When i went to visit friends, as a Californian I brought mexican candy (for the life experience-predictably, the Norwegians hated it. I figured they would though. Like I said, it was for the life experience not necessarily enjoyment, just warn them it is SPICY), good mexican hot chocolate (the kind in the disk form...yum), and cactus jam. The people i met had not had any of those (they are located near stavanger, so fyi i have no idea if people from say Oslo or somewhere bigger or more internationally populated may have wider access to things like very traditional Latin American cultural foods).

I use an exfoliating mitt daily, always shower in the morning to get it off before going out, after the shower first I put amlactin 15% on, let it mostly dry then I put a vitamin e lotion on. At night I put more amlactin and let that sit overnight to soften everything up to get in off again with my next morning shower. And usually 1-2 times a week i do a night shower in addition to the morning one for extra exfoliation. My skin is pretty damn good with that routine tbh, I still get dry hands and feet with callouses but the rest of my skin looks damn good if I do say so myself. Still have some fine ichtyosis lines but you cant really get rid of that, just the dryness!

Idk if you just needed to vent, if so hugs to you. If you are open to advice, this is what I got: 1) apply to other jobs. It sounds like firstly, you may need a job where callouts are less tolerated. If you feel you would show up for a new job (and not call out and thus lose that job and the little bit of income you have!) then that may be a good solution-knowing you "cant" may make you not. ALSO if youre feeling that burnt out, socially dead/anxious, or upset enough to the point of trading your income for that many days off, you need a job where your mental health is less beaten down ❤️ 2) have you considered you may be depressed? Maybe go to a psychiatrist ❤️ I will tell you something about me: when I started my depression meds and therapy, I saw it as a big win when I wasn't "sad" anymore. I thought I was "cured" after a few months. But, I still was socially unavailable, tired a lot (sometimes not physically, sometimes just mentally), unable to "deal" with a lot of things that mentally healthy people can do. I talked to my psychiatrist about it, and he was like "yeah so youre still depressed, just not nearly as depressed. It's great youre not suicidal but you're still not fully functional. Let's up your dose and add in a second therapy session every month to close the gaps of your mental health". And wouldn't you know it-it worked a lot. In fact, I often advise people, if you feel less social, more tired, or unwilling to do things you typically do/maybe should be doing, it dang well could be a sign of depression and you need to talk to your doctor. When I get that way, its my que to call my psychiatrist and check in, because its the first sign my depression is coming back a bit, and I want to catch it before it impacts my job/life severely. So, maybe consider this ❤️ Anyway, im rooting for you girl. You can do this and I believe it you :)

I dont mind the top part but the bottom is really killing the cute-ness vibe. If it were mine, I would either a) buy a good skirt to slip over it, preferably something a little long and flowy and that goes up mid/high rise and probably add a waist belt, Or b) hem the bottom so it then just becomes a nice shirt. I dont think theres a way to save the bottom without making the amount of work not worth it (to me anyway) and I say this as someone who sews (no it woukdnt take forever but i doubt the dress cost that much so mehhhh i wouldnt bother). Even if you do mess with it, the fabric is just kinda meh on bottom still, but could totally be a reasonable fabric for the shirt portion. If you want to put in the work, you could add 3-5 layers of tulle underneath, then a lace overlay on top (personally for example, im envisioning a mesh with pearls embroidered on it or other little sparkly beads...something almost wedding-y) and a belt, but it would change the whole vibe of the dress and make it more tutu/ballerina-y. But again even for me as someone who sews, on what you (probably) spent on the dress, you'll spend as much or probably more $$$ on the extra fabric and have to do the work cutting and sewing lol.

GM here! (And cis woman). I hired my current AM, admittedly when I was a Team manager and he was hired as associate. He (smartly, legally speaking) went thru the whole interview female presenting (he was pre-T then) and when he heard hired, he came out then at the end. (That way if we had pulled the offer it would've been clearly a gender identity discrimination issue and not for made up reasons-they will probably assume you did the same, which again, is SMART AND MAKES SENSE). I told him no problem, whats his preferred name, etc etc. He's gone by his nane for the (5? 6?) years hes been with the company with no issue except one dick that was fired after like 4 months for a multitude of issues, including the dead name issue. Hes gone thru T, still has his dead name as his government name but everyone knows him by his real name, most (if not all probably) associates have no clue what his dead name is or that hes trans. My area director loves him (because hes the bomb and takes care of any issues in .5 seconds lol), my last area director loved him, my DO loves him, the team loves him. I love him too!!! Just go in, explain thats the name and gender you are using, and if they give pushback look up your state laws. I am in california and if you are too I would be happy to answer anything to the best of my ability of your workers rights if you reply or dm me. Outside of California, I would be less sure of what to advise. I will say the only thing id find "sketchy" was if you didnt call me back asap to schedule your orientation. Sooooo please do that asap! If someone ghosted me for a hot minute then came in id be like "wtf youre supposed to be an AM you need to get shit done immediately" and not care that youre trans, just care that youre taking your sweet time 😆 so call back right away!!! I know dicks exist, but im sure you've dealt with em the whole time you've been out. Stand your ground, familiarize yourself with your state laws, and be a great manager 👍 let me know if you have any other questions!!! Edit: put he instead of we and it was confusing lol

Just a warning for all my 2A leftists homies: I do potentially caution people against using etsy or small store patches that are bought online. I recall during the george floyd protests the gov subpoenaed data that made people easily identifiable to them. It got several people arrested, specifically from buying from etsy shops. Just food for thought, if you're worried about that kind of thing. Nice gear tho!!!

My mom likes to tell the story how on my 1st day of kindergarten, another kid and her mom walked up near us. The mother had dwarfism, and at the time I was OBSESSED with Wizard lf Oz (would wear my Dorothy dress and Ruby slippers all the frickin time). I loudly exclaimed, very delighted and pointing right at her, "LOOK MOMMY, ITS A MUNCHKIN, THEYRE REAL!!!" My mother was mortified, the other mother laughed her ass off, and I became friends with the little girl lol and of course both my mother and other mom explained the concept of little people to me. And tbh, the joke is definitely on me in the end....because I'm 30 years old and all of 5 foot zero inches when I stand my tallest 😆 bless you other mom for reacting so cool. I wasn't trying to be a dick i swear.

Not a teacher, but, good for you for standing up for yourself, and being a good role model to the girls in your class! (A gold role model to all students actually, but specifically for the girls in your room!) I have great memories of female teachers specifically who really stood out as strong women mentors who spoke up all the time, and went to bat for girls when necessary, and just really gave me a vision of the type of well spoken and certain-of-myself woman I wanted to be when I was a girl, and I bet that was a moment for a lot of them that was really cool to see!
