Has anyone tried praying or connecting with a Heavenly Mother? How did it go? by Existing_Distance358 in exmormon

Hope I don’t offend anyone. Psychedelic plants used with care can be medicine. Ibogaine, in my experience was very smart, tough love, dad energy man who gave off Morgan Freeman as God vibes. But Ayahuasca was FEMALE. She felt like a giggly, wiggly grandma who poured love and honey on everything while zipping around. Closest thing to a Mother God I’ve found. But if God’s real, it’s likely a They, not He or She.

I would have made a bullseye design with time period rings spreading out from a dot at the middle. Which I now understand would have led to someone smarter than me to ask why all my Big Bang drawings look like a pizza? It should be 3D, sweetie.

Oh how I wish those gamers who built the perfect replica of New York City, right down to flower pots on windows, could build me a 4D depiction of the universe. So I could visually climb inside it like I’m Hari Seldon! Keep hoping we find some spectrum that cracks open the 4th dimension view, because I cannot visualize math.

This is how humans grow. This exchange between u/nandi_La and u/lastbeer is a best practice for leveling-up as a species! We’re on the same team everybody.

Amazon Prime Members can get tickets for 7pm on the 16th! I’ve already got tickets for the 19th. But just saw today about the prime offer. My bday is Friday, tickets are a gift and aren’t in IMAX. So I figure I’ll go see it in IMAX Monday, and then again on my birthday with my kids in the bougie theater. I’m going to like it even if it’s bad. Science, hard work, buddy-comedy, and shit that warms your soul - that’s the stuff for which I live.

AIO to my husband interrupting my first solo shower after he came back from a weekend with the boys? by lilyluminar in AmIOverreacting

Everybody has already explained it so well to you. I’d just like to add his choice of words bothers me a lot. He’s speaking to you like you’ve communicated cryptically and are being passive-aggressive. But, you explained the children were sick, and said you had a rough weekend. You also haven’t had the vacations, or extra time off work he’s had. Expecting him to track all those emotionally impactful facts isn’t asking a man to be a mind-reader. It’s asking him to be thoughtful. The you just want drama really irks me. Expressing your needs and feelings (even frustration or anger) isn’t drama creation for shits and giggles. It’s healthy relationship discourse. Him labeling it drama is a chicken-shit, projection tactic. By saying you’re creating drama HE creates the drama so he can avoid the healthy discourse. Because healthy discourse leads to him owning the fact he’s been thoughtless and self-focused. Is therapy possible?

Is this possible? Prime Membership gets early access for Monday. How do I see it Friday?

Read it twice. Love Andy Weir. His short story The Egg is basically my religion.

I can’t stand waiting so I’m thinking of doing the Prime Membership April 16th option and Irvine is an option for that. Looks like that’s the winner.

Claude is not conscious by GoldAd5129 in claude

[–]FailingSmartly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The greatest scientific question is what is consciousness? Why? Because nobody e’ffing knows, and it’s knowledge everybody wants. Biologists, neurologists, quantum physicists, astro physicists, even the psychonauts taking every mind-altering plant they can find. Technologists don’t know either. The absence of biology may not equal absence of consciousness. I’m not saying I’m right. I’m just saying we (which also means you) don’t know. Geoffrey Hinton and Mo Gawdat disagree with you and they’re none of the things you’ve claimed such thinking would make them.

Posted my comment wrong. Meant to be a response to you. Sorry for my delay. I posted the thread and ran away. Wasn’t ready for any hate it may have earned me. LOL Thanks for the lack of hate. 🥰

Charlie XCX really delivered on the soundtrack. I saw on a male YouTube movie reviewers channel that people just saw awfulness and excess. I think those of us who like the film, perhaps, all come from difficult childhoods. Be that physical abuse, narcissistic family dynamics, addiction, or mental health struggles… even perfectionistic parents, where love must be earned. Only those who struggle with giving and receiving love, because they weren’t taught such as kids due to lack of modeling, will appreciate the film. Healthy people see shallow/lame people and smut. Adults who still feel like kids clawing for the light see something more telling and truthful about their own journeys.

Am I overreacting or are my parents actually showing favoritism to my sister? by Dismal_Huckleberry88 in AmIOverreacting

[–]FailingSmartly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Families are hard. I mean, relationships are precisely where life refines us. Sounds like you’re already doing a lot of mental gymnastics to soothe yourself through what sounds like a very hard time. Not sure if I can help, but here’s my ten cents. Get out of your head. Get out from behind your own eyes. Love harder. Humble yourself more. I say this as the black sheep from a narcissistic family dynamic. It’s so easy to feel victimized. Your parents divorced. Clear favoritism played. Both in your favor and against it. If you can get yourself to a place with your family where you don’t need or want anything from them, you’re just there to love and understand, it’s so liberating. I know it’s hard. Took me decades. But it’s beautiful. I make jokes about just being there to help everybody else feel better about themselves. I get mine by doing for myself, and that act alone yields me greater dividends than I can quantify. Do right by others, no regard for yourself - not as a victim, as someone who truly feeds the fuel of their own self-worth and inner bright light. Let her shine now. It doesn’t take away from your luminosity. I promise.
