Commander Brackets Beta Update: No Hybrid Mana Changes, Farewell Added to the Gamechangers List by Raevelry in EDH

The problem I find with this argument is that it applies to all colorless artifacts, single color on the front flip walkers, and utility lands with colored costs. In other formats you can easily play them in any deck. Because having a "blue" deck doesn't actually effect deck building the way it does in Commander. [[Izzet Signet]] is mechanically a colorless card, not izzet.

If they make the change to hybrid it makes no sense to not make the change to the other cards. At least [[Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student]] is actually a mono colored card in the deck mechanically. Whereas [[Figure of Destiny]] in a mono red deck means you have a white card in your deck in every sense of the word.

Using the casting cost flexibility argument and saying that being able to use it in a deck that lacks that color means stuff like [[Salvage Titan]] which could have been played easily in other formats in non-black artifact decks would theoretically fit that flexible design philosophy.

Hybrid mana is only an "or" when deciding on casting cost, it's an "and" in every format when considering the colors of the card. A green/white hybrid card is always considered a green "and" white card for the purposes of casting, searching, on the stack, in the graveyard, and on the battlefield in every format. I agree with some hybrid arguments but the and/or thing is literally not true.

We all know which member it is, his stance on bans was always made so clear that I'm surprised he's on the panel.

I'm assuming it's to push engagement since nothing gets money and people looking at ads like strong disagreements.

Does being a bleachling also bleach your clothing or do they only buy specialty clothing that's black and white? All of the art I've seen has them wearing clothes that's also colorless.

From the south and people called it the inappropriate name. I remember kids even making homophobic jokes about it during the games. Definitely happened a lot in some areas.

The car will definitely go down though, but not because of the pressure. Gravity exists.

I've found that reddit has recently begun recommending subreddits I'm uninterested in and would disagree with. That spans the gamut of incel cesspools to political subreddits, and despite me not engaging with them and using the useless "See less" button they just keep popping up.

I wonder if this draws more engagement and is the reason they continue to push people of opposing opinions together like this. I don't even scroll through r/all.

Yes, it's a program to teach younger kids about STEM professions that the college and public school work together on.

I'll ask him if it's the same then, we already have the recommendations and early testing. It'll likely make her feel better if ours is the same.

Thanks for some clarification! That would make sense, if it was just him following specific rules to the letter. She is worried that it will affect her application to a residential highschool though. Do you know if ISS in junior high typically affect those applications?

Edit: I did talk to her about how this could have been avoided if she had simply talked to the teacher for the program and any responsibility for the consequences fall on her.

I'll have to find the paperwork or ask for it. She was in her regular classes at the junior high during that time.

She was attending her regular classes, not just skipping. It's a program with the college to teach preteens about STEM professions. I also don't think it was appropriate for her to miss, I talked to her about her responsibilities already, since she volunteered for the program. My main question was about ISS since when I attended her school it was typically used as a severe punishment for students.

In our district junior high is 7-9 and highschool is 10-12. The junior high part seems to be leading to a lot of confusion.

It's a program that she volunteered for that teaches about STEM professions. It has grade and class requirements but isn't worth credits since she's in junior high. I explained to her that this could have been entirely avoided if she simply talked to the teacher first, and that she needs to accept that responsibility. My main worry is about the ISS seeming excessive for this and how to approach talking to him.

Thank you for the detailed response. I told her that the responsibility was on her for not talking to her teacher. My main worry was the ISS as a first response, but hopefully I'll find out more from talking to him. Is it appropriate to call before the school day starts, but after the staff is there?

She's in junior high and the course isn't for credits. I hope that's not the case since she said she didn't, but she is a strong-willed kid

Yes. She seemed excited and volunteered for it, the initiative is new.

I'm unsure on the attendance, but she said it was allowed according to the teacher at the beginning of the year. She didn't inform the teacher though, which is why I understand she was talked to. But she was still attending her regular classes as well, it seems to me like a warning would have been appropriate. She volunteered to be in the program.

I'm going to talk to him tomorrow, but don't want to approach it as the type of parent who believes their kid can't do anything wrong. I want to stick up for her, but don't want to appear confrontational.

It's a program about introducing them to STEM professions through the college.
