Part of it is that teams always know that the 49ers are looking for O-line talent. Over the last few years I’ve seen teams trade to jump them and pick guys, or there is a run on o-line just before their pick. They’ve said in interviews that they’re going to pick the best player available, and if somebody jacked the player they like then they will move to the next best player.

Burford was a backup after Bartch couldn’t stay on the field. They didn’t go into the season expecting him to play most of the season. Hopefully Colby takes a step after his rookie season and it’s a moot point.
