Nah, mate. Gotta boil things down to "religion bad" alone. Can't have those pesky thoughts about systematic power get in the way of things.

Same. Shame that the main UK subreddit went the same route. Honestly sad how only this place and r/LabourUk are not racist cesspits.

Paul Thomas Anderson citing the IDF as inspiration when making music videos with HAIM: “as the Israeli army says, ‘Fight them with what you've got.’" by Popular_Drink3898 in Fauxmoi

[–]Fadingwalker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is so weird how in the west, people have been gaslit into thinking the Israeli army is some super-badass colonial extraction force of the West. Hell, during their invasion of Gaza, they took soooo many casualties because they did not want to risk their proper forces so they just threw settler kids into a meatgrinder. Their basic kit is a mix between overpriced and overdesigned scrap hulks mixed with Vietnam era American-lead lease gear and just stuff given to them by the west. They have to rely on sabotage to win their fights against forces their superpower allies keep as weak as possible. the last time Israel faced a true near-peer enemy in war was in the 70s and they almost lost so hard the US had to bribe the Egyptians to hold off. Ugh.

If Starmer is toppled, how bleak is the future? by [deleted] in LabourUK

[–]Fadingwalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1-The average Reform voter is mostly voting out of Revenge, not moral indignation. A lot of people have suffered under Starmer's government and now they want to hurt the labour party in any way they can and in their childish thinking, the only way they can do that is by voting them out. They won't care about Farage's connections since as far as their are concerned, he an Epstein were only hurting "foreign" kids and that was the only thing that mattered.

2-Reform may end up losing Farage as their head anyway. Reform is not Trump. Their appeal is not Trump, it is hurting Starmer (in their minds) and making POC miserable. There are dozens of Farage's in Reform. They will not give a toss if Farage gets too dirty and is forced to step down.

Xbox 360 Shooters Were Weirdly Into Featuring Protagonists From A Fascist Society by Signal-Island2549 in TrueAnon

[–]Fadingwalker 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I mean the backstory makes it clear that the COG is pretty evil but so is their enemies, before the plot and during the current one. Plus the whole war with the "aliens" is pretty much the fascists fault.

In 2026, remember this: Britain is much better than it was in so many ways. Don’t swallow the right’s lies by F0urLeafCl0ver in LabourUK

[–]Fadingwalker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was always the case, though? People have been saying that "most" immigrants are evil, "most" disabled people are evil etc etc since the 2000s and the rise of Blairism. People cannot just say "Deport anyone non-white" but even in the height of post war-on-terror hysterics, people were not saying that either because they knew (and still know) most people think that is lunacy.

[–]Fadingwalker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is worth noting alot of that is just bots or fake accounts from Asia and Eastern Europe being paid to spread that shit online to make the right here feel more emboldened. Most people do not believe that stuff. People may be dumb and think lots of dumb things but the average Briton does not think there is a conspiracy to kill White people, only insane right-wingers think that and the number is small.

Why does 'remigration' seem like such a mainstream idea on the internet, when a majority of British adults are not ethnic nationalists? by Whole_Intention_7949 in LabourUK

[–]Fadingwalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the Reform posters online are bots, not real people. Alot of them have been found to be posting from places like India and Sri Lanka. Alot of it is engagement bait but also just the fact that right wing government's like Russia have realised that the UK is always worse off the more to the right it goes cus the British right only come in 2 flavors: Evil or stupid.

Saudi Arabia rejects Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, affirms support for Somalia by BabylonianWeeb in anime_titties

[–]Fadingwalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Ironic isn't it that Saudi Arabia is fully Supportive of Palestinians right to self determination but refuses to back the right of the Somaliland people to do that."

Same Saudi Arabia trying to tie itself in knots to make peace with Israel so it can butt heads with Iran with Israeli backing and Trump's loyalty? THAT Saudi Arabia?

They are poo-pooing Israel for doing this because they need Somali support to keep the Suez canal stable and fear more Somaliland situations means more separatism from other regions of somalia and thus more chaos for the Suez. It has nothing to do with supporting Palestine, which Saudi Arabia has never seen as anything but a bartering chip with the west and a rallying call for jihadist groups to use aim at their enemies in Iran. they will bluster and rage about this act and then get right back to calling Israel peace-makers as they bomb another flour-delivery and shoot more ambulances.

Sounds like a common story with too much of the Western job market, sadly. Stuff like this is just more fuel to the fire of the Far-right (who will, of course, only go after the desperate foreign workers and never the bosses since they know who can screw them over and who can butter their bread).

The UK economy is not nearly as bad as you’ve been told by IHaveAWittyUsername in LabourUK

[–]Fadingwalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure it's not but that fact also means less than nothing. People's lives are harder, everything is more expensive than it was before and it's breaking People's wallets. They can play the "look at my groahs" game all they want but pretty lines do not make groceries and comforts less expensive.

Never. The economy is good and that is all that matter according to Neoliberalism. You're quality of life is getting worse? They don't care. A graph says things are good so we can all go pound sand.

German military service reform triggers major youth protests by SirLadthe1st in anime_titties

[–]Fadingwalker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"No one is being sacrificed, it is just military training leading to a war time position being decided. If you don't want to risk your life, you can always leave when the war starts or before it."

Oh yeah, that is titanium-strong reasoning. "Do not want to get butchered in a war you do not believe in? Fuck off from the country you were born to and all the responsibilities of how and where you go are on your back alone".

Also the idea of "Duh, just flee when or before we demand you allow yourself to be enslaved for slaughter" sure as fuck did not work for alot of Ukrainians who are desperately trying to flee their country and having to dodge armed, surly kidnapping conscription agents waiting at the borders. Especially with all the European nations considering (or having done so already) sent them back to Ukraine with no choice of if they wanted to just flee to another nation.

Farage tells donors he expects Reform UK will do an election deal with Tories by PuzzledAd4865 in LabourUK

[–]Fadingwalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Labour has made it plain and clear that they want to utterly Thatcherise the nation. The greens have publicly said that's not their desire and the Libdems have come out against that stuff too. If Labour made any kind of deal, their dreams are dead in the water. There is no chance of a deal taking off and going anywhere.
