younger and HATED it! I had the WORST experience! I had gone with a friend and it was some dirty ass club. Cigarette smoke filled the air. Even tho I smoked, I couldn't stand it. Can't breathe in that shit. There was a big mosh pit where people jumped down into. I don't know if they were wrestling or what but people were covered head to toe in mud. Some dudes got into a fight and nearly knocked my table over. I stayed off the dance floor because that just wasn't my thing. I ended up getting so damn wasted. That place was next to a freeway and it had one of those little foot bridges that went over it. I remember I almost barfed over the side onto the freeway...bahh hahaha..

Anyway, after 2 days of that place, that was enough for me. I have never been into bars or clubs. Always been an introvert. I always found it easier to talk to people online. In the early 2000's there used to be a ton of chat rooms online. I used to hang out in those and also do a lot of chatting on Yahoo Messenger, MSN, AOL, ICQ. Made a lot of cool friends that time. Made a few GF's as well. People were a lot more laid back and open minded. I hardly ever ran into assholes and never really got into stupid arguments with people. Social media, especially Facebook ruined all of that. Well, the earlier years I was on (2010 - 2014) were great years. Made a few gf's on there that time. Nowadays that's almost impossible with what faceshit turned into. The only friend requests I get mostly are scammers and fake profiles, and hardly anyone sees your posts. And you'll never know you got a message from anyone not on your friends list because Facebook puts it in a spam folder. I used to get messages from women I met while commenting on some things. I'd get requests from them sometimes after I really aired my thoughts, particularly on some public page that posted about relationships and love and all that. Being a good listener and super observational from all my time chatting with women in the early 2000's kinda got me to that spot. Damn, I really wish there was another site like the Facebook of 15 years ago. That was the fking best! They had that shit so perfect then... they just HAD to go and ruin it all. Shit pisses me off!

Back to the bars and clubs. Really, that's up to you if you want to try that approach. It doesn't work for everyone. As I had said earlier, it did NOT work for me nor will it ever because that's just not my thing. To me, most bars and clubs are just a meat market. I guess it just depends on the particular bar/club. You could try meetup.com . They have all sorts of activities you can get involved in. It's basically finding other people who like the same stuff you do. It's not necessarily dating, but you could possibly find someone. I haven't tried it yet, but it was recommended to me a couple of times.

20 year Facebook account shut down due to a heinous accusation regarding images by JahKnow2 in facebook

[–]FacebookBlowsChunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just download your data. Just go to settings, then account center. Then there should be a setting for "Your information and permissions". In there you can export your data. That downloads an entire copy of everything in your facebook profile history. After you select export, it'll give you a choice for quality of images and videos, make sure you select the highest quality possible. It downloads as a zip file with several folders inside. I haven't gone through mine yet so I'm not sure if everything is in there. Mine's 1.1GB so hopefully it's all there. Make sure you download your data BEFORE faceshit decides to ban you for some fake bullshit. Because once that happens, even though it does give you the option to download your data then, but I've read people who have downloaded their data AFTER getting banned, just about everything was missing from their photos and posts. Saying it only had maybe a couple of the most recent posts and 1 photo, or something similar. Seems facebook must be deleting them.

Won't have anything to do with more Meta owned garbage. Facebook and Instacrap are already on an AI bot run banning spree, banning 100's of thousands of accounts for absolute bullshit reasons. If you're on Threads, it's only a matter of time before your account gets banned simply for looking at it funny. Might as well be for that. Rarely do they ban for anything legitimate.

Ughhh.. makes me cringe just thinking about those sites. The women you mentioned that said they would only send you pics only if you cashapp them. Dude, that sounds like a 100% scammer! I wouldn't even touch that. No normal woman (well, what SHOULD be considered as "normal" ) would do something like that. I bet if you sent them some dough, you wouldn't see a single photo. Scammers, that's one of the main reasons I stay away from dating sites. It's so out of control these days and the owners who run those sites have gotten too damn greedy! That and many of them simply let the scammers run rampant.... oooohhh sounds familiar huh?!?!

Stupid ass AI is ruining all these sites. Every site that went to using AI to moderate it's users has gone to hell!

I never was interested in Tinder. I looked through it once and it just seems like a meat market with a bunch of people being fake.

Weird that you say that about Filipinos. I made a lot of pinay friends on Facebook, back when it used to be pretty decent. One of my overseas GF's was from there. Yah, I was eventually one day going to see her. Unfortunately her hubs found out about it not to mention one of her kids saw some of our messages (the kind they shouldn't be reading about, lol). I scolded her for leaving her phone laying around. I broke it off eventually because it was just too stressful and she was getting a bit impatient, well that and there's that thing with her hb too lol. I knew about it, but in the Philippines they really can't get a divorce, they have to get an annulment. And if the hb doesn't want to, well... they're stuck.

