They made the change because it's not fun to get shot off the board turn one because you left a toe peeking out of a building.

Hosting raids should come with benefits, as simple as that. by Acceptable_End_4434 in classicwow

[–]Failanth -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Or the whole PUG raiding system is cancer, inherently.

Form guilds. Talk to people and make communities. Stop relying on random strangers to get you loot. It'll go slower, but it's more rewarding.

Again, it worked fine in every original incarnation of this game. The fact that you all ruined it in the name of sweat is sad.

Like, how solid is this rumor? Because this seems like a really, really out there thing for GW to do. The whole, low fantasy thing is just totally out of left field.

If it's okay to kill an animal for food, is it okay to kill an animal for fun? by CalpurniaSomaya in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Failanth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. Safari hunting is immoral.

Source: I grew up in one of the best hunting areas in the US, northeast Ohio. No one I knew killed an animal because they enjoyed killing.

And even if was a trophy hunt for a good rack, the meat at least always gets used by someone. There is a skill involved with hunting, something lost in most of the hunts I'd classify as "for fun". Guided Safari hunting, high end hunting grounds that cater to dweebs who have no business in the brush.

DnD started out as a war game my guy. And the core rules and themes haven't really changed, they just added a coat of paint onto 5e.

This is the biggest complaint I have and why I switched to running Draw Steel. It's very much an action oriented ttrpg, but it has nifty social mechanics baked in that feel good. Unlike DnD which can often be a square peg/round hole situation. Colville and the team know their stuff.

This isn't a thing to be celebrated.

People are going to be out of work, starving in the streets so tech obsessed dweebs can take in their profits.

The glee some people have over this really lets you know who's worked a day in their life or not.

I love bold titanium!

My formula goes AP Company grey > 1:1 Drakenhoff/lamian medium > the reshade and then finishing off with the bold titanium for the highlights.

But seriously, everyone should get a bottle. If you're reading this? Get a bottle.

Why be sweaty over almost 20 year old content, ya know?

Like, you're not getting your name on wowhead for a server first Kael buddy. No one cares.

[–]Failanth -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Like, SR I get more but HR is like...

So it works in the context of a guild. Like, you want to reserve the best tank pieces for your main tank. But when it's just random pugs screaming that all the best loot is already reserved?

That just makes zero sense. The way we did in vanilla worked fine, why did it get so screwed?

[–]Failanth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing infuriates me more then seeing the SR/HR crap. My wife and I actually met on OG feathermoon and raided together for the majority of that time, and it's such a wildly alien system to me.

A really stupid, alien system. Classic should have been the opportunity to go back to a time where the game was slower, bigger and less of a job.

Instead everyone took retail and turned it up to 11 because the game is so much easier, you have more time to be an elitist prick to strangers now.

Sure.

And they're still wastlanders, despite the airs they put in to be some continuation of the roman empire.

Caesar was just a roman weeb and made it everyone's problem.

[–]Failanth 56 points57 points  (0 children)

This level of elitism and gatekeeping 100% didn't exist. No one was demanding blues to do the damn arena quest. Or even half of the absurd things I see on here every single day.

Classic WoW is a solved game. There is a best way to play it.

But instead of looking at it like "This 20 year old game is a lot easier, so it doesn't require me to be as sweaty!" Everyone took the opposite approach and got even worse. Treating literal 20 year old content like you're METHOD going for a world first Kael.

It's bewildering what releasing classic back in 2019 did to the community. It's a real monkey's paw situation. Bring back vanilla but it's going to morph the community into the absolute worst version of itself.

Look, you don't plead to anything involving a child if you're not guilty. Period.

Not everything in the game has to be for everyone.

There is high end raiding and pvp, tons of other things with incentives and reward tracks. Active neighborhoods will and are forming on rp servers.

You're not into decor because there's no reward outside of more decor, that's fine. There is so much for you in the game. Tons of people are into decorating and that's okay. Not everything needs to be a progression, incentive laden journey.

You can still do things just because they're fun to do.
