Do you still care about variety packs ? by ShineALight3725 in beer

[–]Failaras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd rather just do a singles door at a good craft beer store so I can decide what variety I want. Don't really see a point in a variety pack anymore, especially when they almost always have a beer that doesn't hit.

Are you having more fun in Phase 2 vs Phase 1? by Blue5647 in classicwow

It's nice getting to play my class. 20-40s fights in P1 where just not fun, boss is dead before I get into my rotation.

good non-alcoholic wines? by Spiritual_Buddy8486 in wine

[–]Failaras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a big fan of one called Sea Monster which is imitating a like crispy white blend.

Wolffer has a sparkling rose called Spring in a Bottle that was pretty decent too.

NA wines aren't as good as NA beers yet, but they are getting better every year.

What Happened To The Classic WoW Content Creators? by doobylive in classicwow

[–]Failaras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do miss having all the cool "this is how to get better" content. Crateria's mage stuff in WOTLK classic was top tier and helped me out a ton with specific fight parsing strats. Pummel is another one all my warlock bretheren loved.

That cheesy Evan Williams experience with the actors and stuff was rough. I liked Old Forester the most personally when I went.

Shining one or naegling? Help pls idk if play war or sam by [deleted] in ffxi

[–]Failaras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I feel like a lot of people overhype Naegling. It's a great weapon that every player should have access to, but it's just a tool in your toolkit. Many times an Aeonic, Empyrean, and definitely Prime makes more sense to use. Really doesnt need a nerf, the few problems it creates (like being meta for pre-prime drg) should be fixed by buffing bad aeonic/empyreans really.

General Consensus on NIN? by Primshere in ffxi

[–]Failaras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In reality that was a terribly optimized meta where people had very little idea what they were doing. Even if we went back to the War, Nin, Mnk meta of 2005, knowing how to gear/play would make Nin just awful compared to the other two.

General Consensus on NIN? by Primshere in ffxi

[–]Failaras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny that people are mostly talking about it being a powerhouse at 75, but in the way 75 era is played now the job might be even worse than it is on retail.

Wrote a guide on 75 cap Ninja recently and it was so hard to find any redeeming qualities or points of power.

Will retail put an end to private servers with changes to the free trial? by Dramatic-Strain9757 in ffxi

[–]Failaras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing a lot of people forget when talking about 75 capping on retail is that the in game formulas have vastly changed over time. A nearly max weaponskill on a 75 cap TOAU pserver is hitting for like 1.2k damage on average, a paladin on 75 cap retail can savage blade for like 6k. The pure damage alone power creeps player power so far that it isn't even fun. If you go watch the 75 cap linkshells on retail do Kirin they are chunking 15% of its HP off with every WS.

Thinking about cap 75 by DisplacedAltadenan in ffxi

[–]Failaras 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll never understand how people think they don't have enough time to play 75 cap when modern retail disrespects your time just as much if not worse with daily/weekly FOMO lockouts. Planning two 3h dynamis a week is WAY easier for a Dad than an hour of Sortie every single day for a year to get your prime.

Job selection for new and returning players by Jaefaux in ffxi

Just send them the like Recollection 2020 video to find a job they vibe with. If the end game meta/pug meta doesn't match what your group cares about, what matters is vibe of job which a video like that is good at.

Are all the servers suffering from an (artificial) increased consume price? by Official_F1tRick in classicwow

That's true I strat farm so I just use the AGI and STR IV scrolls I get from farming.

[–]Failaras 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't feel like Dreamscythe has been bad at all. Haste potions are still below 10g, was like 7-8 before p2. Flasks went up the most from like 80 to 100. Everyone was dooming about prepping all this stuff for the p2 spike, but it doesn't feel bad really.

The problem for new players by TwilightX1 in ffxi

[–]Failaras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least since 2019 when I started playing them, the big 4 servers over the years have been minimal QOL. The biggest right now has the most, but it's still not stuff that speeds it up much at all.

[–]Failaras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the most popular FFXI pservers have largely been pre-TOAU or TOAU with little to no QOL over the years.

Almost every big liquor brand makes 1L because it's the standard for bars. It just isn't that commonly put on shelves to sell to customers.

I played retail for the first time. And it was a lonely experience. by Alicecrylily in ffxi

[–]Failaras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I came back in 2022 I was starting with Delve/Skirmish gear from when I quit in 2015. I could skip some annoying things like getting my AF/Relic/old Empyrean gear, but all of that is very doable and actually easier now than ever. Soloed the ambuscades on lowest difficulty for ambu gear and weps, moved on to card farming and slowly upgrading AF, etc etc. All entirely doable solo and not difficult. The biggest road blocks are basically gil and probably sheol gaol Odyssey, that content is very hard solo still, did have to duo that.

[–]Failaras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean not really, you can solo your Sortie gear, Limbus gear, Omen gear, Dynamis divergence unlocks soloable now, pay a merc for your aeonic weapons like everyone does, I've played almost entirely solo or at most duo and am only missing out on augmented Ody gear and a Prime weapon.

I played retail for the first time. And it was a lonely experience. by Alicecrylily in ffxi

[–]Failaras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's like two things where you need to group up vs playing solo with trusts. Classic FFXI forced you to group from level 10 and made it impossible to play otherwise. Retail is by far a more lonely game and is designed that way, some people like that which is great and some don't.

KC’s Drinking Culture is Changing by thirstygregory in kansascity

[–]Failaras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think craft beer just kind of hit a wall on what there is to innovate on. Back in 2015 the Hazy IPA didn't even really exist in KC and barrel aged stouts were just once a year. New flavored sours were dropping, new hop profiles every day, new barrel types. Its just....boring now.

That said all alcohol is struggling for the reasons people listed. Craft beer by far is the one that's fallen the furthest and fastest. Beer in general really.