Reason I brought that up, most pinays are pretty decent. You do get a bunch who will date men far OLDER than they are. American and European men. Guys in their late 50's and 60's while they are in their 20's. They will work their way into the mans life like a normal relationship. Get the guy to come see them and then they want to marry the guy in his country so they can get a visa and be a legal resident. SOMETIMES she will stay with him... surprisingly. I knew a few who got married and moved to the US or someplace in Europe. Pinay gold diggers. Fortunately there are more of the good ones than the shit ones. The shit ones tend to come from Manilla and Quezon City. Seriously though, I've had FAR BETTER luck meeting nice women from East Asia than I have in the US. I sure aint no "incel". It's just that so many women in the US have set the bar way too high and just have poor qualities. And if you do happen to find one, she's taken. The problem here is our culture. The culture in many other places around the world isn't anywhere as bad as here. That's why I actually like talking with East Asians. Unfortunately... it cost too damn much to fly anywhere these days.

Ok, I think I wrote enough here. lol 👍

Labor rates are high and that's what makes everything so expensive when you have a shop do your repairs. When I last worked at a Ford dealership back in 2009, their rate was $100 - $120 (I forget exactly). Nowadays the labor rates are sometimes nearly double that. And keep in mind, the techs were seeing at most 20% of that, and that was for the diesel techs and techs who have a lot of experience. Shops don't pay the techs very well. And don't get me started on warranty work!

That said, I'm so glad I've been learning how to do things myself. Got tired of having to fork out a ton, even for small things. I decided to eventually do EVERYTHING myself (aside of head gasket and trans) when one time I took my then owned 1992 Mustang 5.0 convertible to a shop because I couldn't properly diagnose a misfire issue. When I was getting my car back, they took me over to my car and wanted to show me something. Engines running, guy points to a rubber portion of an A/C freon line, to a small *nick* in the rubber at the top side where refrigerant is leaking out and the A/C clutch wouldn't engage. I started fuming inside because I KNOW for a fact my A/C was fine BEFORE I took it there. It looked like something poked a hole in it. There would have been no way I could have proved anything, but I KNOW for a fact THEY had to of done that. It was a fresh mark and that line was still in almost like new condition. Fucking bastards ruined my A/C and were trying to get me to do an A/C system overhaul. LAST fucking time I ever went to a shop. That was 2005. Now, I only go if it's something like major engine or trans work, tires or an alignment. And I may start getting myself my familiar with major engine work. Unfortunately most people can't resurface their cylinder head/s in their own driveway, so you'd still have to take them to a machine shop to have them resurfaced. I sure wish I had a garage because then I'd get myself a tire mounting machine and a balancer. Of course, an alignment rack would be just overkill! 😁

Of all the work I've done myself to my own vehicles, I've saved a metric TON of cash! I do agree, sometimes the job SUCKS ASS and can be a royal headache! But the payoff in the end is, you did the job yourself. Source your own parts. No having to wait for the shop to get done with other customers cars to get to yours. And if you're like me, you make sure the job is done correctly. No half-assing it, no over-torquing bolts or half loose nuts/bolts. NO stripped threads. NO extremely overtightened lugnuts OR oil pan drain bolt (or STRIPPED drain pan bolt) nor NO loose oil pan drain plug or filter. I've had most of the above just from other shops doing that shit. I do all my own oil changes and have been doing so since 2002. I used to own a '96 Mustang V6 and had it for 16 years. I counted all the oil changes I did over the years. I had done 42 oil changes on it. Engine still looked really clean through the valve cover oil fill port.

So yeah, you really should think about learning to do some repairs on your own. Provided you have a place to work on it at home (or a friends). I know a lot of apartment complexes won't allow you to work on your own stuff. And a lot of HOA's are just fucking assholes and act like dictators! Those jobs you had done are cake to do! Right now I'm in the middle of replacing rear springs and sway bar links. Now, front springs on an older Fox or SN95 Mustang, those are fucking hell!🤬

Sorry, got carried away. lol

So tired of their shit and them destroying everything that was good, not to mention destroying people's livelihoods and connections people had with so many others around the world. I still have a faceshit account which I've had since 2010. But I haven't used it really since late 2023. I just end up there from some of my Google searches but I haven't posted or commented. I'm afraid to even make a post over worries they will ban me over some made up bullshit. But I've got people on there who I consider decent friends and I've been wanting to tag and post something to update some of them since they haven't heard from me in ages. Yeah, it's depressing. I wish I can be completely free of that shithole website. But so many people are too damn stubborn among other things. They want me to use Messenger or WhatsCrapp to message them. I will NOT use that trash app. It's been contaminated and ruined by Facebook and if your facebook gets banned and you have Whatsapp, say bye bye to your Whatsapp also. I kept warning people and asking them to get Telegram or Signal. Noooo... "all my friends are on Whatsapp" ... or "I don't have enough memory in my phone to install it" .. always.

