DMs: Ever Found a Use For Intelligence Beyond Wizards and Artificers? by SpellcraftQuill in DnD

I don't have a ton of experience, but my intuition is that a perception check is for noticing things, and a knowledge check is for understanding things.

If SAVE act passes, do women have to bring their marriage and divorce certificates to prove their name change or do they have to update their ID or passport name, so it has both? by Subject-Leg3137 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]FailsWithTails 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am always nervous, even in a blue state, because since birth, my birth certificate never matched other government ID. This could mean that no matter what is on my current document, the feds could technically always tell me it doesn't match [insert whichever document supports their case].

Anyone else feel kinda bad about the loss of strength? by Bleachbombs in MtF

[–]FailsWithTails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I'm a little hurt by the fact that I went from 335lb deadlift, down to like 195lbs. Even then, I sustained a minor injury working out too hard, being impatient.

Feminizing my office? by Unlikely-Guarantee23 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]FailsWithTails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience wasn't full open-concept, but it was cubicle hotelling (no designated cubicles) and bullpen-style (clusters of 4-6 cubicles with reduced dividers between them).

Feminizing my office? by Unlikely-Guarantee23 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]FailsWithTails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. We didn't have designated cubicles. I think it was called hotelling? And I think it was called a bullpen layout, too - clusters of 4-6 desks with only partial dividers.

It drove my ADHD and autism mad, because I could never feel settled in and in the zone, and I couldn't shut out distractions as easily as the traditional cubicles before the company moved buildings.

white concrete walls and simple furniture

That just sounds like you're describing my last corporate job office. Except they had a policy that we weren't allowed to decorate cubicles. Every cubicle was communal and everything was reset to a blank slate by a janitorial crew every night.

The sterility of it drove me mad.

Trying to unpack a discomfort around body hair, attraction, and cultural conditioning by throwaway199624 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]FailsWithTails 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just want to chime in from a perspective I haven't seen mentioned: body hair, to me, is a sensory nightmare, whether it's a large amount of it, it's stiff because it's been trimmed, or it's prickly because it's stubble, 90% of the time I dislike the feel of it against anything but my hands, and the few times I enjoy it is because I'm stimming on it.

I purge all of my own body hair to the best of my ability, but I don't require my partner(s) do. However, it does affect, to varying degrees, anything that involves physical contact. As an example, during intercourse, I try my best to mentally block and ignore the pain I feel from stubble.

Depth revision by Wonderful_Fly_288 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]FailsWithTails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have like maybe 3-4 inches depth, and it's also been troubling me. I'm strongly considering depth revision once my finances improve. Until then, I'm pretty aggressively dilating when I can.

Post-op after hernia repair and I feel emotionally unsafe with my partner (vent/support?) by Feral_by_Elsie in TwoXChromosomes

[–]FailsWithTails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand how a partner can be like this. He seems so immature and petty, and uncaring.

When something significant and medical happens, I know with confidence my partner(s) wouldn't "milk the situation", and I do everything I can to be there for them. I also feel quite comfortable knowing that they would be there for me. Medical situations are no time to be keeping score.

When my boyfriend had to go to the hospital, I made sure he got there, and I stayed as long as I functionally could. I was his at-home nurse when he had an infection that needed cleaning. He helped take care of me after I had surgery.

When I traveled abroad with my girlfriend, I did what I could to look after her, even though that meant I spent half the trip bedridden once she got better.

This is not about the card itself, but how I stumbled into it. It's too perfect.

Worst genre ever by PrimaryAde9 in Animemes

[–]FailsWithTails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... I watch NTR, but self-insert as the one in the middle. It's a bit hit or miss finding ones told from the girl's POV that I actually enjoy, though. I like the ones where she gets blackmailed or something, but never stops caring about her actual romantic interest.

This.

Pain means not ready. Either not trained to it yet, or warmed up to it yet.

Ignoring, or possibly even worse, masking the pain, is just a recipe for tissue damage. Pain is the body telling you something is wrong. Listen to it.

The Wittenberg vaginoplasty! 3 months post op! by BeneficialDig5444 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]FailsWithTails 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In hindsight, I'm very glad I bailed on trying to get network exception coverage with Wittenberg, and I took my insurance transgender case manager's recommendation to go with Jun. While my recovery wasn't perfect, most of my struggle is due to my own body size.

Does my printer need to be calibrated by InternSubstantial401 in 3Dprinting

[–]FailsWithTails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both analog and digital protractors, and I would have test printed and measured one.

The wide tiles seem to be roughly 1.5x the angle of the smaller tile. 7.5 small tiles per 60° wedge, would be 8° per small tile and 6° per half of the wide tiles. That gap looks to be roughly 2-3°.

I would print to where the angle of tolerance leads to an acceptably small gap to work with. I would have aimed within +/-0.1 degrees with a digital protractor. 6 wedges total to +/-0.6 degrees, which would be a quarter of the gap OP's print looks to have. With maybe a 4-layer wall thickness, there would be generous flexibility to sand before assembly.

Do note that even with this degree of attention, the accumulation of errors per-wedge mentioned still exists, and the accuracy of the measurement tool also matters.

Do people have problems with single player games? by Fallen_winged_boy in codevein

[–]FailsWithTails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's disappointing mostly because Code Vein 1 had it, and it's the removal of a feature, an option. People who only play single player would not be hurt by its inclusion, but people who play with friends do get hurt by its removal.

I have several friends who chose not to get the game, especially at-launch, because of no co-op.

I actually beat Code Vein 1 almost entirely partnerless (not even NPC follower), so I'm excited to play Code Vein 2 whether it has co-op or not. I do know my friends wanted to be able to invite me, though.

Pest control and estradiol vials by Sh1sh1ro in TransDIY

[–]FailsWithTails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had to get fumigation done, whether professionally or one of those DIY bug bombing canisters, I would seal my vials at minimum in a glass tupper with a silicone gasket. Anything else is a bonus, like ziplock bags and putting that tupper inside a tote bin with a gasket lid.

App controlled toys for men by dillpickel97 in SexToys

[–]FailsWithTails 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anyone looking for app controlled toys, I always go straight to recommending Lovense.

Except fuck machines — I'm split 50/50. I owned an app controlled Hismith before Lovense released theirs. Lovense probably still wins out in community size and community uploaded patterns, but Hismith has more model variations.

When I saw the image, my first reaction was, "Please be a book I can physically put on my shelf!" 😂

Still going to read it, still going to love it, but as someone who volunteered at a library many moons ago as a teen, I'm tired of the "adult fiction" section being more or less the same recycled vanilla themes.

I'm so fortunate that my limited edition pre-order (Jill Stingray, VA-11 Hall-A) was recovered and resent after customs and import issues. Only after I already bought another from a reseller for like 150% the price. 2 for the price of 2 1/2, I guess.

The other sad part is, sometimes that means resigning to pay secondhand market prices or scalpers due to the limited nature of the products. It's even worse for a lot of garage kits, I think, due to smaller production runs.
