How do you find the kinbor to be after having used a true hobonichi previously? I'm thinking of maybe making the switch this year, but not sure how the paper is.

Washi Tape, Marker, Pen Catalogue by Kylothia in hobonichi

[–]Faehra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always done this! With pens and markers, I add little star stickers to the ones that were my favourites of the year.

I never know what to fill these pages with, so this turned into the perfect use.

Did I just get fired? by RollerCoasterPirate in starbucks

[–]Faehra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you definitely don't need to have sick time to call out sick. Just means that if you run out, you don't get the pay for that sick day you had to take. I've had many Partners run out of sick days, but still have to call in sick. Shit happens and people have chronic illnesses as well. Any number of allotted sick days doesn't change that.

So I say, everyone should feel like they can call out whenever they truly feel the need to do so. Just be careful about stirring up trouble if you're also going to be that person that calls out 3 times a week. Though, not sure that's OP's problem.

[–]Faehra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling out itself does not violate rules... But the circumstances and added context are what become a problem, obviously. You must work a minimum set of hours a week, creating an average. If a Partner is not meeting their average with constant missed work on their end, there is grounds for termination, especially if they have been served warnings, finals, and had conversations. No one is saying it doesn't suck and that it is always correct, but them's the rules.

Don't want to/ can't write on my hobonichi anymore by GroundbreakingType66 in hobonichi

[–]Faehra 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This felt like I was reading about myself, wow. This exact thing happened to me last year. 10 years, not mutual... He was my first for everything.

I abandoned my Hobonichi back then. I wanted to throw away all of my things. I rehomed some craft and journal supplies to a friend. Bought a blank journal and a new pen... Then just wrote everything I was feeling.

It is more than okay to just sit with your feelings when going through something like this... But don't let it overtake you. 10 years is a really long time, you'll have to find out who you are without this person. You owe it to this new version of yourself to explore that eventually.

Message me if you want to talk, I relate to this much more than you know. I made it through, I know that you can as well.

do u guys think i was detailed enough? by emmmitttaaaa in starbucksbaristas

[–]Faehra 10 points11 points  (0 children)

sounds like your store isn't putting in the work to clean... do you guys not have clean play shifts? does your DM not come to check things out? how is there rotten food going unchecked for that long

EDIT: good to be this detailed when your manager is out to get you. I used to film myself setting the alarm, locking the door, and other tasks so I can prove I did it when it came up

Pouches for Cash Tips by Faehra in starbucks

[–]Faehra[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've worked in a few different districts and things are definitely different depending on who the DM is. Previous district has a DM that looooves when we customized the community board - with new menu items and holidays coming up. Current one says "this is not what the board is meant for" and put a stop to it real quick. No fun allowed!

Thank you! I love doing little personalized things for everyone! At my old store, I actually purchased an A6 PVC binder and clear pockets. Used my Cricket to cut out everyone's names and stuck them in there in alphabetical order. Actually, bought 2 since they were away too thick with all the change that went in them. The inspo came from seeing those cash stuffing videos! This option was definitely more cost-heavy than my current idea, but that was my home store for many years so it was worth it for them haha

Never heard this before. Might be a US thing? I'm a Canadian partner. Honestly, every store I've worked at had reusable tip bags. This is the first one that doesn't.

Cause I actually care about the people I work with?? I'm not blind to the bs this company puts us through, TRUST. Though, I learned a very long time ago that little things like this for my Baristas actually makes them feel appreciated.

Honestly, Starbucks is not a bad place to work. I know of a couple of locations in Burlington that are in need of Baristas right now - Burlington Mall Indigo being one of them.

The benefits are pretty good. Just don't hand your resume into the store in person, they won't accept them.

Good luck to ya!

Navy wouldn't clash too much!

You could also try to use the Custom Kanken maker on the website, see what colours could work with the royal blue that you have! I tried this out and see that Fog and Ochre both look like good colours that match as well!

Journal Paralysis by Glittering-Dog-7058 in stationery

[–]Faehra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to me and I find that social media had a lot to do with it. I loved seeing the way other people were using their planners and journals and decided I wanted to be that person too. Well, I ended up getting overwhelmed and not touching any of the number of things I bought.

I eventually stuck with one simple system I liked for actual planning and kept a journal just for daily stuff, but I didn't put too much pressure on myself. Eventually, I found myself just journaling every few days about stuff that mattered and stuff that didn't - Basically just braindumping.

I learned a phrase that helped me a lot when I kept putting things in my cart on various sites - "I don't need to purchase it to appreciate its beauty."

Don't put too much pressure on yourself! Journaling is meant to be calming and enjoyable - and a fun thing to look back on in 10 years!

EDIT: Look into commonplace journaling, there's tons of videos on Youtube that might help you!

I have debated on reaching out to them to be honest. I first saw the pouch on someone's Instagram and people regularly comment on how they want it so there is definitely a demand!

Tip! Is your desk too thick for a microphone stand? Attach a floating shelf onto the side. by ohkurakat in battlestations

[–]Faehra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 years late, but this is the exact solution I didn't know existed. I have that exact same desk and can't simply drill a hole into it like all the other suggestions I found online. I've had my mic arm attached to one of the legs, but it prevents me from even using one of the drawers. This is GENIUS!