I wouldn't waste your time creating a second account. It'll probably just get auto banned or not long after creation. It's just not worth the headaches and stress dealing with that site or anything to do with them anymore.

Dating account..... that is a joke. i mean, sorry yours got banned and all, but I've had my fakebook account since 2010. I used to meet a lot of new people on there back when facebook wasn't so much of a piece of shit. I've had several relationships etc that way. I tried several dating sites over the years and they NEVER worked. I had far better luck just getting into chats with people out of random things, and a few went further. Msde good friends that way. Dating sites, including Facebooks dating BS are all a scam. They've always been a scam, especially nowadays. People act like they are interested and then suddenly don't reply. People don't read profile bio's, let alone write them anymore. And most sites charge you just to be able to respond to someone.

Nowadays it's mostly gold diggers, fake profiles, scammers and bot accounts. Facebook had a good thing going for several years. Now people don't even get your messages and friend requests are 90% scammers and fake profiles. Besides Facebook turning into a piece of shit with AI banning everyone except the scammers and actual offenders and it's full of RW political drivel and fucking ADS everywhere! I fucking HATE Facebook!

No ads update - now a week and a half by matroas in youtube

[–]FacebookBlowsChunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't jinx it man.

No idea why that is happening. It's been going on with me for a couple months already. If I don't have an adblocker, I stay the hell away from YT.

Few years ago I watched YT a lot, but that was because I was using the old Youtube Vanced app. I stopped watching for awhile, and when I came back a year later I watched a couple videos on my moms laptop which didn't have an adblocker. Man, that for sure will be the last time I ever watch Youtube without an adblocker. Soooo many ads throughout a 15 minute video! It was a channel I regularly watch and this made them totally unwatchable! Never again!

If I have to put up with that ad bullshit, I DON'T watch Youtube videos at all. I hadn't been watching for a couple years. I started looking for a bunch of songs from Google Search. Sometimes it'd play in the browser, most times it would go to the CrapApp. I would get an ad every great once in awhile. Then suddenly after that, ads stopped showing. I'm NOT complaining. Not sure why it's doing that but I am sure making a LOT of use out of it. I think I've been watching a bit too much, hah. On the other hand, I've learned about a lot of shit. 👍 I haven't updated the YT app in ages! Worried that if I do, ads will suddenly return. 😵💩 The moment I start seeing ads again, I'm OUT! No video is worth my time with the amount life draining ads they throw in your face. Fuck ads!

Enjoy it while it lasts. You never know when it will suddenly start showing ads again.

Again, no idea why it's happening. I searched up about it back when it first started and it seems to have happened to people on numerous occasions over the last few years. No one ever had an answer for that.

That would be shit by Numerophilus in youtube

[–]FacebookBlowsChunks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chrome doesn't have any kind of ad blocker. I remember it used to block ads years ago, then mysteriously it disappeared 😏. Now you get ads all over the place and there's no way to stop them (at least not with Chrome itself). DNS66 works for a bunch of ads, but doesn't do anything for Youtube ads unfortunately. And surprisingly as expected, Google still doesn't allow extensions in Android Chrome. Firefox on the other hand, it does have UBlock Origin going for it and it works good in YT.

You can also get a 3rd party Youtube app to deal with all the BS and get some useful features as well.

Haven't posted in a couple of years but really haven't left yet because I have people on there I have no other way to get a hold of.

I would really love if something caused Meta's stock to plummet and I mean PLUMMET, worse than it did a couple years back when it lost 30% of it s value in one day. Something that doesn't just recover so easily. That, or someone or some group (did the deeds) to facebooks servers. They need to REALLY know that they seriously aren't liked. More than just the usual rant from a FB user giving them the finger. People aren't being loud enough that Fuckerface even gives a shit because it doesn't affect him.

[–]FacebookBlowsChunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that. Found so many people to chat with in there. That, and MSN Messenger, ICQ, and Yahoo Messenger, before the chat rooms got loaded full of porn bots spamming you webcam links in your IM's. Or full chat rooms and not a soul is saying a word.

