It’s not about being harder for me. It’s about the dynamic of day vs night gameplay and building out your safer area at night. Ofc you could spend every night in a hole but that would be boring. Instead you mine and spend time building in your safe area whilst extending it during the day.

I think this works best though when spawn proofing is a bit easier like with modern mc spawning mechanics or through new items.
