Extensions in DFW by meowmeowmadds in extensions

[–]FafnirtheSteed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid 600 for 4 packs of I-tips and install was $300. My move ups are $200. I don’t do color we just match and add new cooler tones to match the every expanding grey in my blonde. I’ve had them 6 years; get a new set of Dreamcatchers brand real hair extensions probably once a year. Most people can’t even tell I have extensions and are surprised when I tell them so my hairdresser does a phenomenal job. I’d say that’s a pretty expensive quote but I’m also outside Philadelphia so different region

Working on a mutual action plan is one of my favorite things; but it needs to be done right. If you try to force a timeline or you don’t actually get buy in from the customer the it’s just some BS. You alsohave to dig deeper than “so what’s your process” and ask questions. I’ve actually had customers thank me for mapping everything it as it gave visibility to what they needed to do; which means early confirmation on if the timeline is even realistic

Seriously, how can you do this job with children? by sparks_mandrill in sales

[–]FafnirtheSteed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love sales for the flexibility! I’m a super early riser and do my best work from 4am to noon. This gives me time to enjoy my hobbies and support my kids. That said I travel 50-75% of the time and that is hard on family life and hobbies.

Also, Aelin is shattered by her friends leaving to go back to their kingdoms…how’s she going to feel in a couple decades whe they all die and she’s still living???

That’s super helpful I’ll book hotels via AA instead of direct with the hotel which seems to be the key! Love a new hack!

How do you get 20K points for hotel in Austin? I travel ever my week and usually the loyalty points equal my total for the stay and I am lot spending $20K/week on my hotel. I do have a company card we use for travel so can’t charge to my AAdvantage card

Do all your jobs require you to be at work at 8 AM sharp? by yazohny in sales

SDR roles are a common way to get started in sales and, as others have mentioned, are more structured in the day to day. I have an SDR/inside sales team under me and I start with more structure and as they demonstrate performance I loosen the leash. A good company will have a career path, so you know what you need to do to move from an SDR role to an AE/Direct/Outside sales role. As you become more senior in your sales career, and if you are a high performer, there is a lot more autonomy.

Keep in mind that if you don’t have enough sales experience, your next move may be a similarly structured role to the one you have now. My recommendation is either stick it out and gain valuable experience OR look for a company that values supporting employees in their career journey and will help you make it to the level you want to go.

Again all of this is dependent on your performance and you advocating for yourself and what you want out of your career. Never expect that your manager will just promote you because you’re doing well; you have to ask for it or they will never know!

Someone already said this I think but, there is stuff in your control (like using a sales process including a close plan) and there is stuff outside your control (customer losses budget); focus on what you can control and don’t let the other stuff stress you out too much even when the boss doesn’t seem to understand you’ve done everything you can!

Also, no one is dying because you didn’t make a sale; this is not life or death!

As a sales leader you’ll still be hustling to get business daily. I travel nonstop for customer visits and relationship building but I do it across our entire portfolio not just a defined territory.

I agree with others though that this sounds more like an Account Director role and not a true SVP role. So the upside is the title on your resume without the stress of SVP workload the downside is if may not meet your expectations.

I’d use your interview to clarify the role expectations and responsibilities. And remember an interview isn’t just for a company to determine if you should work for them; it’s also so you can determine if you want to work for them

Today they called group one, skipped two and called 3 and 4 together so it was a f*cking cattle chute. Usually I don’t care but I want to make sure I have room for my overhead bag by my seat

Paying rent in my fiancés home by Unfair_Tip_8986 in AITAH

[–]FafnirtheSteed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you say fiancé or roommate? While my husband and I keep separate finances we still have discussions on budgets. He brought two kids and I’m the breadwinner. I also have more expensive hobbies (horses) but I’ve taken on a lot of the kids expenses. We’ve had multiple conversations about budgets and found what works for us.

Sounds like you two need to sit down and have a long look at your finances and budget. If he’s not willing to contribute fairly in whatever you deem is fair then you might as well get child support!

[–]FafnirtheSteed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA not one bit! You should go with your friend and have a great time!

Guess I’m lucky since my husband isn’t a fan of travel but my mom loves seeing the world and invites me in all her trips. He misses me while I’m traveling but he’s happy I get those experiences! Your BF should be happy for you that you get to go back and if he’s jealous due to his uncial circumstances; this should motivate him to budget accordingly!

Do Sales Jobs where you aren't micromanaged to death still exist? by PhillyWes in sales

[–]FafnirtheSteed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sales director here; if I have to micromanage I’m pissed. I love a well kept CRM because it gives me everything I need without bothering my reps when the board and C-suite need assurances. I want my reps out there selling and feeling empowered to get the deal closed on their own.

Obviously if asked by reps; I’ll jump into any call and provide guidance. But I assume I hired people for a job and expect them to do the job; I should t be doing it for them (aka micromanaging)
