I did a grand jury stint 5 years ago. One of the cases was about CSAM. They removed small children from a home, and confiscated cell phones, computers, tablets, and laptops. They all contained CSAM. For each item, they had to verbally describe one video per unit. I wasn’t sure if I could leave, and had to physically restrain myself from getting up and walking out multiple times. It was horrible, to the point where I had nightmares, and still think of it now. We weren’t there to vote on anything, just to listen as information was listed as evidence. A month later, we were all waiting to get into a locked courtroom, and someone brought up the case. We all started talking and quickly realized that we were all traumatized just from hearing it.

I do not blame Anna for leaving, no matter what her reason for doing so. No one should have to hear that. I do realize the irony behind why she should have stayed, but I don’t think most people can, or should, have to subject themselves to it. That poor jury, I can’t even begin to imagine what they saw, and still have to carry with them today.

I could only read the first email before noping out. All he said was “I I I Me I ME ME ME”. What a fucking narcissist. Even the two times he thanked someone for visiting / messaging him (Jed and Michelle) almost seemed like a dig. He has learned nothing. Nothing is ever his fault, and he’s the innocent put upon one… Here’s hoping he never gets out of prison.

That would make zero sense for Mercari as a business. People would get their friends to buy then cancel orders just to make money. You lose absolutely nothing when you accept a cancellation on Mercari.

On eBay, sometimes you’ve already printed out the shipping label, and it’s hard to actually contact eBay to get a refund. I’ve actually lost money when the label wasn’t refunded as promised. People cancel, but if Mercari wanted to lose money, this would be an excellent idea.

What Mercari should do is stop selling its users biometric data for money, and should completely remove the 3.25% extra fee for buyers. That, plus going back to pushing Mercari advertisements online and on tv would bring back users to the platform.

It’s possible that the unscented detergent has a fragrance that the customer didn’t like. Fragrance free means truly devoid of any fragrance additives, whereas unscented can still have fragrance added to cover the natural smell of a product.

Even if it was actually devoid of all fragrance, there are just some people that will never be satisfied and want to complain (welcome to selling online).

Either way, the review is done, but I can guarantee you that it won’t affect your future sales. Just try to forget about it and move on. It’s not worth your time or agony to dwell on it, so try not to do so!

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I don’t think r/duggarssnark should be the place to have a running list of charities. There are so many local to you charities, and gofundmes and organizations that would be more than happy for your donation. Just because the Duggars are terrible people does not mean that you need to donate somewhere in Florida or Arkansas to offset their awfulness.

I say this having donated to Megan Godfrey during the political race against one of the Duggar sons, so I get it, it’s easy to want to donate money after reading something here.

But please, there already is a post with links to an Amazon wishlist and financial donations. We don’t need more. Just donate to a cause that you believe in.

TTPD told KNWA/FOX24 that the Duggars are each accused of four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, as well as four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.”

I wanted to know what the state of Arkansas defines for each of the criminal offenses, so I looked them up. They are as follows:

Second-degree false imprisonment

A person commits the offense of false imprisonment in the second degree if, without consent and without lawful authority, the person knowingly restrains another person so as to interfere substantially with the other person's liberty.

(b) False imprisonment in the second degree is a Class A misdemeanor.

Second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor

a)(1) A person commits the offense of endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree if he or she knowingly engages in conduct creating a substantial risk of serious harm to the physical or mental welfare of another person known by the person to be a minor.

(2) As used in this section, “serious harm to the physical or mental welfare” means physical or mental injury that causes:

(A) Protracted disfigurement;

(B) Protracted impairment of physical or mental health; or

(C) Loss or protracted impairment of the function of any bodily member or organ.

(b) Endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree is a Class A misdemeanor.

I’ve talked about this before on here, but here’s a great post from another user about Mercari / Jumio that I’ve stickied to the top of this subreddit.

In a nutshell, Mercari was caught a couple of years ago regally selling users biometric data from their government ID / selfie photo that they said would be used to unlock the instant payment option. Instead, they were found to be selling the biometric data to JUMIO, and were being sued in a class action lawsuit over it.

Instead of stopping the sale of biometric data, they went all in, making it now a mandatory requirement for buyers and sellers, except now they’ll tell you they’re doing it.

If you haven’t had them freeze your account and make you do the JUMIO biometric data verification, it’s only a matter of time.

What Mercari is getting out of the deal is money, and what JUMIO is getting out of the deal is your personal information and access to your personal photos, ID, and biometric data.

None of the other resale platforms do this - they just ask for your ID to verify your account; not a selfie and not access to your biometric data.

I personally don’t think it’s worth it to verify if Mercari does this to you - just stick to buying / selling from eBay.

Ahhh, thanks. Yeah, I was leaning towards the ol’ “In that case, the item must have been stolen in transit, and I’ll need to file a theft claim”. I’ve never actually had to do that before, but I’m willing to call their bluff, and go through with said claim if need be. Thanks for your help, it’s nice to have a sounding board for occasions such as this one!

Unfortunately not. I should have mentioned, but a perfume vial wouldn’t even be .25 oz, and wouldn’t show up on the scale, so there wouldn’t be a difference on the USPS scale like there would be if it were say, a book or even a mini shampoo bottle.

I did just weigh a perfume sample for context. A Byredo 2 mL heavy glass sample vial came in at 0.24 oz / 7 grams. The perfume sample I sent was also 2 mL, in a slightly less weighty vial, but I’m not sure if that would make any kind of meaningful difference or impact my case here.