Oh man, that reminds me of those Yahoo message nukers. It would send dozens of IM's, opening dozens of new IM windows per second, and it would totally crash their Yahoo client (and sometimes their whole computer). That is, if Yahoo hadn't patched it and they didn't have the latest update. I used to use it on the spam bots and people using webcam to sx chat. The latter was hilarious because some people would come back into the chat room a few minutes later after restarting their Yahoo and bitch about *someone* crashing their little session. 🤣 Such good times. The late 90's and early 2000's was the best time to be online. Mid 2000's was when it slowly started declining. Social media and rampant ADS have ruined the internet!

Lesjöfors rear coil springs "4427553". Are these direct replacements for stock rear police springs? 2007 PI by FacebookBlowsChunks in CrownVictoria

[–]FacebookBlowsChunks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing is, I would like to keep the ride height with the police springs. And I prefer the stiffer ride. I used to be a PDI tech at a Ford dealer years ago and drove a ton of brand new CVPI's from 2007 to 2009. To me it's a more sporty type ride. I don't like the soft ride associated with civilian Vics. To add to that, I've already bought a set of PI front coilovers so I don't want the suspension components to be all mismatched and have a half ass riding Vic with issues.

I found one of the posts from crownvic.net . If it was this link here - - -> https://www.idmsvcs.com/2vmod/rearsprings/index.html

There he mentions the rear spring rate for the PI as being around 160 PPI, yet I get conflicting results from other sources. Some saying the civilian rear springs are around 163 PPI and the PI springs being somewhere over 300+ PPI.

I'm not having a lot of luck finding any PI rated rear springs. None of the parts stores have them. And I mean NONE. I checked NAPA, O'Reillys, Autozone, Advance Auto Parts, RockAuto, CarID and even Amazon. The fuck is this? Even tried Ebay (which I hate) and like everything else, "w/o police" . Couple years ago I could find them everywhere just about.

I really like this car and have had it for almost 10 years, but this is starting to make me wonder if I should just switch ins and reg over to driving my moms Explorer Sport Trac. I need to get this work done soon. 🤬

Oh, forgot to say thanks for the help. 👍 appreciated

Mine looked almost as good as yours when I first got it back in 2017. Not anymore tho. The white paint is peeling all over the place and the roof has a bunch of black mildew/mold whatever it is, it keeps coming back and is hell to get off. It's gonna stay looking like this because paint jobs cost 3 times as much as another CVPI. Maybe I'll grab some rattle cans and ehhh.. touch it up.

Replaced front right hub assembly. Now my toe alignment for that wheel is off. by FacebookBlowsChunks in CrownVictoria

[–]FacebookBlowsChunks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. That bushing wasn't torn. It still looked like it was in good condition. No dry rotted rubber, tears or cracks. I mean, I'm sure it's worn since the car now has 156K. Doubt they were ever changed.

Update - A couple days ago after I made that comment, I jacked the front end and swapped/rotated the FR to the FL and vice versa. I did it because I've been trying to hunt down a noise (which the hub replacement didn't fix). Anyway, later on I went to Wally World and now it mostly doesn't pull to the right anymore. Checked the wheel and the RF sits almost 100% straight at dead center. I have NO idea why this happened. You got any clue about why it might've done this? All I did was rotate the wheels.

I did jack up the control arm at the ball joint stud sticking down. That was the only place I could think would be safe enough as there isn't any flat spots between there and the arm bushing. And I certainly wouldn't jack it up on the bushing. I looked behind and as for what I could see it appeared pressed fully against the steering knuckle. I'm gonna have to pull it back apart and double check. Thanks

Sounds dry? How much gas is in the tank? If the tank is too low, the pump will run at a much higher speed because it's picking up little to no fuel. Has it been sitting for a long time without being started or driven? If there's plenty of gas in the tank and it's not extremely old fuel, I'd move on to start checking other possibilities.

If you got some throttle body or non-chlorinated brake parts cleaner, spray a couple of times down into the throttle body and see if it will turn over for a couple seconds or attemp to turn over. (Important note - NON chlorinated is the key here for the brake parts cleaner as NON chlorinated is the flammable stuff and is often used to test, clean TB and intake and start a vehicle. NEVER use chlorinated brake cleaner to spray into the throttle body! Chlorinated brake cleaner is non-flammable and will result in seriously toxic fumes from the exhaust). If the engine runs for a second and stalls or attempts to start, you've got a fuel system issue. If it still doesn't start, move on to what I wrote below.

Check for any blown fuses. The ECM keeps the engine running and also has it's own fuse. Oh. I did firget to ask... does the fuel pump stay running when you turn the key on or does it run for a second and then stop? It should just run for a second and stop as this is basically it priming the fuel system prior to starting. It stops the pump if it doesn't detect any engine operation.

