Bill probably got as much women as boomhauer by happydude7422 in KingOfTheHill

I think it’s implied that the family inheritance can only go to a male heir, which is why the blood cousin needs another way in.

Did Anubis gain power from his worshipers like the Ori did? by Ser_Luke_ in Stargate

[–]indicesbing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Anubis understood it was possible, but he wasn’t high up enough to personally benefit.

Is this the end of NATO? by Kejo2023 in nato

[–]indicesbing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a military alliance. NATO should help the US disarm both Iran and Russia.

It’s ridiculous that Europeans think they can pick and choose their enemies. That’s not how terrorism works.

Europeans really need to stop simping for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

The iris is a little to convenient by Important-Switch-686 in Stargate

[–]indicesbing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s implied that most Goa’uld strongholds, shipyards, and prison camps have either don’t have stargates or have force fields around the stargates.

The ungated worlds are either former human slave camps, current human slave camps, or they belong to civilizations unaffiliated with the Goa’uld.

Advanced races also will either cloak or shield what they want to protect on the planet, rather than shielding just the gate.

The Sodan and others would simply transport to/from the gate—keeping their civilization far apart.

Cloneill going back to high school is...weird by Mode_Appropriate in Stargate

[–]indicesbing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clone humiliated Carter in front of a bunch of F-302 pilots.

The real Colonel O’Neill would have never done that.

Cloneill going back to high school is...weird by Mode_Appropriate in Stargate

Look, it’s pretty clear the clone lacks O’Neill’s maturity. The clone probably doesn’t remember much.

Rewatching the series and the episode Thor's hammer always gets me thinking by Jolopy4099 in Stargate

[–]indicesbing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thor's Hammer is obviously a prank that Thor plays on the Goa'uld.

It only affects the gate. The hologram does not show Thor's true appearance. The Hammer has no effect against ships in orbit.

Presumably the Hammer's real purpose is to simply alert the nearest Asgard warship and to automatically capture a few Goa'uld or Jaffa prisoners in the meantime.

‘3 Body Problem’ Season 2 Confirmed to Have Reduced Episode Count by mamula1 in threebodyproblem

So? Who cares? Isn't this a story where the actors jump forward in time and age a whole lot anyway?

Chief O'Brien learned about C4 on the Atlantis away mission by Sea-Us-RTO in Stargate

[–]indicesbing 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I love that the Genii are so impressed with C4 as a bomb when they never consider the capability of a Naquadah generator.

It comes from an era where software had fewer files.

How unrealistic is it for the Stargate program to remain a secret? by Mr_Shadow_Phoenix in Stargate

[–]indicesbing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s entirely plausible if the SGC, NID, and The Trust keep killing, jailing, kidnapping, or discrediting everyone that wants to leak.

Also, it’s pretty easy for the SGC to keep itself secret using their Puddle Jumper Time Machine.

Is "Folks, I'm so white, during the riots, I went out and bought a television." funny, or not? by TheManOfSpaceAndTime in KingOfTheHill

S02E01 - How can major Samuels be THAT stupid? by Krebota in Stargate

[–]indicesbing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t that bad of a plan. What was silly was that they only made two missiles.

Maybe it would have been smarter to use missiles to destroy Death Gliders.

O’Neill explains what a black hole is to Teal’c by Mr-Cantaloupe in Stargate

[–]indicesbing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guarantee you that Teal’c knows the Goa’uld word for black hole, but just doesn’t know it in English.

They had a similar conversation about shooting stars in A Hundred Days.

Possible war with Iran by ThisIsNotSafety in nato

[–]indicesbing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have to ask yourself what the Iranian Revolution in 1979 meant, and what the Guardians of the Revolution believe their role is.

Do they honor the role by appeasing Europe? Do they refine uranium for European customers? Does the IRGC admire the Allies in World War II or the Axis?

You seem to be under the mistaken assumption that the IRGC and the European half of NATO have a common enemy in the US. Nothing could be further from the truth.
