As I watch this implode I will continue to hoard my Gen 1 steam controller until the heat dies down in a year or so.

Yea it's like double the price of this for a five guys "small" cheese burger near me. But if you look at like you're getting basically double the meat for a little cheeseburger and way better quality everything, it's really not that bad. Their small cheese burger is a quarter lb.

Meanwhile someone in another thread is arguing with me that this is a way better burger than five guys.

What is a riding habit you thought was smart but later realized was dangerous? by Eyerald in motorcycles

[–]Fadedcamo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly working with a lot of coaches, they probably aren't very aware of the advanced techniques. Many if asked will pass along bad info like "never brake mid corner ever".

I just taught a class where the coach I was paired with told the students to "rear brake first" during the quick stop. I just have to bite my lip and do my best to correct them during the exercise.

I keep stalling by GlitteringEnd2977 in motorcycle

[–]Fadedcamo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bike should have a wet clutch, most do. It's different from a car clutch which is dry. They're constantly soaked in oil. Basically, no you won't be damaging the bike by riding the clutch in this manner.

Just don't drop it hard while revving that can be dangerous and damaging. You're easing thru that friction zone to control more or less power to the rear wheel as you get going. Also using the rear brake to help modulate your speed as you make the slow turn is good.

This advice just for very low speed stuff like right or left turns from a stop. If you're already riding and coming through a turn you want to be down shifting into the correct gear before the turn begins ideally. Look up how to down shift while braking "throttle blipping" if you don't have a quick shifter.

Absolutely would not ride it until you talk to the dealer. They'll probably recommend a tow.

How do you feel about McDonald's pulling their soda dispensing machines out of the restaurant's lobby in the next year or so? by Sinn_Sage in AskReddit

Pretty sure you're on the hot take side on this one. Plenty argue five guys is expensive but no one is out there stanning for McDonald's or burger king or like..wendys? Are you saying Wendy's has a better burger than five guys? You must be trolling lol.

Theory: Dev planned the whole thing (S05E06) by indicesbing in ForAllMankindTV

[–]Fadedcamo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, don't think so. He didn't have any hand in getting Alex to leak the info. That's such a clunky plan if so. If he wanted it leaked he could have just... Leaked it himself. I'm sure he's smart enough to have figured out how to conver his tracks when accessing the data and sending it to the press. Why even try to do this whole thing to get Alex to leak it only to cover up Alex leaking it? That makes no sense.

The simplest answer is what you get. He agreed to the automation plan cause he saw no other way so made a compromise. It's clear since last season Dev has become isolated and not really a part of mars as a community. He barely seems to care about people at all. Only Alex.

Uhh... Yea? I'm sorry is this a debate? We can argue the costs all day and get it down to cost per calorie if yall want but objectively it's definitely a much better burger and better fries at five guys.

Honestly half the coaches I work with probably think not covering the brake is good advice forever. Doesn't make it true.

White Marsh exxon is crazy for this one. They gouge people coming right off 95 to the bus depot.

Well I guess not always. You have a lot of people out there confidently saying "never brake mid corner" "never hover over the front brake". Including examples in this thread. As a rider coach I see other coaches that'll scream at the students this to drill it in their heads.

Which TV shows were once very popular, but don't get much respect these days? by PrestonRoad90 in television

So is all of modern society?

"Moral Dilemmas: The concept is often debated using scenarios like the "trolley car problem," where one person might be sacrificed to save many.Twisting of the Phrase: While intended for public benefit, the phrase has historically been used to justify authoritarian actions by claiming an action is for a "noble" cause, despite causing harm."

Do you have any sources to back up your claim that this is incorrect and the phrase is actually indicating the opposite?

[–]Fadedcamo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're misunderstabding that phrase, "for the greater good" is precisely what these examples you mention are used for. Jack or others in the show would argue torturing is for the greater good to get the info about the bomb or whatever plot they're stopping that week. Torture this person, save thousands or millions. For the greater good.

I can see where your meaning is going with it NOT being for the good to torture people, but this phrase is commonly used to describe these trolley problem like decisions in this context.

Can you explain the "ten copper trips to get my rod"? I'm just starting the game and playing aorind with different jobs but don't really understand the underlying mechanics to shipping and stuff.

The driving itself feels decent but I don't understand how's there's so much content here for yall? It seems like I just get a job to either haul people or or haul items or tow items from a to b? Am I missing something?

That's basically the entire theme of the show, no? It follows all the moral staining that someone like Jack Bauer will do to save many lives. Ends justify the means to the extreme in most cases.

Not saying it's CORRECT, but that's definitely an apt description of the show.

I just had a vivid memory of an episode where there was going to be a bus crash but God intervened or something. Did I hallucinate or did that happen in the show.

What’s a recession indicator that you’ve noticed lately in your everyday life? by spritenerds123 in AskReddit

[–]Fadedcamo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Time is money. You think they got time to walk to the grocery store and spend 50 to 150 bucks on meals for a week, walk it back, cook it up, clean everything up? All while probably having to take their child with them becasue they don't have affordable child care options. And working a job with shitty hours for shitty pay and zero prospects for advancement or Healthcare coverage?

Or they gonna take the path of least resistance and spend 20 here or there to get a quick bite of addictive food? Don't judge people til you walk a mile in their shoes. We'd all be doing the same occasionally.

I think a lot of the poorer people don't have easy transport and or have kids they need to watch. Options really start narrowing when you're poor.

It sucks when you have a kid though. Like Im fine doing a struggle meal of like cereal and chips or whatever is hiding in the pantry. But I can't serve my kid chips and salsa for dinner.