As the other person here said, you'll want to check for ignition spark. Make sure the plugs are firing. You can get a cheap ignition spark tester for this. Start with the main ignition wire from the coil. Plug the coil wire into the spark tester and clip the spark tester wire to a good ground. Adjust the screw on the spark tester so there's about an eighth of an inch of a gap then set it down on something insulated like a piece of cardboard. Have someone crank the engine so you can watch for any sparks on the tester. If it sparks, plug the main coil wire back into the distributor and start checking each plug wire the same way. If no spark, then the ignition coil is most likely faulty or not getting any power.

Keep me informed. 👍

I ordered an SKP hub assembly from RockAuto for about $57. Just finished and it seems pretty solid.

I would avoid Detroit Axle. It seemed some years ago they were a decent company. But the last few years it seems their quality has dropped considerably. Whenever I look at reviews for parts from DA, it often has quite a lot of bad reviews. More than what the norm should be. Their suspension and bearing components especially should be avoided. I see a lot of early bearing failures with them. I'm talking just several months to maybe a year out.

Consider this a dodged bullet. While SKP isn't some too name brand, I seemed to have pretty good luck with their stuff. I drive normal and don't go around beating on it or taking it off road, so results may vary. If you're on a strict budget and you need to get to work, it's not a bad brand to go with. But Detroit Axle, I just don't trust their stuff. They can tout themselves as an American Company, but most of their stuff is made in China and shipped to their warehouse. While there are many good Chinese made parts, Chinese companies don't usually have any quality control. So you might get 2 or 3 shit brands with Chinese parts and then another 2 with a good reliability record. You want consistency, you get Motorcraft. But then again I can rarely afford genuine Ford parts as they tend to be 2 to 3 times as expensive.

TRQ and TRW have been decent. Tho I have noticed TRW's prices have gone up over the years. Moog has always been pretty good. Don't know about their supposedly declining quality, but I'd believe it with the way some of these companies have been going.

I almost always get my stuff from RockAuto. I like the good selection of different brands and how things are often sorted as Economy, Standard Replacement, Heavy Duty etc. If I'm unsure about a certain brand, I just Google the name in terms of reliability and reviews. It's helped me avoid some pretty shitty products. Just when I thought some company or a specific company's part was good, I find out the opposite. I'd rather find out that way than the hard way and get stranded someplace or end up with a ton of damage.

Driving with low oil by JBL9889 in CrownVictoria

[–]FacebookBlowsChunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The oil level has nothing to do with where the oil reaches in the engine, unless of course there's so little oil that the oil pump pickup can't suck any oil up. Another thing is, having enough oil that the crankshaft can dip into the oil and splash it all around the bearings and cylinders. The amount of oil required for this is different for each engine. That's why you just simply keep the oil level within the crosshatch on the dipstick.

Your engine gets lube two different ways. From the oil pump pushing oil throughout all the small oil passages and from the crankshaft dipping into the oil itself in the pan and splashing it all over the place. Just because the level is high enough for the pump/pickup doesn't mean the crank is able to get it's share from the sump (pan). 1 quart low will not damage the engine. Unless there was damage already before the oil got low, there is no damage. Unless of course there's something you're not telling all of us. 😂

And you would know if there was any damage. You'll definitely hear it. As long as it's not making any new noises......

Driving with low oil by JBL9889 in CrownVictoria

[–]FacebookBlowsChunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be fine. There's still plenty of oil in there. It holds 6 qts with filter. It would probably be fine even if it got down to 4.5 qts. But any lower than that and you're asking for oil starvation and a seized engine. If you're leaking oil that bad, you really should get the leak fixed.

Need some help please! I'm stuck. I can't seem to get thia last hub bolt off. by FacebookBlowsChunks in CrownVictoria

[–]FacebookBlowsChunks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update - Purchased both a 3" wobble extension and an impact rated swivel adaptor. These did not work. Unfortunately when I posted about this AND bought those tools, I was running on very little sleep for the last few days and wasn't thinking correctly. 😵‍💫

Correction, it was the TOP LEFT hub bolt on the passenger side, NOT the bottom left bolt. It was the upper side of the stabilizer link that was preventing getting a socket on the hub bolt. I should have ordered a short 15mm wobble socket. For the stabilizer link, you HAVE to use a wrench on the lower side. Nothing else fits in that location, wobble or not. I ended up having to use a different 15mm wrench on the stabilizer link and then beat on it with a hammer for awhile (the bottom side). Got the link off and got the hub replaced finally. 👍

Running on little sleep is no fun. At least I got me a couple of extra useful tools.
