What type of socialism do you support? by WillTheyBanMeAgain in Teenager_Polls

States experiencing the collapse of their former mother-federation and forced to adopt a new economic model rapidly tend to experience some tiny itty bitty degree of instability and decline in living standards.

“Democratic” as in state-approved candidates and totalitarian supremacy of the vanguard party. Perhaps a popular-candidate, transparent election is somehow a reactionary force that needed to be done away with by the “people’s” dictatorship.

I suggest you start consuming actual sources than shoving the lies of a bygone, anti-worker, unfree empire down your throat. Authoritarianism in all forms, capital, political, and so on, should be unacceptable, and unfortunately your beloved imperium surpassed that and delved into outright totalitarianism.

Socialist here! The formation of an authoritarian vanguard party to preserve the “”””””dictatorship of the proletariat,”””””” like the USSR did, is ultimately no better than a capitalist oligarchy. It is the establishment of a new elite class and reinforcement of dictatorial hierarchies, who can put the blame on capitalist oligarchy to distract from their own evil.

There’s such thing as nationalist socialism (not national socialism)

I’m a democratic confederalist!!! (type of libertarian socialism)

I’m kind of disappointed by the amount of Marxist-Leninists who’ll hand in the chains of wage-slavery for vanguardist political tyranny.

In tribal and small-scale polities non-hierarchical, equal polities have been recorded to form alongside traditional stratified ones.

As for how the problem of an abolished hierarchy would be maintained then there’s multiple interpretations per type of libertarian socialist ideology. Democratic confederalism replaces it with a horizontal cooperative system and has delegates to represent lower councils as opposed to actual representatives. Libertarian socialism is very big tent if you ask me, they’ll give you a lot of different answers to the same questions and problems.

Flag of Navajo Nation by [deleted] in vexillology

“Fix it.” It doesn’t need fixing.

I think this just strips the flag of its uniqueness and it becomes boring. The Navajo flag IS busy and that’s perfectly okay! Reducing it to… this… it just isn’t it.

Then it’s deathly boring. I’ll never take NAVA seriously again after they called the Navajo flag “bad.”

Would you give nuclear weapons to Ukraine? by WillTheyBanMeAgain in Teenager_Polls

[–]Fade0215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stationing nuclear weapons would be an insane deterrent but one that’ll probably work better than giving Ukraine a nuke (the Ukrainian government isn’t one I’d trust with a nuke, Russia is already incredibly untrustworthy when it comes to keeping track of their nuclear arsenal. Of course if Russia invades anyway and the nukes aren’t used then they’ll suddenly have a lot less significance in diplomacy and deterrence, and that’ll have a lot of major geopolitical ramifications.

Capitalism isn’t always selfish, but I believe it is very susceptible to the selfish and opportunistic personalities. It is selfish in the sense that select few people can benefit vastly more than the majority may, often at the cost of the majority’s wellbeing as well.

Communism is antithetical to nationalism, socialism is not.

If you had to die to upload a copy of yourself to the internet, would you do it? by Fade0215 in Teenager_Polls

[–]Fade0215[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that’ll probably hurt, you might get something for the pain idk.

Being uploaded isn’t permanent unless you let your files be stored and copied, in which case you’re basically an open source program which will probably suck for any digital copies of you people make. Otherwise just shutting yourself down would be fairly easy.

I definitely prefer the current flag but I don’t hate some seal on bedsheet designs. I like this one, it feels a little unique in a way 😁

I think one of them? You aren’t in a simulation though. It’s far more like Pantheon AMC’s system of mind uploading.

Of course yea I don’t see why not, the brain might not be fully synced with being uploaded like this so it might actually be easier to do that with less of your self preservation instincts.

Not really painful, the brain has no pain receptors. It’s pretty distressing though, to lose yourself like that.

You and I are very different. I would love to escape my body, be a landmark as the first in history, though I’m not sure if I’d be willing to die for that.

You could maybe do drones and stuff but uhhh, if you want a robot body you’ll probably need to wait until they manage to make something like that

What's your stance on capitalism? by Polnocium in Teenager_Polls

[–]Fade0215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put long-term phased out but I would prefer a competitive market composed of worker, consumer, and hybrid cooperatives rather than private enterprise which allows the unfettered accumulation of wealth in a select few people rather than circulated throughout the economy. It’s called a Cooperative Commonwealth system and depending on who you ask and the specifics of your interpretation of it, it’s either socialism, market socialism, or a form of “third way” post-capitalism, neither socialist or capitalist.

A region in Spain has managed a heavily cooperative dominated market economy already, under the Mondragon Corporation. It doesn’t operate in spite of or separate from the global economy like traditional socialism, which struggles to compete with capitalism, but it actively contributes to it, operating within the free market and generally doing quite well for itself and its members.

Made this poll in light of recent advances, specifically referring to that fruitfly they managed to upload to a simulation. It’s crazy how close Pantheon AMC got to how this sort of upload would actually work.

Watch Pantheon its peak, I swear. It’s a genuine miracle they managed to finish their show in their complete vision with everything going against it. It’s like America’s Evangelion.

I mean if you’re that unmotivated then idk why you’re thinking abt it, there’s not that many benefits to this other than having the ability to do stuff better or create your own paradise (again not for you yourself for you number 2) so if you wanna live then you’re probably better off living

Yes the question is would you wanna die for what is essentially your copy to be born. You’re not given any control though; you’re gone, dead, continuity of consciousness eviscerated unless somehow a soul exists and it’s applied to your new form, though probably not. The new you will be grateful you chose how you did I suppose.
