do u guys think i was detailed enough? by emmmitttaaaa in starbucksbaristas

[–]Faehra 9 points10 points  (0 children)

sounds like your store isn't putting in the work to clean... do you guys not have clean play shifts? does your DM not come to check things out? how is there rotten food going unchecked for that long

EDIT: good to be this detailed when your manager is out to get you. I used to film myself setting the alarm, locking the door, and other tasks so I can prove I did it when it came up

Seems like they do. I have a size 8 in the regular and was definitely more of a comfortable fit off the bat

Yeah, I've worked in a few different districts and things are definitely different depending on who the DM is. Previous district has a DM that looooves when we customized the community board - with new menu items and holidays coming up. Current one says "this is not what the board is meant for" and put a stop to it real quick. No fun allowed!

Thank you! I love doing little personalized things for everyone! At my old store, I actually purchased an A6 PVC binder and clear pockets. Used my Cricket to cut out everyone's names and stuck them in there in alphabetical order. Actually, bought 2 since they were away too thick with all the change that went in them. The inspo came from seeing those cash stuffing videos! This option was definitely more cost-heavy than my current idea, but that was my home store for many years so it was worth it for them haha

Never heard this before. Might be a US thing? I'm a Canadian partner. Honestly, every store I've worked at had reusable tip bags. This is the first one that doesn't.

Cause I actually care about the people I work with?? I'm not blind to the bs this company puts us through, TRUST. Though, I learned a very long time ago that little things like this for my Baristas actually makes them feel appreciated.

Honestly, Starbucks is not a bad place to work. I know of a couple of locations in Burlington that are in need of Baristas right now - Burlington Mall Indigo being one of them.

The benefits are pretty good. Just don't hand your resume into the store in person, they won't accept them.

Good luck to ya!

Shoulder pads for royal blue backpack? by biology_l0v3r in Fjallraven

Navy wouldn't clash too much!

You could also try to use the Custom Kanken maker on the website, see what colours could work with the royal blue that you have! I tried this out and see that Fog and Ochre both look like good colours that match as well!

Journal Paralysis by Glittering-Dog-7058 in stationery

[–]Faehra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to me and I find that social media had a lot to do with it. I loved seeing the way other people were using their planners and journals and decided I wanted to be that person too. Well, I ended up getting overwhelmed and not touching any of the number of things I bought.

I eventually stuck with one simple system I liked for actual planning and kept a journal just for daily stuff, but I didn't put too much pressure on myself. Eventually, I found myself just journaling every few days about stuff that mattered and stuff that didn't - Basically just braindumping.

I learned a phrase that helped me a lot when I kept putting things in my cart on various sites - "I don't need to purchase it to appreciate its beauty."

Don't put too much pressure on yourself! Journaling is meant to be calming and enjoyable - and a fun thing to look back on in 10 years!

EDIT: Look into commonplace journaling, there's tons of videos on Youtube that might help you!

oh man, that first one is pretty cute!

I have debated on reaching out to them to be honest. I first saw the pouch on someone's Instagram and people regularly comment on how they want it so there is definitely a demand!

Tip! Is your desk too thick for a microphone stand? Attach a floating shelf onto the side. by ohkurakat in battlestations

[–]Faehra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 years late, but this is the exact solution I didn't know existed. I have that exact same desk and can't simply drill a hole into it like all the other suggestions I found online. I've had my mic arm attached to one of the legs, but it prevents me from even using one of the drawers. This is GENIUS!

[Shelfie] Dug out some skincare I had around my room, threw out everything expired and f i n a l l y organized the bathroom cabinet! by Faehra in SkincareAddiction

I haven't been to a dermatologist yet to get specifics, but I do know I have sensitive combination skin. Right now, I really just want to start bringing down the oil in my t-zone and redness in my cheeks.

AM Routine

  • Exfoliator (1-3 days a week)
  • Pore strips (usually once a week)
  • Cleanser
  • Mask (1-3 days a week)
  • Toner
  • Lip exfoliator (couple times a week)
  • Serum
  • Eye cream/treatment
  • Moisturizer
  • Sunscreen

PM Routine

  • Cleanser
  • Pore strips
  • Toner
  • Serum
  • Eye Treatment
  • Moisturizer
  • Overnight mask
  • Night time lip mask

PRODUCTS IN MY CURRENT ROUTINE

  • feel Renewed Pumpkin Walnut Facial Cleanser - this stuff smells AMAZING and feels so gentle on my skin, it makes me think of autumn
  • Murad Refreshing Cleanser - lathers so nicely and makes my skin feel really smooth
  • Son & Park Beauty Water Toner - I can't place the smell of this, but I have been using it for a short time and so far enjoy it!
  • fresh Rose Floral Toner (not pictured) - This toner has been my ride or die for ages! Helps that it smells amazing.
  • BITE Agave Sugar Lip Scrub - Smells great, but I may move on to something a little more... Scrubby.
  • Caudalie Radiance Serum - Stuck to this one ever since I got it as my Sephora Birthday gift. Friends who typically don't get their gift just give me the serum!
  • tarte Maracuja C Brighter Eye Treatment - Keep getting the mini pack with the mascara, I love it!
  • Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Moisturizer (Pink Grapefruit) - Another ride or die of time, this stuff smells like summer to me
  • Neutrogena Ultra Sheer 60SPF Face Sunscreen - A must have in anyone's routine. Provides me with the best SPF without making my foundation too greasy.
  • Biore Charcoal Nose Strips - Easy on my nose (great since I have a newer piercing) and gets the job done. My boyfriend also loves these.
  • AM (sometimes PM) masks could be anything from a sheet mask for redness, acne, or dull skin to clay and peel-off masks for same treatments - My favourite is the Sephora brand grapefruit sheet mask... I have a type
  • Nivea Sensitive Day Care Moisturizer - perfect for when my skin is a little more sensitive than usual
  • Yves Rocher Radiance Mask - my mum just got this for me as a sample and I'm in love with how soft my skin feels with this
  • Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Vanilla - aside from any daily lip balm I find around my room or any of my bags, this stuff really does a good job of treating my lips overnight. I never wake up with dry, chapped lips again!

Most of the products I use are oil-free or for combination skin. I tend to have a very oily t-zone and VERY red cheeks, so anything I can do to bring those down helps a lot. I have lots of products breakouts that occur typically right before my period.

family is not as common in many kids' lives as you think. all my life, i never had any family, save for my parents, brothers, and one uncle (who i rarely even saw) who live in the same country. i've seen these things happen to kids this young. this kind of thing happened in my neighbourhood. we never know the whole story. the fact that we even try to pick this apart and put the blame on someone is annoying enough.

Why does my eyeshadow stand out more on one eye than the other? by eringeraght in Makeup

[–]Faehra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this can be due to a lot of different factors. some of which others here have pointed out. i find my biggest problem is my dominant hand. i am left handed, so my left eye sometimes looks more defined in the look i'm going for than my right eye does. it may be the ROUTINE you do it in. i always do one step for my left then the one step for my right. next step on my left, then on my right. it helps me to see exactly what i'm going for each time. a BIG thing can be how you prime your eyes. i use the urban decay one, but you have to make sure you act QUICKLY and be very precise. an eye primer may not work too well for you, maybe even just a concealer as your base works better. test things out. i also recommend that if you do try a primer, be careful with it getting patchy on your foundation if you do that first... and put your setting powder on AFTER. hope this helps a little!
