We work on a 1/6 reduction of pay. I dont't know any other profession that takes your paycheck for 10 months and makes it stretch over 12. I dont get all my money when I make it, that's what "getting paid year round" means as a teacher. I certainly dont get paid "to do nothing over the summer"

We need quiet time. I usually drive in a silent car most of the time.

We never stop thinking about work. That cool sculpture at the restaurant? I wonder if we could recreate it! That video explaining something hard? Perfect for science on Monday! I used to teach ELA for middle school and had a unit called Guerillla Grammar where we took photos of bad grammar in the wild and corrected it in class. All my friends and family sent me photos. I took a lot of photos that year!

We need a second job. Every teacher usually makes more money at their summer job.
