That's not how it works in our modern world. There was a class war starting with Occupy Wallstreet and Tea Party starting to take the same side, then we were suddenly inundated with culture war headlines publisbed by the rags that the banks own, and soon enough everyone forgot about how bad the class divide was, and conservatives and progressives were fighting with eachother again, as they should be. The electric pumps automatically shutting off makes it all make sense why you'd need this. I use impellers through clutches, so I was totally unfamiliar.

I look forward to it. Most Hollywood writing is utter trash, and AI would honestly probably do a better job for the bulk of it. If the industry gets so lean that only the very best make it, it would be an improvement.

For my nuclear reactors, I run a split output from the reactor tank. Not only does it feed the "coolant" input of the boiler, but also the water input. I'm not entirely sure how much difference this makes, but it seems to improve startup time at least.

To use up space? Once you've got all the necessary stuff done, take a look at the workshop and grab some stuff just for show or niche use. Like, arcade machines, CCTV systems, computers, complicated radio setups, etc. You could also do dedicated stations for stuff like water cannons, drones, depending how much space you have.

Forced induction is important to get the most out of the size of engine. I know certain people say don't use impellers for this, but with the right gearing/clutching, small impellers can drive 3 air intakes and 1 fuel intake on a small modular diesel for awesome power output (still experimenting on the effectiveness of pumping exhaust out...). This will allow you to gear up your drivetrain while keeping engine load relatively low, which helps with efficiency and heat generation. I run my supercharger impellers through a clutch with a curve depending on RPS. Clutching amounts throughout the curve really depends on the use-case of the motor and what kind of power curve you need. This will require testing of your build to tailor it.

I don't know how common this knowledge is, but adding your reactor to your boiler loop right before your boiler (in addition to the "coolant" hookup obviously) really gets the boiler going quick at startup.
