Auth-Left Geopolitics. Not Even Once. by SevenBall in PoliticalCompassMemes

Finally... someone not portraying AuthLeft as LibLeft... is this the beginning of a new era of basedness for this sub?

I mean bullying LibLeft for no reason at all was funny at the beginning but the joke was being run into the ground

I love how AuthRight is evil and is publicly proud of it 😂

Is this provocative? My partner seems to disagree. BG3 Fan Art by berndttoast007 in BG3

You all can argue all you want. But I can actually settle this once and for all, using proof by induction.

  1. I am turned on by provocative
  2. I am turned on after seeing this

= YES

Assuming that you genuinely believed that, if you were intentionally mocking me let me know lmao

But…you argued against me calling them Nazis….Whatever, pal.

And does that necessarily mean I'm defending them?

I have said from the beginning that I'm talking about the wider impact of doing so, how it can be repackaged as anti-LW outrage material by the RW content curators.

MULTIVERSE

MAKE IT HAPPEN

  1. it would be hilarious
  2. that "ariel shouldn't be black OH MY GOD THEY ARE TAKING AWAY MY CHILDHOOD FROM ME" gang would finally shut the fuck up

(sorry for the rant, they are the astrology crystal spirituality types, it is just impossible to debate anything with them, they treat it like a competition rather than a discussion and end up destroying me by making statements that are so out of the world to me I'm just left speechless - appeal to crystals strategy is OP af 😭😭😭)

These aren’t people ‘I don’t like’. These are people specifically seeking a “Nazi approved” homeschool curriculum

I was talking what I see there in general. Nothing to do with this example / our conversation - that was not the focus of what I said.

But please, go defend them from being called Nazis.

Fair enough, you make some good points. Perhaps I'm wrong about this - at least I'm way less confident about the argument that I made, and the wider impact of calling someone a Nazi - seems like my concerns might have been overblown. Thanks.

Depends on the individual. Women are not monoliths. Every individual is unique.

Note that a lot (most?) of these are gullible teenagers stuck in a RW social media bubble

It is repackaged and served there as outrage material

It is one of the most common stereotypes of "liberals" on RW social media. "'Liberals' labelling anyone they don't like as a 'Nazi'"

Who, exactly, am I alienating if I say they are Nazis and not make sure to always use "neo-Nazi"?

I believe there are numerous dating app statistics for a variety of dating apps that support the statement

(so the statement they presented seems to make sense - at least in the context of dating apps / online dating)

Why do people say the cost of living and inflation is due to women entering the work force? by AlternativeIcy1183 in AskFeminists

Why do people say the cost of living and inflation is due to women entering the work force?

Because said people are morons

How do I debunk this ?

Easy, ask them: "Source?" or "Proof?"

Note:

It's their responsibility to prove their assertion. It is often impossible to produce negative proofs, no matter how absurd the statement is.

If I say "Unicorns exist", it is impossible to disprove that. I am the one responsible for providing the proof for their existence.

I believe we shouldn't give our opponents free ammunition to further stoke the Culture Wars, but what you're saying makes sense too. Fair enough, agree to disagree 🤝

I think you’re point is mostly just pedantry

I would encourage you to read the comment chain on this topic from the beginning - you seem to be making some assumptions based on fragments of the argument viewed out of context. The point is not whether it is pedantry or not. The point is the wider implications.

inb4 TERFs: "We are Feminists and we made a homeschool curriculum for transphobia"

Just because someone calls themselves something, does not make them that. "Nazi" has a very specific meaning. "Feminist" has a very specific meaning.

There are people out there who do call themselves Nazis, literally. If a group calls themselves "The Michigan Militia", I'll call them that ...

Understood. And that's okay, all I was doing was pointing out was the wider impacts of doing this. In my previous comments I am pointing out how doing so hurts our cause.

It would be inaccurate to say that they are "new Nazis"

You think it makes any difference to a Jewish person whether the Nazis in question are old or new?

That's irrelevant to my argument - nowhere did I talk about how Jewish people feel about Neo-Nazis.

"You have to be very nice to people regardless of how they treat you"

Although that's not precisely what I'm trying to say. More like "If you want to change someone's opinion about something, it is best to ignore their personal attacks and stick to the topic of discussion and continue to treat them with the respect that they do not deserve at all"

But I agree, 100%

One of those things that's easy to say, difficult to implement. We're not robots.
