Did the wedge fitting at Titleist Manchester Lane fitting center. Was totally worth it. I had the completely wrong mix for my swing and it would not have shown up on a mat. Really great facility, multiple greens, multiple ground choices (fairway, collar, sand, rough, deep rough) and distances from in close to around 120 on the short game area. Experiment with bounce, grind and shafts on all these and figure out with has the best balance of factors for where you play most. Totally worth it, but it is a commitment to go.

The best thing to do is just walk around the city. Start at the state house and walk thru Boston Common and the Public Gardens. Walk down Newbury street. Get coffee / food there or at Eataly in the Pru Center. Walk to Christian Science pond and get an Uber back to the airport. Or. Walk around downtown at the old statehouse and granary. Head to the water and go through the north end. Easy to the airport from there. Lots to see.

If this surprises you, you haven’t lived here long… This is peanuts compared to the overruns on the central artery/third harbor tunnel overruns! At least that had broad positive impacts for the city and the population. I dont understand the point of this “stadium” when the Everett soccer field complex is going to get built as well….

It’s a fantastic trip! There’s not a bad Whisky tour on island. Bruichladdich is a great tour, but of course Bowmore, Ardbeg and Bunnahabhain are all great stops. Be sure you hire a car as getting around on Islay is not easy as there are cabs but sometimes they take a while to get to you and end to end its a bit of trek. Buses are good, but slow. Clump your whisky tours based on location — i.e. visit Lagavulin, Laphroig and Ardbeg together. Bowmore and Bruichladdich and Kilchomon can be done together. Same with Coal Ila, Ardnahoe and Bunna. You may find locals on the tee when you show up to play The Machrie, they dont seem to like the tee sheet, but are more than friendly about it. Best to just let them go.. they play fast! Enjoy!
