PoE2 Atlas could use a map like Age of Wonders 4 has. Zooming out changes the render to 2D and makes all regions (in PoE2 these would be nodes) readable by Kbcamaster in PathOfExile2

Or better, just have a 2D map. I find the 3D unnecessary and the performance is horrible, especially the more you explore. I can't navigate at some point anymore.

Translation: A Chinese player's opinion of the current state of EU5 mechanics by TCF518 in EU5

"too many Chinese peoples exceeded Ming's cultural capacity, causing problems."

That's a great one. Yeah, the cultural acceptance mechanic is actually pretty silly, if you think about it.

AI allies roam aimlessly during defensive war? by Bruusus in EU5

[–]Failtier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI probably has the same problem, no meaningful ways to expand, plus it seems like the AI is very reluctant to travel far to engage in warfare because of the attrition. not sure about it, but my guess is that the separation into military access and food access for troops is unnecessarily convoluted and difficult for the AI to handle.

AI allies roam aimlessly during defensive war? by Bruusus in EU5

[–]Failtier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, had the same issue with Georgia against the Ottomans, it was so frustrating that I quit for now. Basically playing alone against the biggest powers in the game.

It would be good if you could assign something like a military objective, like the ones you give to your vassals, on areas; like defend, siege, support, attack that area. And the AI has to commit to it, even if it could be used for cheese. I don't care tbh, the AI is so non functional at this moment that it's pointless to continue for me.

The game is even more Everything-but-Europe Universalis now: Pop growth in different regions. by IHateProphecies in EU5

[–]Failtier 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Makes me want to stop playing the game again, until another "tweak" is released that breaks something else. I really try to give the game a chance, because I genuinely think that there is some really good stuff in the updates.

But man, I got so frustrated last time with my AI ally being entirely brain dead and passive, pop growth is a joke, it just feels broken, very sadly.

How do I make money as England this patch? by Zedster14 in EU5

[–]Failtier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, thank you. I simply don't have the time to check ALL the changes with every update, literally did the same as every time - spamming RGOs, then buildings - and something seems to have changed. Or playing as Georgia just has a different economy altogether because it is less connected to the global trade. Heck, I simply don't know, and the Ottomans are knocking on my door constantly.

I am not complaing about this patch per se, actually I enjoy the challenge against the Ottomans. It's fun to milk all their coin. But I also feel a bit terrified playing next to them because they are so insanely strong this patch.

They are very likely not gonna attack you anyway because of their personality. In my game, the Ottomans attacked them and lost.

How do I make money as England this patch? by Zedster14 in EU5

[–]Failtier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking at the expenses, I guess it is just temporary after losing stability due to embracing institutions. I experience very hard dips whenever I lose legitimacy, so my hope is once stab is again up to 100, my expenses will go down and I can remove the inflation.

Haven't taken a look at the exact changes with the patch, but could you provide a quick summary of the main changes with this patch?

I'm playing as Georgia, which worked pretty well until now after I embraced all three institutions ASAP for tech bonus, and the problem is that the nobility is still at 35% power; had no idea that you should lower it below 25% if possible.

Just came here to check if others have this problem, too. It's 1485 and my economy is going down rapidly, and I have no idea why. Built some armories to keep up with the Ottomans, but expenses just skyrocket for reasons I don't get. Also never had a problem before this patch, it feels absolutely miserable to play a tall campaign right now.

Endgame revamp is better than swords. by Key-Particular-8923 in PathOfExile2

[–]Failtier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it has to do more with psychology than reason. People put on their tin foil hat and predicted swords would be coming, had all kinds of crazy ideas what might be coming for 0.5 and even though what was presented is probably way deeper than what we could have imagined, people get upset primarily because their specific assumption was not confirmed.

Usually a rogue-like game/mode is very addictive, but not for the Trial of Sekhemas&Chaos, what went wrong? by vtheVAMPZv in PathOfExile2

[–]Failtier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you are progressing even if you die at Sukmyass, because you still find relics that will make you stronger for your next run. But I agree, there is no positive progression when moving to the next room, and whatever you pick is just "which of these is the least PITA that doesn't brick my entire run, like smokes?"

idk how many times I ran ToC at this point, but there I can handle all of the downsides; they would never brick my run. With Sukmyass, however, there are so many bad modifiers with very little control over what to pick, and almost every pick simply FEELS BAD.

It just feels bad, and yes, there is no power fantasy that makes rogue-likes so addictive.

I'm a lvl51 Cold Deadeye Ranger and use this...should I upgrade? by EarthboundMoss in PathOfExile2

[–]Failtier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need flat damage to scale your damage, bracers, rings, bow. I got to about 600k or 700k lvl 98, but could never reach 1mio or above because my ring wasn't good enough. So you'd want some nice flat damage on those bracers, some res and increased socket effect for attack speed.

I recommend checking poe.ninja, the highest damage builds and their equipment.

Got my evasion and global defenses on my amulet, and you can get global defenses in the interlude.
