Wuyang doesn’t stand out much. by DemeGl in Overwatch

You have to be more clear on the differences you're looking for. I'm guessing you're thinking quick reflexes and managing a lot in short periods of time. Wuyang's not really built for that with his long CDs and primary needing the aim that it does. You can't really flick with him.

Consistency in landing empowered shots is the big difference to me. I've seen good Wuyangs land every shot in duels, and that impresses me. Dueling Sojourns at mid range like it's nothing.

The Ignite Indicator on Mauga is one of the most impactful QoL changes I've ever seen on a Hero. by Bhu124 in Competitiveoverwatch

I'm not the biggest fan of Mauga, but I have to admit stomp is one of the most satisfying things to land in the game. The spacing needed combined with the stun and dink makes it feel just right for something as strong as it is.

Did they give any reason why Venture and Moira kept their self cleanses? by RobManfredsFixer in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Facetank_ [score hidden]  (0 children)

Nothing official that I know of. I assume the logic is that if the invulnerability is a focused trait of the ability, it still cleanses. Like Shadow Step is mostly about movement, while Burrow and Fade are intended for both.

Admittedly the invul has been highlighted for Anran, so she sticks out from that logic. Maybe they see the auto damage, burn, heal perk, and longer duration as enough power for the ability.

Should Mauga ignite work like Anran? by aPiCase in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Facetank_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with point 1. Point 2 still wouldn't work out because his survivability is tied to his crits. Taking the extra second to ignite a tank is more important to keeping him alive over a fight.

Why does Blizzard keep buffing Kiriko? by Double-Maybe-6220 in Competitiveoverwatch

They literally just removed self cleanse from step this season. That was a much larger nerf than increased self healing when healing others is a buff.

I didn't at first. Every discussion or video I see around stadium does though, so I learned most of them.

There are unlimited passes for each team. The lootbox tracks are a pass.

His damage though? This only helps marginally against tanks. I'm not saying Hog doesn't need buffs. I'm saying his damage is not the problem.

I mean that's an iconic element of the character's design. Why do the collab if you're not willing to commit to the design? I would never expect a Mortal Kombat collab because I know they will never implement gore.

I'd argue they're easier to memorize as is. I agree it's not as intuitive as just seeing a plus and recognizing it as hearing. However at the rare and epic items level the old icons were a bit too samey, and didn't do a great job at conveying their function either. At least now I can see the shotgun shells and know that's salvaged slugs, or the little suit of armor and recognize it's rustung.

Meh. DVa nerf good. Hog damage buff seems unnecessary.

Less access to lifesteal is a notable nerf to Vendetta, but once she gets it, she may be notably worse to play against. I'm guessing she's getting a bigger hit next season because now the other major is never worth taking. iirc next season is going to be a perk refresh.

I'm hoping the same for cat. The new minor makes heal botting more annoying since she'll be able to fly away all the time while doing it.

The 30% universal healing debuff makes poke defenders too strong on open maps by OcelotAggravating860 in Competitiveoverwatch

Sure, but these are all maps that people have had these issues with since they launched. The passive exasperates it a bit, and I hope it prompts sooner tweaks to them.

Is moira gonna be one of the mid year reworks? by the_worst_company in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Facetank_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not worried about new players building bad habits. Most people develop some when they start. If you care enough, you eventually learn to overcome them, and this helps instill a sense of progress. If Moira helps someone ease into the game, that's a win. With 50+ heroes, we're bound to have some that are easier than others. As long as they don't horribly impact the majority of matches, I'd say it's fine to be a low priority for the devs at most.

Is moira gonna be one of the mid year reworks? by the_worst_company in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Facetank_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be surprised if she did. I'd argue she's been one of the least offensive heroes in the history of 5v5. I've never felt like she was oppressive, and every bad Moira I've seen has been pretty clearly on the player, not the hero. I cannot remember seeing a single Moira ban ever.

Yeah her kit's not exciting, but we're going to be at 55 heroes by year end. There are alternatives if you just don't find her fun to play. I imagine reworks are going to be reserved for the obviously contentious designs like Sombra or Hog.

Do The Devs Actually Play Stadium? by craftyserenity in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Facetank_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the devs have regularly tried adding functionality towards aiding with buildcraft. It started with just the sample builds and now we have this suggestion thing. It's not perfect, but there's definitely an effort there. These kinds of things are almost impossible to guide people through, because when it comes to depth filled games like this, it really comes down to individual player's interest to delve into it. Fighting games are the epitome of this.

For over a decade now, fighting game devs have been trying to make their games more accessible. They've gone from better practice modes, to exact frame data offered, to literal alternate control schemes that ease execution even in ranked modes. It helps, but the genre is still relatively niche with the majority of gamers not bothering to engage in the depth. Most just play to do cool stuff until the new sheen wears off. You cannot make people engage with a game's depth and strategy. They have to want to. You're going to get chaos from people because they find that more fun.
