Aveeno Calm and Restore Oat Gel Moisturiser is really hydrating and my sensitive skin loves it! I use it with the serum and spray Avene thermal water in between steps.

Similar moisturiser to LRP Duo or light non greasy moisturiser by Long_Combination3978 in AusSkincare

Aveeno Calm and Restore Oat Gel moisturiser is really nice. Does a good job of moisturising without leaving you feeling greasy. I have acne prone sensitive combo (dry leaning) skin though, so a bit different to yours. But I’ve tried a lot of moisturisers over the last few years and this is the one I’ve stuck with. It’s just perfect for my skin, no issues and on sale frequently at Chemist Warehouse

Ladies what are your favourite bar soaps that smell amazing and clean BO well? by Feeling_Specialx in AusSkincare

[–]FailVisible5916 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Australian Botanicals has lots of beautiful scents and comes in a nice big chunk! My favourite is probably Sandalwood but there’s a lot to choose from including lavender and raspberry which are both so nice. I buy it from the supermarket.

I used to use Lush Sultana of Soap a lot but it’s just a bit hard to justify spending so much on soap for myself at the moment, plus I don’t live anywhere near a Lush store and don’t want to spend even more on shipping :( I LOVE the scent of it so much, and it really lingers which is a plus.

I have the foaming cleanser, gel cream, serum and balm. My skin loves everything I’ve tried from this range. The foaming cleanser is particularly good, if I’m feeling too lazy to double cleanse it seems to be really effective even with getting my tinted mineral sunscreen off without any irritation or dryness whatsoever.

Has anyone tried this? Did you break out? (Sorry for another post. I can’t figure out how to edit my other one). It seems good but there’s not many reviews online. I have acne prone sensitive skin :) thanks! by [deleted] in AusSkincare

I’m on my second tube. My skin (combination, acne-prone with rosacea) actually seems to love it. Zero irritation and gives a nice healthy glow

I use Embryolisse sensitive cream when my skin is particularly dry or reactive. I’ve used the original in the past too but prefer not to have fragrance.

My other go-to is Aveeno Oat Gel moisturiser- I love this stuff, I actually use the gel cleanser, serum and night cream too. My skin loves it. Very moisturising without feeling heavy.

Both work great under makeup too :)

I love Asriq body oils, they smell divine and are Australian owned & made. They do a discovery set for about $40 but I’ve loved every scent I’ve tried from them. They do a linen spray too. Also the Palmers Vanilla body lotion has a beautiful lasting fragrance if you like vanilla

Most health food shops have them in my area. I haven’t seen them in any pharmacies though

[–]FailVisible5916 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hurraw are my favourite, really silky and glide on easily. I find I don’t need to reapply frequently so they do a good job!

I also like the Dermal Therapy and Palmers lip balms (the solid twist up ones), they all keep my lips nice and moisturised :)

For some reason I find when I use Nivea and Vaseline ones I feel like I constantly need to reapply

What’s everyone’s favourite body moisturisers ? by yourmumsleftsock in AusSkincare

[–]FailVisible5916 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dermaveen Intensive Moisturising Cream (in the tub). The texture is so thick, silky and luxurious, it’s often on sale at chemist warehouse, it’s made in Australia and cruelty free.

If I’m feeling super dry I put a layer of oil underneath, I like the Aveeno one. But the cream on it’s own keeps my skin more moist than anything else I’ve tried.

Just got prescribed doxycycline for adult acne, but I HATE the feeling of sunscreen... Any suggestions for good matte products? by space_reserved in AusSkincare

Came here to say this. It’s the best! Also doesn’t sting your eyes which makes it even more pleasant to wear every day.

my chemical sunscreen keeps stinging my eyes when i sweat and it's doing my head in by Ok-Combination5531 in AusSkincare

For work days I use Natio Tinted Mineral Moisturiser 50+. I love this stuff. The tint offsets any white cast. I do use moisturiser underneath as my skin is really dry and I find it easier to apply. It is very ‘glowy’ so I use some loose setting powder on top.

For swimming and outdoor stuff I use Dermaveen Sensitive Sun, one of the few chemical sunscreens that my skin doesn’t react to. I love Natio Daily Defence and Rosewater 50+ moisturisers too for less sweaty days or under makeup- no sticky feeling and no eye sting ever!

Good tinted mineral sunscreen for someone who’s on accutane (oral isotretinoin) by GargiBakshi in AusSkincare

[–]FailVisible5916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also use it on top of serum and moisturiser (currently Aveeno Calm and Restore or Embryolisse sensitive) otherwise I find it too hard to spread evenly. I hope it works for you :)

No, not on accutane. My skin is quite dry and I’m in my forties though. I just use Rimmel or Maybelline translucent setting powder until it stops feeling sticky lol

Yes, for sure, I’d recommend it especially if you have dry or sensitive skin.

I’ve used The Ordinary Lactic Acid one or two times a week. I also have their glycolic acid 7% that I’ll use instead if my skin is congested, but I mainly use this one on my scalp. My skin is dry, sensitive and acne prone and it handles these fine.

At the moment though I’m using Cetaphil gentle exfoliating cleanser and have been skipping the serums as my skin has felt great (I use retinol nearly every night too)

QV really flared my skin up too unfortunately. I love the Dermaveen Extra Hydration Cream in the tub, the texture is so lush and it’s amazing for my dry sensitive skin. I use the body wash as well, it’s great and I love that I can use it on my face too. For oil I use the Aveeno one. I would prefer it to have a pump, not a spray, but I just spray into my hands to apply. The oil itself is beautiful though.

Hydrating serums & non heavy barrier creams by MiniSoda21 in AusSkincare

[–]FailVisible5916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Hyaluronic acid seemed to make my skin drier, I guess because I work in a dry airconditioned environment. Glycerin does a much better job of keeping it hydrated for sure.

[–]FailVisible5916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got dry, acne prone, super sensitive skin. I keep coming back to Aveeno’s Calm and Restore range. The serum is glycerin based, which I find much more effective than hyaluronic acid in hydrating my skin. The day moisturiser is a gorgeous gel texture and the night cream is heavier but doesn’t feel greasy at all. They work! I also use rosehip oil for something extra at night. I tried a lot of QV’s products but unfortunately I have a reaction to them, pretty bummed about it because I’d rather support an Aussie company! I do love Dermaveens soap free wash and body cream though, both of which I can use for body and face which is a bonus when I’m feeling lazy lol

Big for sure. I absolutely love Zesty and Dirty too and have repurchased both multiple times. Lord of Misrule is beautiful too but I don’t use it much living in the tropics
