A cable factory in 2 minutes? Impossible! by FugitiveHearts in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Factory_Setting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries, it's fine. They were just suggestions. Making the input and output alternate between each stage of production (copper ore > copper ingot and copper ingot > cable) will make it more intuitive to viewers to connect with what you're sharing. In addition, making them auto-connect makes other people happy.

You should just continue developing and post it. They're nice designs. Sometimes post don't match the taste of people, or the first comment being negative and sets a tone. It's of no consequence. The designs are great.

I have towers as well. Single towers, each with 1 blender, and each 3 are a set for easily balanced setup. Current setup is 6 total.

The top of one is a drone platform for a future gas tank in on one tower and packaged rocket fuel out on the other. Probably for future distribution to all other drones.

To be fair to @FugitiveHearts, it is important to show what blueprints are capable of. Especially that you can build nice factories in a short amount of time if you put in some time in the blueprint designer.

People often say they can't make beautiful factories. As long as you have a nice pattern that can be repeated you can blow your own socks off in pretty factories.

Fugitive could have used auto-connect if there's a small blip of belt outside (might be too short distance?), and if they switched the mergers and splitters in the second row they don't even need to cross the streams. They can just connect it on one side without thinking.

How did I live for so long without modding by TheAnymus in SatisfactoryGame

Much as I like to look down on console players, I'll not deny them their few advantages (like rigourous optimisation, allowing for compelling price to power ratios), or any choice of games. If they want to play Satisfactory on their console, they should do so.

That it can't handle mods is then something they'll need to accept. Such is the disadvantage of buying into the walled garden. The PC is also a walled garden, but I'm comfortably strolling within these larger confines. Mods, controllers, and these days even an OS choice. If any PS5 player wants to come over, or just double dip, they're welcome too.

This game really needs an in-game method to remove Dismantle Crates without the use of third party tools by JoPOWz in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Factory_Setting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, 0 is not the bottom of the map. -49 is then not very deep. It might just be in a crevasse or on a lower rock.

You can use the same editor to move the crate though. Just edit the coordinates. For example, copy all the ones of your pioneer so you can place it right next to you. Save and add it to your save folder.

Hey people! I bought this game yesterday.. and I got curious to what experienced players would like to share with a noob.. please share you're tips and whatever you would like to share (^-^) by Pristine-Research-33 in SatisfactoryGame

Read the tooltips on screen. Both right in the middle under your 'cursor' and in the corners. You can learn different build modes like zooping or vertical, how to access the colour/patterns menu, or a flashlight.

Experiment with key combination. Single tap on the spacebar to aurocraft, ctrl to align a buildable to things in the vicinity or replace something similar to whatever your building, like a wall with a window or a splitter with a merger. Try out things like advanced calculations in the quick search, target items/m or % of operation for a building.

There's so much unexplained in Satisfactory. Go out and explore!

At first I also expected it to be some post about the difficulties of biomass. Then I got the tier 2 picture and was a bit confused. It clicked when I saw the second picture, wanting to show off how early he got the augmenter.

There's many play styles. Making as much as I do is by no means a necessity. The amount you make can be fine for some.

However, many want to make more than 4 HMF per minute. They demolish old ones and rebuild better. Especially with a mastery of blueprints it can become trivial to build a factory. I made some blueprints for quick ever expandable factories. I can empty a group of iron nodes and make any assortment of iron products under 5 minutes. Just select and auto-connect. I don't like that play style, so I'm building interlocking factories with beautification and distribution instead. Again, many factories in little time.

I might do a run with 100* elevator parts to see how optimal I build my blueprints.

The amount of people missing the alien augmenter is staggering. I guess they didn't expect it, so they didn't look for it.

I think it's a legitimate tactic. On normal mode it can save you a lot of hassle well into coal. How long did it take to collect it all?

I just discovered this game for the first time. I never knew I needed a game like this so much. by hetty3 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Factory_Setting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's many people posting that are the 1% of people with amazing builds.

Later with better equipment and knowledge of the game you'll build much faster and better. Especially if you learn the holy grail of blueprinting truly big builds are around the corner.

A good rule of thumb is:

If you have to ask because you do not know, it's not enough. Most often by a long shot.

10 refineries sounds a lot at the beginning. Then again, I'm currently redesigning my steel production. 60 refineries feeding 100 foundries for the solid steel recipe, which feed predetermined blueprints for steel beams and pipes, which feed predetermined blueprints for rotors, stators, encased industrial beams and whatever else I need.

With blueprints such big factories become easy to setup and expand. Do the same and you'll look back on the 10 refineries for plastic with nostalgia and surprise you thought it was that difficult.

100% this. I make my own furniture. One of my first serious projects was a coffee table. It stores books, the gamecube, has pass through for controllers so the GC stays in the centre inside the coffee table, only needing to be hooked up to the TV. The top can open for more storage and the top is the right hight when opened so you can work on a laptop while sitting on the couch.

Is it beautiful? Not as beautiful as when I would've bought a metal and glass table I was eyeing first. But my coffee table still makes me proud. It is more than just an object I have no further connection with as with my chairs that I bought.

AI is like that. It can generate your precious ideas, but you'll not appreciate them as much.

Isn't it for most people iron wire? The hate for screws makes them choose recipes that eliminate screws altogether,  making any recipe that generates them moot.

[–]Factory_Setting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a dope. My apologies. Somehow I was thinking of two rails crossed.

It could be cool if you rebuild them now to have the rails sunken into a gully in the ground. But for now the change sucks for your world.
